Sandalwood and Cypress Cologne Intense

This can be a unisex fragrance for those who love wood based perfumes. It would smell nice on a man or a woman. Layered over a cocoa butter lotion is my favorite way to wear this. I just purchased this and it was a steal that I found on a shopping excursion through TJ's bargain shelves. Ten bucks! Great find. I bought this one ounce cologne intense formula and it smells so good! Seriously this is like a parfum strength and since it is so strong it will only take one little spritz of this wonderful fragrance. If you love woody scents this warm sandalwood and cypress fragrance will make you a happy soul. I can see this being a wonderful layering scent to accentuate the woody components in fragrances. I can see it with all kinds of vanilla perfumes and amber based scents. Beautiful on it's own as well. Women can do some experimenting with perfumes marketed to men and find scents they love for wearing or layering.

I wore some of this yesterday because I've been missing my Coty Wild Woods. It's similar but the cypress makes it different. Personally, I like the cypress. It was a nice woodsy scent for the day but most of all I think as a layering scent to amp up any other fragrances you wish, this would be great. Especially if you find it for $10 at T.J. Maxx like I did! I may try layering it with my Kuumba Made Amber Paste. On a man AoS Sandalwood & Cypress CI would be a really nice, clean smelling, woodsy fragrance by it's self.

This is really good. I now have four different bottles from TAOS and this is a favorite (others are Green Lavender, Vetiver Citron, and Coriander and Cardamom). I have Proraso's Cypress & Vetyver and I believe Sandalwood & Cypress is a better fragrance and a better performer. This is a nice barbershop scent which, like all TAOS fragrances, works better in warmer weather. (FYI, I detect no urine scent.)

It’s basic, but it works really well. It reminds me of hunting the backwoods of my home state.

I tried this on at the AOS store. I know the 3 guys that work there really well. One of them gave me a sample of this and it it a very good cologne. At first you definitely smell the sandalwood and cypress. Then is settles into a nice woody fragrance. The only downside I have is this is a cologne intense and is not that strong. If they would have made this an EDT it would be perfect. The longevity is pretty good but the sillage is not due to being a cologne intense. This would be perfect for wearing to work as it would not offend anyone. If you were going to wear it going out, you would need multiple sprays. The Green Lavender smells really nice too. The Oud Suede is really nice if you like oud fragrances. One of the better oud ones on the market. The Vetiver Citron is extremely weak. You have to spray 3-4 sprays on your wrist to get get the full effect of the scent. The Coriander and Cardamom is nice if you like spicy ones. I would say go to an AOS store and try them before buying them. They have some nice Penhaligon's fragrances too.

I actually really enjoy this scent ! Although it’s not 1 of my favorites it is a scent I enjoy year round ! This starts out kind of peppery,green but also kind of buttery and smooth at the same time. Once it dries down the sandalwood takes over and your left with a smooth,buttery sandalwood that’s quite natural but with some very light pepper in the background. It’s pleasant but also very simplistic in a good way !!! Performance is quite good ! It’s quite strong for the first 20 minutes but calms down quickly and then is quite soft but noticeable when you get close. Good for the office for that reason ! It lasts 6-10 hours on my skin. Overall rating-7.5 out of 10 ! Great scent that my wife loves as she says it’s relaxing and has a very natural sandalwood note ! I enjoy it as well

Strong - this stuff is strong. I put two sprays under a polo shirt 4 hours ago and it still going...actually I think it going a bit stronger than when I first put it on. Love sandalwood and loved the shaving cream, but if you want just a hint of scent, you only need a 1 spray. If you like the shaving cream or sandalwood, you'll love this...just easy on the trigger.

This is their most popular one and I can see why. Starts out really shy with a quick second of cypress and mostly spicy sandalwood. As it dries, other notes start to come out (along with the return of cypress), then eventually becomes pretty soapy (in a green-woody way). Probably the least one-dimensional of the collection.

Linear, generic sandalwood and pepper scent with barely any character to it. DOES NOT PERFORM at all. I have used it in hot, cold and rainy weather and it hasn't performed in any. Doesn't last indoors for more than a couple of hours. Doesn't last in AC. Doesn't last outdoors. We have $2 deodorants in India that last more than this.

This stuff is sandalwood beast mode. Unfortunately, I don't like the smell of pure sandalwood + other woodsy notes, which is all I get from this. If you're a sandalwood fanatic you are going to enjoy this. It smells very pure.

It amazes me how many 'fake news' reviews are infiltrating fragrantica. They say that performance is weak due to cologne concentration... I call BS, because even thought they are MARKETED as cologne intense, they are actually EDP formulations. More on that later... I actually own this fragrance, and 3 others from AOS. (I've tried them all). The only one in the line that has performance issues due to its light ingredient scent characteristics would be the coriander and cardamon. This starts off strong, with cedar, sandalwood and a thick buttery accord, and slight animalic (think urine actually). The scent settles within 30 minutes to smooth out, and go toward its sandalwood base, combined with a bit of sweet spiciness from the cypress. The drydown is quite similar to their oud scent, albeit without the almond oli accord. Owning both scents would be unnecessary. For an authentic, natural and very well done wood scent, this one is going to be hard to beat. Powerful projection for 2-3 hours, strong skin scent that gets noticed within a foot for an additional 4-6 hours. Lasts a total of 8-12 easily. Now about the AOS "cologne intenses"... they are made by P&G and are actually at least 19% oils, most above 22%, some as much as 34%...that is parfum extract terrirory folks. And, they are all incredibly natural smelling oils. The "cologne" is just because they are marketing toward males in a barbershop setting. They also use a health amount of clary sage for these products, the only natural ambroxan alternative on the market, and the best natural fixative for fragrances. That means the scent stays longer. I have some insider knowledge about this but we wont get into that. Quality all around, worth probably 3x what they are charging.

This is a very inoffensive, straight forward linear scent. To me it’s like a fragrance anyone can wear even if they aren’t fond of fragrance. You can wear it at work, at home, outside at the park, at school it doesn’t matter. It is better for the fall and spring season, though I prefer it in spring since it is lighter and not spicy or warm. Honestly I really don’t pick up any of the notes listed here except the woods that are listed on the bottle, and maybe just maybe a slight hint of lemon. It’S a fairly weak scent anyways, but I don’t regret buying it but I wouldn’t buy it again because of the price tag that comes with it. The bottle is nice and masculine though and commands a presence on my sink. Overall an ok scent. Be careful with what kind of soap you wear with this because I was using some generic sandalwood soap that I found in the back on my cabinet. The soap itself doesn’t have a strong scent at all unless your like all in me smelling me but when I use it then spray this cologne on it can leave a almost fertilizer smell on. I tried it with other sandalwood fragrances and it doesn’t leave the same smell, so it must be this fragrance interacting with the soap

Great masculine scent in vain of the chypre lovers. Its smooth, fresh and spicy balanced. If you like the original Polo Green, you will like this. I bought this as part of my Art of shaving complete grooming scent. This is even a good blind buy for masculine scent lovers. The best along with Coriander Cardamom options

...keep it moving folks, keep it moving; there is nothing new to see here, (IMO) just the former Sandalwood fragrance in a new bottle with a different name to give the appearance of something new and innovative! Although nice, just meh!

If you like sandlewood you will love this stuff. It's got some pine in the background but all I get is strong sandlewood. It is inoffensive and has great longevity. My favorite in the line is bourbon amber.

I like this a lot. Soft Soddy but whoever said it has a urine type smell in it is spot on. It does but I’m dirty like that and enjoy it.
