Bowhanti

In Sweden, this is a "flagship-store exclusive", BUT you can purchase it online. That's what I had to to, and I read all the notes very methodically and carefully, deciding which one to pick as a first blind buy. In the end the lot fell on Bowhanti, and I am so glad that it did because it was love at first spritz. First sniff of this perfume is all about the green stuff. Galbanum, patchouli. Sniffing the soil underneath a juniper bush etc. Like hugging a tree in summer. But second sniff! After 15 minutes or so, it does a complete 180 and becomes a semi-sweet floral on me! I get freesia. And I mean A LOT of freesia, because all of a sudden I am sniffing my arm and getting Laura Biagiotti - Laura! Not what I had expected at all, but white florals is also my jam, so this is the best of two worlds for me. Imagine a Laura Noir. This is it. --------------------------------------------------------- I started writing this review and then came back, and now it is almost an hour and a half later. Now I am getting jasmine tea!? What is this!? Shape shifting X-men perfume? I wonder what it smells like tomorrow. Nunca abburido.

This has quickly become an everyday comfort fragrance for me during the colder months. It’s so warm and classy, and it just makes me happy when I catch whiffs of Bowhanti throughout the day. Genuinely, when I’m huddled in a big sweater and suddenly smell this on the collar... it’s like a serotonin boost. I'm surprised to not see plum in the notes. I get a slightly boozy plum, woods, and a hint of cinnamon. I find the balance between woods and spice to be perfect; neither takes over or becomes overwhelming. Very pretty and elegant scent in my opinion, but it does sit very close to the skin. I overspray on both skin and clothes to make it last, and find that gives me a nice intimate cloud for around 5 hours. I believe it’s recently been discontinued, so don’t wait too long if you want to get your hands on a bottle.

I utterly love this smell! Unisex. A hot whiff of cinnamon, sandalwood, patchouli and incense with exotic spicy pepper. On me this lasts all day - up to 12 hours. On my clothes it lasts maybe a week. Can be smelled from arm length. When it wears off it becomes less spicy and more like freshly cut wood, with a hint of balsam. Great for the confident slightly masculine exotic woman. A cheap version of the popular Opium with less patchouli. Also similar to Estee Lauder Cinnibar but with less spice and more wood. Perfect for fall or paired with a women powersuit for work for a shot of confidence. Or for a hot date! Perfect balance of simplicity and complexity. Excellent value for the price. Would never have guessed it was a body shop one. Smells much more expensive.

Well done Body Shop! A medicinal heaven. Now this could be more medicinal, that is true, but even this amount is sufficient for me. If Body Shop takes care of the longevity and the sillage, Bowhanti will compete with high end perfumes. Leans towards the masculine side. Soothing for some reason! Spicy for real, woody too. A blast of spice in the opening, woody right of the bat. It's a quite intense cinammon in the beginning, pathouli and cinammon always complement each other in the best way possible, and the incense comes last. Feels a little powdery(?). Does develop into a more prominent incense and less patchouli and cinammon. The claims are true. Balsamic and medicinal all the way. A yes from me

This perfume smells amazing... for like 5 minutes, like many of the Body shop line. Its lasting power is nonexistent. I even sprayed it on a paper and it disappeared from there too after a little bit. Honestly, it's like it's made from top notes only. At least it should last 2-3 hours for me to feel like it's worth buying, especially at this price. I really wish it would last because when you first spray it on it smells really warm, comforting and beautiful, very lovable. (BTW things like moisturizing the skin first and stuff don't work for me.. it either lasts or it doesn't)

I snatched a gently used bottle because I wanted to see if Bowhanti is truly similar to my beloved Feminite Du Bois by Serge Lutens. It definitely is a very close analogue, especially if you don’t compare them side by side. I sprayed them one on each wrist to see where the differences come in... FdB is sweeter, fruitier (plum) and more intoxicating; Bowhanti is fresher, a bit more astringent (juniper berries?), lighter and woodier from the very beginning. These differences get smaller in later stages, both fragrances have mediocre longevity and soft, cinnamony, woody base.

So many complements the very first time I wore Bowhanti! Like most of you, I wear different scents every day, so folks are used to my fragrant obsession. Some they like, so they don't. But this little, inexpensive gem was a thumbs up from everyone! It does remind me a lot of the original Lubin Idole with the mask (not the vintage floral Idole). It is very realistic woods, nice touches of spice, and just oh so calming, somehow. Fabulous for the price, nice heavy bottle, medium to light in longevity. Sillage big at first, great dry-down. Get some. :)

This new Body Shop perfume line is pretty good. More expensive than usual, more intense, gender free, very contemporary. Bowhanti is my current favourite. Spicy and woody with an imaginary-mastic note twist on the skin. It is a bit close to "the smell of incense sticks" and that's not always welcomed, but all I can say is that this feels quite luxurious. You wanna spray it on velvet clothes and match it with golden accessories. Truly intense and long lasting on the skin. 30euros/30ml

This is a beautiful, deep, spicy woodsy scent. It smells like a combination of incense, damp wood, earthiness with a hint of tuber, and a slightly more spicy dry-down. This perfume is reminiscent of a woodfire in a cabin in the forest after the rain... but then also a deep incense hint of a vast Cathedral in southern France. The incense, woody and spicy notes blend to a perfect harmony. This is magic and I am obsessed. Well done to the Body Shop for this creation!

This was a great surprise. Very aromatic, to the point that i am a bit addicted. Not aggressive to the nose, at all,just like a morning walk in the woods in the beginning of the winter, the air is fresh but not cold enough to cover the smell of the nature. Lasting power is very appropriate, on the skin it becomes a warmer natural scent and on the clothes it lasts much longer. As always i seem to gravitated towards patchouli fragrances!

Round, full-body, warm and comforting fragrance, easy to wear. Good performance: stays with you for several hours. It starts from woody and somehow juicy accord, with a fresh and softly sweet balsamic touch, especially when freesia comes to the stage after 20 minutes. Interesting development leads to great accord. My man calls it a "fairy tale in the woods". It seems we equally enjoy this fragrance.

Most beautiful woody perfume ever made, I adoooore it. Never met a person who's offended by the scent. It stays on you for long hours, its fresh and woody, stunning when your hair's wet & you spray this on.. heaven in a bottle. From this I get crumbling bark lined with incense, freshly turned soil, sweetly spiced balsams and the most beautifully clean freesia note given support by galbanum and green patchouli. What a pleasant surprise from The Body Shop. I would love to have this in a candle! My home would smell like the deepest depths of a rainforest at first light.

Love it! The best of Elixirs of Nature line IMHO. An excellent mix of sweet and spicy, warm notes. I agree that it sort of resembles Dolce Vita. For me it has also the same vibes as Ylang by M.Micallef. I have them both and like to wear one after another when choosing a fragrance for the next day. High quality for really reasonable price.

I am not into woody scents, but surprisingly I like this very much. As someone pointed in the comment below, it is a "woody fragrance for beginners". I also agree it is calm. Worth trying even if you are somehow prejudiced towards woody fragrances like I am.

Woody creamy and balsamic scent. I would say that is more suitable for mans but if you have a warm skin and like unisex fragrances you will like it. It's definitely for the colder season and it is last long enough. The cap is from real tree.

I love Bowhanti because it smells exactly like my favorite perfume, Christian Dior Dolce Vita. It's warm, woody and spicy, gives ypu the most elegant smell. Good for office, night out and Gala dinner.

It reminds me a lot of Florentine Iris + cinnamon.

Ancak keyifli 1 saat sonrasında hızlı bir şekilde zayıflıyor. Eğer fiyatı makul, günlük kullanım için keyifli, iş ortamlarında rahatsızlık yaratmayacak bir parfüm arıyorsanız işinizi görür. Ancak iddialı olmadığını, yeni bir şey söylemediğini, kalıcılık ve koku dağılımının yeterli olmadığını da söylemek lazım.

Have not worn Body Shop scents for years but I remember they did great perfume oils which could knock out a whole room with their sillage. I was instantly enamoured by the smokiness,the woody sensuality of this scent and was prepared to be Body Shop reinitiated and leaving a sensuous trail of tropical forests in my wake.Ended up i couldn't even get a whiff of it on myself after an hour. A precious beauty with zero sillage and zero lasting power. If you want to be transported in an exotic breeze of beauty...know thid beauty will last 5 mins and take 7 sprays to get there

I tested it today on paper only and I love it. Sniffed all bottles, picked two and sprayed on paper - the other one smells just like Hypnotic Poison. Came home, put this paper on a table and couldn't figure out where this lovely smell is coming from. I can smell patchouli and some other notes I cannot separate and name but it's really lovely blend and reminds me of something else. It's a little bit masculine but I don't mind. Sadly it won't be on any offer for about 1,5 year but I am sure I will ask my husband to buy me a bottle for my coming birthday:)

This is not worth buying. So many better frags out there. I like it but it's not exceptional. Doesn't last. Doesn't project. It's basically a watered-down spice and wood fragrance. It's not rich or deep. It's not cozy.

Perfect to me: calm, not a wow/sugar rush. I'm aggreging on the woody but I don't get much the spices. But then you see, while Blue jeans excite my senses, it's also a bit too much, this is perfect to me :-)

On me this just goes and goes. A woodsy almost jam like fragrance with real warmth. Very unique. Can't quite figure out what this smells like but warm is what comes to mind.

i like the hint scene of cinnamon and balsam. the woody scent its so gooood. the tbs elixir collection its never dissapointed. the scents its not mainstream ❤️🔥🌲. like it

It is actually pleasant if you like a strong, woody, and smoky scent character. I really get a lot of cinnamon, incense, and bark with this one. The downside? Its performance is terrible. Lasts for 45 minutes to 1 hour with okay sillage, then turns into a skin scent for another 1 to 2 hours. Overall, I'll give it a 5/10 (I really don't care about this one too much, it has been laying inside my drawer since about 3 years ago (I'm never going to use it)). It's also headache-inducing for me.

Let me start by saying this: Most scents get more enjoyable in the drydown, however not in this case. I (28yo male) visited the body shop with my gf and found this scent. It opens with a very nice peppery woody but also sweet note and felt 100% unisex, even if it's declared as female scent in the shop. I'm a huge fan of woody scents and fell for it. I retried it later when I was home. The drydown was disappointing. It mellows down to a floral (freesia) semi woody potpourri that is not bad but boring and linear. Also I have the feeling that it gets much more feminine with age. Memo to myself (and to you): wait for drydown before buy! Performance wise it's very weak for an edp and even weak if it would be an edt. Overall, you get about 3h with almost no projection and sillage. Overall 2/5, no purchase recommendation.

Just bought all four of this newer line from Body Shop. Bowhanti, stands out to me as the best one so far. Woody,woody,and oriental to boot. And very unisex. It starts out "complex" then changes to "less of a scent"...sadly....But I am LOVING it anyways !! The 3 others, Kahaia,Swietenia, and Nigritella aere also "complex" and need to be "WORN" to let them explore your chemistry and vice-versa. I purchased these at TJ Maxx for $8.99 a piece, so, ok, not a bad blind buy. I can't really say that any of them smell like something else...???....So, yes, I find them unique-ish.

First impressions. Dried fruits. In the background, some smoky, woody, tobaccoish and spicy notes. But for me, the sweet notes overshadow everything else. In that aspect, it is somewhat similar to Dolce & Gabbana The One, also performance wise, and much more reasonably priced. I also get the Bentley for Men parallel, but it's simpler, cleaner and not as boozy. You get your warm fruit drink with dried plums and raisins and just a dash of rum for taste. It's nice, nothing more, nothing less.

Bowhanti is another gem from this excellent line of fragrances from the Body Shop, not sure this is my favourite of them, but it's a contender. To me, this smells like a bizarre mix of Activist and Dolce Vita, I know it sounds bizarre, but try it and see if you agree. Hugely warming, with strong woods and spices, particularly cinnamon, incense and possibly tuberose or freesia. It performed very well on my skin, all in all I'd class Bowhanti as excellent.

Woody notes with a hefty dose of cinnamon incense. I did not particularly care for this on the first spray as it goes on slightly medicinal but it grew on me over time. It's very balsamic and earthy, slightly peppered, totally unisex in my opinion. One of the most calm incense fragrances I've ever worn. The notes listing seems like it would have powerful sillage, but I found it to be a close to the skin scent no matter how much I oversprayed.

This is what I've been reaching for lately. The first part of Spring when the weather has hints of Summer but the cool Winter air still lingering. I have to be careful not to wear this in the blazing heat. The effect is like sitting in a very hot dry sauna, mouth parched feeling a little dizzy. All the woody notes I smell need a little cool humidity. Lasts for hours and I love the sensation I feel when wearing it.

I got pretty excited when I saw this compared to Feminité du bois, Dolce Vita and Idole - I love all of those. Of course, it is nothing like as good - neither in its overall scent nor its sillage and longevity. It is a nice, peppery woody scent but the drydown falls to pieces and it really does not last.

The top notes are indeed very similar to Dolce Vita, but they only last for 5-10 minutes. Then it quickly turns into a pleasant woodsy citrusy body scent. Another hour later it's a generic citrusy woody cologne. For the price Body Shop is asking for this EDP, I'd expect much better performance.

I have tested this one last week and i have to say this one is more masculin than others in this series. Definitely feels you luxurious. Fresh and woody. If you bored with designers' fragrances please give it a chance, you will not be dissapointed. Good longevity, avarage sillage.

A woody fragrance for beginners, or for someone who wants to dip their toe into unisex. Light and wearable, very pleasant. I don't see cedar in the notes but this goes VERY cedar on me. I like this, but I could never see myself buying another bottle, even at the <$10 price point.

The Body Shop trying to go "niche". Semi-boring spice fragrance. No longevity. More of a body spray. Body Shop does better than this with their "true" fruity fragrances. But if you see this for $7.99 at T.J. TrainWrexx, go for it --but think of it as a body spray only.

As an enduring Feminite Du Bois devotee my answer is: YES!!! I consider its a near perfect replica. I wonder what is in Mr Serge Lutens's and Christopher Sheldrake's mind when this gem has been replaced -when it comes to price - their masterpiece. Glad to found it .

This perfume is what I think Dany from Game of Thrones would smell like, spicy and exotic but also classy. The incense is beautiful. It’s definitely not an “in-your-face” fragrance but the lasting power isn’t too bad, definitely worth the price.

I have this perfume, I don't personally like it and trying to get rid of it even though I got a couple of compliments for it. People seem to like but I feel it is way too oriental and open very strong then disappears very quickly!

It smells very nice, light spicy note that warm like a cashmere scarf around your neck when the wind blows in the cold weather. But like the wind, this perfume is also weak longevity. If only Body Shop makes it more durable...

lovely woody, incense smell with a twist, love it, lots of different notes changing quickly and settling to woody powdery drydown , would recommend :)

On me the freesia is dominant. I was hoping for the woody notes and incense. If I were into freesia this would be great.

If you find difficulty to get Bentley Intense for Men, this is a great alternative. Quite similar, very nice
