Red Musk

Gorgeous a real find amongst the sickly sweet fruity lines the Body Shop is renowned for. Dry spices free of vanilla which I really like. I detect a bit of patchouli in here too but I might be imagining it. To me this is like a modern day take on a love child of Jovan musk and Obsession balmy warm and spicy with an extinguished candle note. I also get the comparison to Fahrenheit there is a similar hot firey note and the bottle is similar I suppose. Cinnamon but dry not mixed spice or apple pie like. Peppery clean yet dirty with the high quality cigar type tobacco but it could be a tad more leathery for my liking and a whole lot skankier. However I enjoy this as my day time appropriate office fragrance in place of my beloved winter scent sensuous noir which is a bit too raunchy for work in a conservative environment. This is along the same genre. There is a smidgen of the original white musk in here to keep things clean but its hardly there. The lotion is to die for a great base for layering oriental scents of most kinds. Not very long lasting but that is fine as this is quite affordable for a daytime scent. Sexy smokey but wearable. Perfect for any occasion as it never induces a headache due to the low projection it is unlikely to offend anyome yet smells sexy and sensual close up. The edp starts off like doctor pepper and cherries but soon mellows down to a warm spicy potion. I like to layer with the matching lotion everyday.

When this 1st launch, they have 100ml Edp, 100ml Edt, 30ml perfume oil concentration. But now this year, no more 100ml Edp only 50ml produced same goes with the Edt and for perfume oil they just newly produced new 20ml sizes. But luckily they do still have the 30ml though which is still a good news for me cause i prefer the body oil and planned to stock up this unique gem. As you all know the body shop is quiet well known discontinuing their precious perfumes. I dont know but i think its the sign they probably considering discontinuing this too. I hope not coz it'll be like nightmare for the perfumista like me whi adore this scent. This is actually really last long and have decent sillage specially the perfume oil. For the perfume oil you can use it alone without layering it with the body lotion or the shower gel. Tips ? I love the perfume oil and i normally apply 6 drops rules for this perfume oil. 6 drops at the back of my knees fold each left and right, 6 drops on my lower back spine area, 6 drops on my neck bone at the back of my neck, 6 drops on the chest,6 drops on the heart area, 6 drops at the back of my ear left and right each rub it all the to your frontal neck. That shall do the trick last 6 to 8 hours and on me. Decent longevity and sillage. The perfume oil react so good with your body heat and sweat isnt a problem. Coz trust me your sweat smell sexy with this.

I have the EdT and Perfume Oil. Both are different formulations. Funnily, I get very little musk from this. The oil was my introduction to it, and from it I get a hefty dose of cinnamon, though not nose-tickling. There is also certainly tobacco, though not a trace of ashiness about. Like Spicebomb, its tobacco is smooth and warm, with a slightly herbal aspect. I was surprised that dried fruit, especially apricot, wasn't in the notes, because the oil is jammy in the midphase and drydown. It's not cloying at all and actually very refreshing- I even wore this in summer! It's a versatile scent that could be worn any time of the year. The EdT amps up the peppery notes in the beginning and stays drier with more tobacco. It is a bit thinner than the oil and not as rich. It's woody and gives the overall impression of fire and smoke without actually smelling like them. I quite like it, and it's definitely in my top 10. It is definitely a unisex scent, bearing more than a passing resemblance (but being in my opinion better) than Spicebomb. In colder weather, it stays closer to the skin but is still detectable. It blooms with warmth. Longevity on its own is in the area of 4-6 hours, but I layer this with a homemade Molecule 01 (20% Iso E Super in 80% alcohol) and can get upwards of 12 hours out of the two combined. The cedar of the Iso E goes beautifully with Red Musk.

Oh I love this one! Red is a good name for this Musk, the notes are true and I get them all. On my skin it plays out like this: Starts off with the pepper, then the cinnamon makes its appearance. The combination gives almost a menthol like effect, don't get me wrong it does not smell minty at all. I don't quite know how to explain it, like if Vicks Vapo rub came out with a cinnamon version I guess. I find it really pleasant. Then it starts to sweeten up a bit more with the tobacco, which seems like a honey'd tobacco. The musk is present throughout and becomes more dominant in the dry down, similar type musk as used in white musk, just without ANY floral. I feel like there might be some sort of wood in it, but that might just be what my skin does with the musk I really like it, it's completely different and sooooo comforting. I want to snuggle up in it!! *additional note: wearing it today someone told me I smell like tea. I'm guessing they meant one of those fall specialty teas. Taking another smell I do agree with them that there is a bit of a black/orange pekoe smell to it

This perfume is perfect for the ones that enjoy musk- and lightly masculine notes. It is a very well-composed perfume, definitely one of my favourite musk-perfumes. I don't know how long it lasts but I would guess that it lasts very long, partially because of its strong character. A lot of people have told me that this fragrance smells too masculine and that it fits better on men. Personally I think it works good on women, it's slightly masculine but more like a women's fragrance heading towards a unisex fragrance. Yet I think men could wear this without anyone noticing that this, originally, is a women's perfume. I've tried the lotion too but it smelled horrible on my skin. Hopefully the same thing won't happen with the EDP, otherwise it's better to try to hinder the perfume to touch the skin. Overall, right now, I love this perfume and recommend everyone who likes masculine and musk notes to try this one!

I wore this heaps in my late teens after my sister, who got it secondhand from a friend and didn't want it, gave it to me. It was the first perfume that I truly liked on me. I grew up in a hot, extremey humid climate, summer year-round. We had wet season and flooding season. This scent came alive in the heat, and seemed to complement my natural skin scent very well, especially the pepper notes. The tobacco and spice are well balanced and are probably the reason I'm still so drawn to those notes. Paired with the intimate sillage, this really works as a unique, less lactonic/creamy and more spicy, heady skin scent. Keeps unfolding the longer it's on the skin. I don't know enough about fragrances to have anything to compare this to. I'm sentimental about it, sure, but it was honestly better than it had any right to be. Long-ago signature scent.

For me this is an aromatic mulled wine in a perfume bottle or a spicy, hot black currant drink with some drops of alcohol in it. Delicious, warm and warming, thick, dark and perfect for winter. In the opening I smell some dried fruits, citrus peels, dark raisin. Then come all the spices we usually put in mulled wine -pepper, cinnamon and cloves (not listed) and some nutmeg. The dry down becomes a bit masculine (I guess it's because of the tobacco note which is just slightly present), but very inviting and pleasant mixed with some nice, reserved sweetness. I don't associate this scent with red, it's rather very deep red, even purple, dark and mysterious. Overall it's unique, could be a good unisex scent as well, warming, uplifting, holiday mood maker scent. I bought it and I'm happy!

I agree with @scarlett.angel The perfume oil is great to be use for therapeutic massage oil too. Normally after shower, I'll just wipe dry my body and starts applying the red musk body lotion. Chest, neck & pulse points, the lotion really absorb well & fast on the skin plus no sticky feel to it. Then I put 3-4 drops of this Red Musk perfume oil and start rubbing it. it's a good combination the body lotion & the perfume oil. Really recommend this method. It stays with me whole day. Sweat ? No probs, the scent really mix well with my body sweat kind of like cinnamon sweat smelling. Which is sexy in a clean way. Already have 3 bottles for back up. Need another 7 more. This precious perfume oil won't be available for long. Just like the Vanilla Perfume oil fate, discontinued.

Absolutely adore this scent it has been a staple of mine for nearly a decade. If I am unsure of what to wear I immediately reach for this. The tobacco in this fragrance isn't over powering, but rather a pleasant somewhat earthy spice. It is so warm, it is almost cold... it's quite difficult to explain, kind of like that icy hit so many male colognes have but not in an obnoxious way synonymous with those scents. The initial smell has this clean pepper savour to it but once it dries down on your skin, a soft smoky musk emerges with a very subtle powdery cinnamon. Overall it is quite sad this fragrance has been discontinued as it will forever be a personal favourite of mine and I dread the days where I am unable to reach for it in times of uncertainty. 8/10 !!

Well,just got to say..W0W! Had no great expectations,but is just amazing. Hada few squirts of both the EDT & EDP in morning,developed into a gorgeous soft tobacco scent. Lasted for ages,would def recommend for both ladies and gents,it's very unisex perfume. Very nice if you don't like fruity or floral. I have noticed that since Body Shop was taken over by L'Oreal group,the quality of fragrances has increased,but there is a tendency to discontinue products. This is also true of Elizabeth Arden group,if it don't sell...mark it down.Very upsetting for some old Dears who love the one lippie from pre-wars years etc. Blue Grass,Blue Grass,Blue sorry where am I,did you leave the iron on Dolly? Oh yes,some Youth Dew please dear.

I tried this in the shop three times over a period of weeks before I bought it (and then only because I had a voucher to use up!) but I'm glad I have it. I don't get much tobacco, but musk - yes, cinnamon - in perfect amounts and soap. I don't know why, but this smells to me like a spicy scented bar of soap. So, a clean musk, I guess. The cinnamon is a perfumey cinnamon and not a hot cross bun / bakery / vanilla cinnamon though it still adds a warmth to the mix. All in all Red Musk is definitely unisex, I could see my husband wearing this, too. Warm, charming, unlikely to offend, balanced and very, very wearable. Silage & longevity - moderate. When I saw this beautiful bottle in the store, I just had to give it a try. I was sceptical at first, because musk does not agree with skin's chemistry+ the fact it is unisex, made me think it would not be feminine enough. So wrong...yes, the first spritz does come out somewhat "masculine" The tobacco/musk is somewhat strong, but that part did not last too long on my skin. Then comes the CINNAMON.... It is the cinnamon that breaks this perfume into a beautiful soft scent Not powdery but just right: sweet, warm and actually quite seductive, I think. It is not overpowering and can be used daytime, however I'd most likely wear this perfume during the evening/night. So glad I gave this perfume a try!

Holy Smoke and I mean holy as in temples, shrines, mosques, churches.....and smoke as in incense. This is not a Jovan/white musk type of musk...which I like and used to consider mysterious till I put on Red Musk. I bought a gift set for myself with lotion, body wash, edt, and oil. I shamelessly layer it all. It is hard to explain so I will tell you what it is not: it is not soap, it is not flowers....and yet, it is not shrieking loud. Most prominent in Red Musk is that it does not have any retro vibe...but it is what those retro musks descriptions should be. So I will have my own sexual revolution now in 2015. And this revolution is not about overt raw sex....it is something more spiritual....

Yesterday I bought the edp and the oil. Both have low sillage but the longevity of the edp is very good. I sprayed it on my hand yesterday evening and when I woke up this morning I could still smell it after 10 hours. The oil however has rather poor longevity, I only bought it because I was thinking it's more concentrated than the edp, it is not! It does remind me of CK Shock and Chergui which I happen to like so that's a good thing. It is a bit less masculin than CK Shock but still very unisex. If you like clean white musk, this is not for you! edit: my husband seems to have taken a shine to it, I'll have to hide my bottles!

I love this perfume not only because of its sexy smoky scent but also because it's totally unisex - I'm thinking of buying this both for myself and my boyfriend. Perfect for men who don't like the regular sporty scents usually on the market, this one suits more of a bohemian man as well. Also, (I don't know if this is weird... maybe just a little) I can imagine this mixing quite well even with the smell of a little sweat, making this a great perfume for going out and about. For some reason to me this smells like very hot summer days in a big bohemian city, even though it's probably meant to be more of an autumn-winter scent.

I just love, love and love this. I agree with one of the reviewer here. That it has the same scent with the white musk for men Edt only that its warmer and I can say more better. I love the white musk for men but it doesn't have strength to last or project.Red Musk filled my needs on that,its like I found the happiness for my nose. Since this is a limited edition, restocking for back up needs to be done. Coz I know this heaven scent ain't gonna be around much longer. Target 10 bottles of 30ml Red Musk Perfume oil. May god help me on my journey collecting this heaven scent.

Yesterday, I have tried both the Eau De Parfum spray & Perfume oil. Red Musk beauty shines more in the perfume oil form I must say. For perfume oil, you can smells the depth, thickness, beauty & full bodied of this perfumes.As for the Eau De Parfum spray it was more like watered down version of this perfume and I don't like it on the first sniff after spray coz I can smell the alcohol which never happen with my 1st experience with the perfume oil.

It smells like a coniferous forest on a hot summer day, cozy and relaxing, perfect for colder weather, when I want something that reminds me of warmth and sun. I got myself an EDT (couldn't get any EDP). Unlike other reviewers, I find it decently lasting - I can still smell it in the end of a working day, so I consider it sufficient for an EDT. It seems expensive at first, but the bottle is large, so it should last me for a while.

After smelling this in the shop, I cannot wait to get my hands on it! At first sniff, I was very unsure about it but now I am hooked on it. I am so glad to finally find a warm, musky scent without strong floral notes as I think it will make the perfect night time perfume. The longevity is better than most musk based perfumes I've tried in the past so I don't need to worry about it running out fast. Very unusual but very gorgeous.

This is one of the first perfumes I bought for myself and wore regularly. I love it during the fall and winter holidays. The one drawback is that I find it distinctive enough that I am not always comfortable wearing too much of it in some situations. Like at the office, for instance. I wish I could find a perfume that captures the same spicy notes while being offset by something else...but not something too floral or sweet.

I so ADORE this little gem. Tobacco, musky well balanced with pepper and cinnamon. Soapy, clean and very cormforting. Really great scent for the price. Body shop has some quite good perfumes in their collection. Silage is moderate and longevity is very pour on my... but I keep a small bottle in my purse when I wear it and respray through the day. Amazingly unisex.. I` m really fond of it !

The first time I wore it I was overwhelmed by the tobacco, it was so different than anything else I had ever worn. I was worried I had made a mistake. But I gave it some time and I really do love it. It's like a nice warm hug. Sometimes I even wear it to work. My biggest complaint it that it doesn't really last. Could be unisex. I wish it was a tad spicier. But it's a good basic.

I absolutely ADORE this one! It's so warm and spicy, I can't stop sniffing it. I love the smell of musk and the cinnamon blends very well, absolutely gorgeous! The only problem is the longevity. When I spray it on my arm I can only smell it for like 1 or 2 hours, very disappointing :-(. So if anyone can recommend me an alternative (except spicebomb or ck one shock for him :p)?

In my country it's not for sale untill november but they already had a tester behind the counter. The saleslady was surprised I asked about it. She let me try it and it I think I like it! It will be nice for winter. If you like CK Shock for men or Chergui you will probably like this too. It is very unisex and affordable.

I love this fragrance - spicy, creamy, woodsy and warm - but it just doesn't last on me more than 3 hrs. To me there is no point in wearing perfume unless I can know that it will be with me most of the day - 6-8 hrs. I've tried many perfumes and oils from TBS and really liked them but none of them had any longevity.

Oh, I finally got this fantastic scent! I initially wanted, of course, EDP, buuuuut since the Body Shop made a really great deal for EDT and body mist during it's sale, I got them. Got to say, so far I'm happy with it :) The scent is lovely just as I recalled.

Love the scent. Think about musk plus wood. Very unisex. Very sophisticated. The scent is not overpowering at all... The only thing about it is that I wish the smell is stronger so people literally don't have to get so close to me in order to smell it!

For those who love dry, woody, smoky arid scents. No confectionery cloyingness or "pomme d'amour" sticky fruitiness. May be considered unisex. Not complex, but different and doesn't try to go with the flow.

Reminds me of a softer V&R Spicebomb. As I adore Spicebomb, I'm thrilled for an affordable alternative. I have Red Musk in the edp and the oil. I hear it's been discontinued, so grab it while you can.

Very subtle and warm. This is one of those scents that develops the longer it's on your skin. Understated resin and spice is what comes through most for me... a body shop classic.

i can only smell musk... just musk... though it smells absolutely wonderful and i love, it i'm a bit disappointed coz i couldn't smell tobacco at all! :(

Quite a sexy, warm scent. This one smells different, the cinnamon makes it unique. It's a shame this doesn't last at all.

Summary: cozy cinnamon soap scent. Comfortable and nice. Unusually fresh and clean for a cinnamon. Near skin scent only. I own the perfume oil. UPDATE: performs much more beautifully if I apply more generously and the day is warmer. This second time it feels more round and well-developed, and no longer missing anything to my taste. It is a warm but clean musk with a fresh and not too sweet cinnamon, and actually projects at arm's length. --- To be honest, I was almost disappointed when I first applied the oil. Upon application while it is still wet, I could almost only smell the soapy-ish musk, with maybe a hint of spices, but mostly an airy and soapy musk. Similar to White musk if you stripped it of all the flowers and added something vaguely warm. From the reviews, I was expecting a masculine scent, dark, smoky, and I got none of it. So my expectations were shattered. As usual with perfume oils, upon drying and warming up it started developing more. I still don't get any tobacco, but the cinnamon comes through beautifully here. Not the sweet-ish, dessert-ish kind of cinnamon. In my skin, it's dry cinnamon bark mixed with soapy white musk, which I end up registering as cinnamon scented glycerin soap. The sillage is pretty small, and after a pair of hours you can only smell it putting your nose to my skin. It does linger there for a long time. After 3 hours: It's cozy, simple and warm, perfectly office-safe, but I sure am glad I bought it half price. It's cozy and warm but for me seems to lack something. Update, after 7 hours: the scent is still here and I am starting to enjoy it a lot as a skin scent. This musk does not die :) and the result is an unusually clean and fresh cinnamon scent. I really feel like I washed up with cinnamon glycerin soap, and I actually am enjoying it. It's the warm, cozy embrace of a soft blanked after a nice warm shower now, and it's quite serene and lovely. It WAS a good purchase after all :D

*This is a review for Perfume Oil* Overall, its a quite nice scent. warm spicy and smooth. It might offensive to whom doesn't like spicy fragrance, although its only for the opening. This scent is a bit feminine because of its sweetness from cinnamon, but not too feminine, so I think its still suitable for guy. For guy, layering this frag. with woody, musky or leather based perfume might works well and makes this frag. a perfect base for layering. Sillage of this perfume is not so good. Well, I took the perfume oil, so can't really count for its sillage. Longevity is good, especially it's dry down. It can last for about 6 hours (but very very weak). If you want a stronger base for layering, I'd recommend the original White Musk perfume oil. Opening is warm spicy. The cinnamon makes the pepper smells very smooth, round and warm (from tabacco, I guess). I guess the musk also build its smoothness. But the opening is gone pretty fast. (Feedback from my friend: It smells like "uncle" perfume) in about 30 min, Musk has start to overcome the pepper, makes the pepper almost unnoticeable. Cinnamon and tabacco plays well and make somehow beautiful harmony. It reminds me of cola-like smell Personally, I don't really like this phase because its weak and I usually already re-apply within this phase. After around 3-4 hours, all the pepper totally gone, only musk with cinnamon some hint of tabacco left. The dry down is very musky and similar with the original white musk. If you like White Musk's dry down, then you'd like this perfume's dry down too....

I tried it today in a rare TBS Shop left and I was quite impressed on the spot, together with Libertine. I'm totally not a fan of flagship White Musk. The opening is a blustful of spices, unisex towards masculin, warm, excting and inviting, invigorating and only a little sweet. Must be the cinnamon. I quite like cinnamon in perfumes during winter. I like Amarige Mariage and the long mourned Aroma Allegoria Exaltant. It's a smell that could fit a man or a woman, no particularly gender-related, but in this phase it lean towards masculin as for it is usually thought to be. In the drydown knots come to comb: laundry musk. Not a bad one but quite typical of this era. Since real springy animals are left alone, "musk" has two distinct destinies, both chemical: the laundry or the loo. Red Musk falls in the laundry type with spices. Quite pleasant, even if in this phase it leans towards a female scent. Anyway I'm not a fan of the drydown because it strongly reminds me of a few things: - the drydown of any Axe or ambery Malizia/Intesa deo spray sold at supermarket. - a laundry shop that strongly smelled like this when I was a kid and used to go there with my dad and the lady gave me sugar drops from a decorated tin. - a similar smell, only less intense coming from the typical starch/stiffener spray that moms used for ironing in those years (a different era in facts). It has the same smell that my auntie's clothes had. Longlasting in EdP with 1 drop of oil, sillage is initially strong then it keeps fading, but the scent last very long on the skin.

This review is for the Red Musk Perfume Oil. I have and love TBS Smoky Poppy EDT, which was only available in my country for a very limited time as part of a Valentine's Day gift set. I tested the Red Musk EDT in store vaguely; and remember it being quite different to this Perfume Oil. I find that the Perfume Oil is much lighter in comparison. On my skin; it's almost just a skin scent with little projection; unlike EDT or EDP versions. I mostly detect cinnamon, and musk, with a hint of tobacco. There is a soapy sweetness quality to it. The Perfume Oil is not overwhelmingly spicy like other oriental scents, making it ideal to wear in warmer weather too. It's actually great as I have enough strong and spicy scents for winter. It also makes a good oil 'base' for other fragrances which may be lacking a little spice, longevity or depth. I really enjoy the applicator that comes with it; dispenses just the right amount of oil onto your wrists (or preferred area), and I find something a bit therapeutic about massaging it in. It certainly creates a 'warm sensation' on skin. I think this would make a great body/massage oil too, just like the Smoky Poppy one which sadly got discontinued before I even got a chance to try it. Overall, I'm very glad to have this in my collection. It's something I probably wouldn't buy for myself, yet I've found it very useful, especially when comes to layering with other fragrances. I had a sample of this when it first launched and I really enjoyed it. I've been waiting and waiting for The Body Shop to put it on some kind of sale (because they always have sales and I feel silly paying full price for anything), but in my country it was marked as "new release" for two straight years. I eventually gave up and bought a bottle. A month after that it went on sale. Well, that irrelevant story aside, I was thrilled to finally have it, but I got bored of it in less than a month. Originally it smelled very complicated and spicy/smokey to me, but then all of a sudden all I was getting was sweetness (SO MUCH sweetness) and cinnamon. I took a break from smelling it for a few months and when I tried it again, it did smell better (I must be turning anosmic to it very quickly). I never got any musk in it to begin with. If it's even there, it must be overtaken by spices. Another irrelevant piece of information. The sprayer on mine is faulty. It fails to let air in the bottle, so after a few sprays it gets stuck and I have to turn the bottle upside down and let it "inhale" some air for it to work again. I would take it back to TBS, but the girl at the counter didn't give me receipt and I was stupid not to go back and ask for it. I tried switching the nozzle caps with another TBS perfume and that didn't help. The problem seems to be in the valve. Irrelevant, but pisses me off all the same.

I tried the perfume oil of this scent. Seems to be very long lasting, at least on me, which is a surprise since most scents fade on me within a few hours. It's got a nice jammy quality that I wasn't expecting based on the description; not like any particular fruit, but the tobacco has a heavy warmth and sweetness. I'm not getting much cinnamon from it, just a bit of generic spice. I mostly detect just the same mild-sweet musk I smell in the Body Shop's other musk scents (smells a bit like Dove soap to me), and the tobacco. I could see this working on a man, however that sweet-jammy quality makes me feel like it's perfectly well suited for women as well, and I tend to shy away from wearing most unisex scents, as I tend to prefer very feminine scents. Because some women are saying it smells more masculine, I have to imagine that it is reacting very differently to our body chemistry, or that the perfume oil is sweeter than the eau de toilette or parfum. Final thoughts: while this isn't for me and I won't be seeking out a bottle (although, if it's ever 75% through the holidays, I may be tempted...), I think it's a lovely scent that somebody who likes these notes may really enjoy. Much more unique than a lot of what's out there, and reasonably priced.

Absolutely gorgeous. I adore this perfume oil! The scent is sensuous and cozy. The opening is a tiny bit camphorous, but I love the cinnamon here, it's a sexy oriental cinnamon, warm and spicy-sweet, not a foody cinnamon. I also detect something like a dried-fruit note. Combined with alot of smooth musk, dry wood, and a very mild tobacco note. Some here are saying Red Musk smells masculine or unisex, but I personally find this scent to be very feminine in a lush, exotic, intimate sense, like something I would imagine a beautiful belly-dancer's skin to smell like. I only wish that there was an actual perfume that smells like the perfume oil does. Something with an actual sillage trail and of a better quality, because this stuff smells precious, but even in oil form it only lasts around 6 hours with soft sillage. This is the perfect everyday scent for fall, it certainly captures the mood. I'm single at the moment, but smelling this stuff on myself makes me long for romantic cuddles by a fireplace with a special someone...I would wear this stuff for that, maybe with a couple spritzes of JPG's Classique edt for abit more oomph. I would love to try the edp and edt soon.

Very nice spicy musk scent - I have the 30ml. oil. Opens with some menthol, then develops into a warm musky skin scent: peppery, somewhat smokey with a beautiful touch of cinnamon. Warm, rounded, cuddly with a kick. Red Musk certainly has a character, without being in your face offensive. Definitely suitable for fall & winter, but I can also imagine wearing this on steamy summer days. When I tried it in store I immediately loved it and took it home. Sadly for me this turned out to be a 'like' rather than love, because it seems to disappear on me? Maybe I'm partly anosmic, but after 2 or 3 hours there's hardly any trace left. Even right after application, it seems mostly a skin scent on me. For a bold-ish spicy scent like this, I prefer a bit more sillage and longevity. Perhaps I'll buy the lotion + edt / edp for layering, to get a bit more life out of this beauty.

Sexy! Very, very sexy. I love it. When I got it, I wasn't very well-versed on fragrances so I actually wore it during the day (bad idea, it's definitely more night-time appropriate). The scent itself is really nice. It's hot, spicy, dark. The notes are a little deceiving; it smells like a lot more than just 4 notes. The musk is nice because it takes off the 'hot' edge a bit and makes it slightly refreshing. I can't wear the regular white musk because I know someone who wears it so I associate it with that person...so it's nice to have that musk in a new, very different fragrance from TBS. The bottle is also really cool, and that black to orange ombre is a perfect representation of how it actually smells. A hot, dark, fiery sunset. Nice.

I didn't think I was going to like this as soon as I put it on, but the longer I wear it the more I do. It started out rather fruity but the tobacco and musk come out more in the drydown. It has kind of a retro 80s feel, but not in a dated or old fashioned way. More in the way that fashion trends come back around again. I get images of my elementary school when I smell this. I love tobacco scents, but unfortunately most seem paired with vanilla, which I don't care for. The cinnamon gives it a soft sweetness that isn't cloying. There's something a little bit musty - not in a bad way, but in a nostalgic way like the vintage sweater you just pulled out of storage. The price is right too!

I find the oil and the perfume to be completely different scents. I own the oil, and have a preference for it because it is more subtle and soapy. I like that the sillage is very close to the skin. Longevity is average. I do pick up on the smoky tobacco, cinnamon, and musk—yet they oddly come across as clean. I am only able to wear it in colder months. I envy those that can wear this in the heat. The perfume spray is sexy and bold—very jazzy. It has more of a toughness to it compared to the oil, yet both have their charm. They could both be unisex.

I sampled Red Musk the other day and was a bit disappointed. It's not a bad fragrance (quite likable) but it didn't remind me of Spicebomb nor was it as dark as I had expected. To me, Red Musk smells a lot like White Musk with a touch of cinnamon and perhaps a bit more woodsy. I love White Musk as an out-of-the-shower/evening-at-home fragrance, but this one misses the mark and is a pass. However, it is a likable fragrance so give it a try since it may be just what you're looking for and will make that magical nose-fragrance connection.

Another pleasant surprise by the Body shop! Lately been inspired it seems:) Red musk is a no nonsense tobacco, spices and musk concoction; the warm cinnamon is blended very nicely with a pipe-ish tobacco, and a whiff of spice and pink pepper i guess adds an elegant touch. The opening even has a dry cherry liqueur type-thing. Totally genderless, even on the masculine side. Interesting, affordable, cant go wrong with this one. No fruits or sugar in sight yeeey! scent: 7/10 longevity: 4/10 sillage: 4/10
