Satsuma

a lovely.. realistic.. mandarin/orange.. like the flesh of sweet juicy.. succulent ...summer time mandarins/oranges.. a bit from the rind smell.. more from the actual flesh of the mandarin smell.. its a perfume you can almost drink.. so uplifting.. so innocent.. so beautiful.. fresh.. non nauseating.. great for a wake up call.. for after a shower.. even for kids.. a refreshing.. mandarin splash like effect.. great for hot weather ..almost cooling..i wish it lasted longer.. you'll either have to keep replying.. or do what i did.. and use the entire line.. starting from the shower gel to the amazing body sorbet.. which is not a cream ..nor a gel.. its a perfect cooling solution.. for those who don't use lotions and oils.. like me.. and the amazing body splash which i even like more than the tiny perfume.. its only 30 ml.. perfect to carry around.. and the body mist is a 100 ml in a glass bottle ..you can use it as a light perfume.. i still didn't get the oil.. but i will.. to use in a burner.. or just a dab in a cotton to smell all day.. or just a drop in a bath.. or a rub after a shower.. although i dont use oils.. but i'll make an exception here.. for its such a lovely.. invigorating.. uplifting.. truly mesmerizing scent.. that just makes you feel good.. and happy ..all day.. i think its a great antidepressant.. in a bottle ..its truly some of natures natural antidepressants, i mean the mandarin peel ..and flesh.. there is something sacred about it.. in Chinese and continese culture the mandarin tree and fruit are sacred.. and they celebrate their Chinese new year with lots of mandarins.. and those people don't joke.. they have some of the universe most hidden and oldest secrets of well being.. and balance.. i feel this perfume really balances your inner energies.. and puts you in a harmonious place.. it reminds me a bit of gurline manderine basilic ..and annick goutal d'hardien.. and i am sure its similar to the iconic atilier orange sangina.. all in all its a perfect summer time.. even al year round pick me up.. lift me up..happy me .. scent!.. its more of a natural therapy type of scent.. a scent(not a perfume).. that just makes you say wow.. as if you ve just peeled a mandarin ..and the smell is in your hands.. its not as green.. not as pungent... its tamed down.. almost a bit sweet.. as when u eat the flesh of it ..the body spray version has a more citrucy.. less sweet.. more invigorating side to it.. due to the more alcohol and water concentration.. the volatile oils and aroma of mandarin peel run freely there ..having more room to expand.. and mesmerize your whole being.. the atoms run freely ..and have more space freedom to be free ..and happy ..and alive.. and free.. in the perfume everything is more condensed.. not as bright.. as the body mist.. but i use them all together.. to get better longevity.. i wish i can find a perfume that smells like this and lasts all day.. its a dream ..and its so hard to realize.. for top notes flee the scene so fast ..before you can even enjoy them ..20 min tops ..and re apply.. but deep inside you ll feel the bliss for a good 4 to 6 hours if you've used the entire line religiously.. also they entire line is pretty affordable.. and a pleasure to use and will last .. its a perfume i ve been craving and looking for for so long i am so glad i found it and i am loving it i don't think i ve been this happy about any purchase in the past couple of years this really made me so happy its simple beautiful not acidic almost mellow a hint creamy on my skin and yet full of mandarin and no annoyance what so ever no white florals jasmine or cloying accords just pure bliss vibrant mandarines with a calm serene almost holy grail i just wanna keep smelling my entire body the entire time it feels like you are in a mandarin vineyard or a magical garden an o rangier ps its not as dead of a tangerine as the hermes mandarin amberete

I love clementines. In the winter, they are the best antidote to depression -- cold, juicy, slightly tangy, mostly sweet. My family buys them by the box (usually two wooden ones at a time) the contents of which disappear very quickly. Whenever I peel one, little droplets of clementine essence spray out and disappear into my sweater, lingering there for the rest of the day and giving me a little lift. The Body Shop Satsuma has exactly the same effect. While I love my musky signature Narciso, I've taken to wearing Satsuma a lot lately because the weather up here has been depressing (grey, windy, snowless) and so is the fact that I'm back in school. The Body Shop's version has that same clementine essence from a freshly-peeled citrus fruit, with an additional little bit of candy, instantly making me feel fresh, happy, awake, and alive. Interestingly enough, Satsuma first caught my attention on a guy's bathroom shelf (at an apartment I AirBnb'd at while backpacking in Europe), which means it can be worn by both sexes -- or really anyone who needs some cheering up. Perfect for the cold winter months. Enjoy!

εïз ❥ This lovely scent got my attention from the Satsuma body butter it was inspired by. I absolutely love this delicious tangerine/clementine concoction . My love for this simple yet delicious scent stems from cases of sweet candy clementines when a great batch pops up at the market. It is also one of my most favorite fruits. I am also obsessed with this scent, and all the products from this fragrance line. This is my favorite to wear in the summer , as it lingers well with the heat. I also like layering this with both the shower gel & body lotion ,for a nice base in summer. On its own it can be a bit weak in longevity ,depending on the person’s body chemistry. I find longevity is great when applied over the lotion and after using the shower gel. If you like fruity scents that smell delicious then give this a try. The sillage on this fragrance is strong. This will always have a place in my collection. εïз ❥

Who else went into The Body Shop in your mall twentysomething years ago (this is far older than 2012--- at least the bath products are) and sniffed around, where you eventually landed on Satsuma and exclaimed, "Wah wah WEE wah, that's tangerine times 1,000!"? That's Satsuma. On my skin, Satsuma perfume lasts about 3 hours. In hair, on clothes, or on a suede purse it's more like 8+. It's juicy, electric, edible, a definite soli-fruit, and fun. It's sweet but great for layering under a hespirides or even over a musky floral like Narciso Rodriguez. It's fairly true that I own Satsuma in some incarnation at all times. It fizzes and lifts the soul.

One of my all-time favorites. This smells just like oranges. It almost reminds me of a very toned down and simplified version of Clinque Happy. The word "groovy" comes to mind for describing this scent because I associtate citrus scents like this with the 70s. Sunny, tangy, fresh, smells like something Marcia Brady would wear. This is a great unisex scent because it's such an unoffensive fragrance it can be enjoyed by anybody. Like most of The Body Shop sprays it's also a good starter scent for kids because it's subtle enough that they can spray a lot of it without nauseating everyone around them.

I love this by itself! Yes, it's purely orange...but like the best orange you could imagine: super juicy & sweet! This is also great for layering with other scents! For some reason, my body chemistry completely absorbs most citrus notes...but not this! Try layering with Gold Sugar and smell like Orange Dreamsicles all day! I also layer this with Cafe Puro Iced (Light Blue copy cat) so the citrus notes remain detectable. And lastly, I have great scent memories tied to this fragrance. My "big sister" at high school gave me the glycerine soap of this my first day of high school...I still love it!

Satsuma is the only Body Shop scent range I really love. After using the shower products for quite some time, I was pleasantly surprised to find out about the perfume! It smells absolutely delicious, sweet yet fresh, just like the fruit. I can't decide whether I want to take a bath in this or just drink it. It's so uplifting! Longevity isn't perfect, but in my experience that goes for most TBS scents. The bottle is small enough to carry it around in your purse, so it's not a deal breaker for me :)

Since the rainy season is starting to take my sumshine away, I want to have a taste of summer every day with this fragrance, TBS satsuma. It wraps me with a burst of fresh oranges, and deliciously wraps my skin in citrusy sweetness. It does not give me a headache. For some saying that it smells like a car freshener, i dobt think so. There is a note of creaminess that comfortably relaxes my senses and jolts my energy with excitement when I start to sweat. Yummy throughout the day.

A juicy, tangy, sweet orange burst with a slight candied note. I remember all the girls wearing the satsuma perfume and body butter in high school. It’s such a refreshing and delicious citrus scent. (That says a lot coming from me because most citrusy fragrances remind me of cleaning products and I can’t stand them, but the satsuma scent is the perfect refreshing citrus.) The satsuma line is a classic from The Body Shop.

I adored this when I was in high school. This is a true, pure orange smell - it's like when you peel a satsuma, accidentally sink your thumb into the flesh and the juice squirts out onto your hand. It doesn't last very long, but it's such a happy, bright and nostalgic scent for me that I think I'll always love it - the soap smells identical to the spray and takes me straight back to being 13 every time.

Fresh out of the shower, this is awesome. I layer it with some Avon vanilla body spray sometimes to change it up. But on it's own, it's one of the best orange-tangerine scents out there. I can't say how many satsuma products I've bought over the years from this body mist, soaps, shower gels, body scrubs and even the home fragrance oil for my tealight warmers. It's just an all around feel good scent.

Smells just like satsuma for sure, very fresh when you spray it. This is great during the summer however, it doesn’t last more than a few minutes. It’s something that you have to constantly respray and keep in your bag. It only a projects for the moment you spray it and that’s it. It tends to settle down shortly after, I wouldn’t buy it again due to the poor longevity.

This is a fresh and zesty citrus scent. Totally orange/clementine, but with a sparkle that sort of reminds me of opening a can of sprite and those tingles in your nose as you're taking your first sip. It's delightful and refreshing. I have Escada's Taj Sunset, which is a syrupy, sickeningly sweet comparison, and way more expensive. I'll stick with this zesty scent!

Those who already love the body products named Satsuma : The Soap bar, shower gel and body butter won't be dispaointed at all ! This perfume really smells like them ! The lasting power is not very good, but it's not expensive either , guess you have to use the whole body set to make it stay longer , but if you're a fan of this unique smell , you will buy it !

I love it, it's so fresh and citrusy. Smells like fresh oranges. Uplifting, I would say. This is what I like in scents these days. This one creates positive emotions, a good start for the day. Edit: I'm afraid, the longevity of this one is a big joke. It literally don't even last 5 minutes, it's gone right away.

Satsuma is the only scent from TBS that I really like. It's zesty,fresh,orangey perfection. I layer this edt with the shower gel,body puree,body mist and my treasured Satsuma perfume oil. Ooh I'm a walking sunshine!! and this scent actually won't offend anyone on hot days.Hope TBS won't discontinue this gem.

Loved this. Bought it years ago as a tween and I just love it. I love citrus scents especially anything similar to orange or mandarin and this is just that. Not everyone likes it but its fresh and tangy. It’s pretty much the exact scent when you first peel open a satsuma or a mandarin or the skin of it.

I have the body mist and I totally ADORE it! It is amazing! If the edt smells like the mist does, I am going to get it for myself tomorrow, and will be back to report on it :) Edit. got it, and it's fabulous! Does not last that long, a few hours, but still well worth the price (which was 15€).

This is body shop's best fragrance. I love smelling this on people in the summer. Gorgeous sugary bright orange scent. I also use it as room spray in the summer. I actually like that the sillage and longevity is on the shorter and smaller side, as this could become cloying in the sun

I actually really love this fragrance and I buy it every time body shop restocks it. It is simply delicious, subtle and not too strong. It smells like fresh satsuma/clementine and although it doesn ́t last all day it fits well enough for everyday use. Suitable for every age.

literally the best orange smell. she does exactly what she says on the bottle and she does it at maximum level at all times. she's uncomplicated. unbothered. staying in her lane. what an incredible body spray. i love her. body shop satsuma they can never make me hate you

I love this smell it’s just sooooo good and zesty and uplifting. I wish they brought the EDT version of this back because I would definitely snap it up. Can’t justify buying the mist since it such a weak performer. You can’t dislike this, it’s just invigorating.

This scent is so uplifting! Citrus can be sour or artificial at times. This perfume is fruity, sweet and soft in a natural way. I never ate satsuma but I guess this is how a very ripe one would smell. It's simple to understand and very summery.

It's simple, but good; so I'll keep this simple, but honest. This fragrance is juicy, true to name, and it rocks. I have the lotion (they're more heavily scented than the sprays), as well as the shower gel. TBS did well on this! 👏🍊

Orange PEZ. I love it. Juicy sweet candied tangerine with a tiny bit of musk. Kind of the less musky tangerine version of Pamplelune. Wish it lasted longer and wasn't gone in the blink of an eye.

A happy and refreshing orange scent which smells pretty natural and realistic to me. The lasting power isn’t great, but the bottle is small and easy to bring with you.

If you want to smell like freshly peeled tangerines (like I occasionally do in the summer), buy it! The Body Shop's perfumes are very affordable, too.

A wonderful scent! I love mixing it with the cranberry, too, in the oil burner or wax, etc. Great alone but also a good scent "mixer".

I adore it. I love satsumas and this is just a photorealistic satsuma. The Body Shop is so good at these fruit solinotes.

Mandarin and nothing but. A wonderful, juicy, straightforward citrus. It will make your mouth water.

Pure orange juicy bliss 🧡🍊 I've been trying to find another bottle for years

I have been using Satsuma scented products since the early 2000's. The bright, sweet tangerine is so juicy and refreshing. The EDT and body mist that are available are very nice but have fairly weak performance on their own, but layering with the body products really help the performance. I really miss the fragrance oil The Body Shop used to carry. That stuff was amazing the scent was more true to a super juicy, sweet orange (the EDT had a bit of an alcohol blast that never really goes away). The body wash and body butter are still all time loves for me. I have used up my EDT and I probably won't repurchase it, I find they body products are much more pleasant to the nose and far out perform the fragrance. Now if they ever bring back the fragrance oil, I will be all over that.

First try if this, summer test. Um, yeah, I'm not massively impressed by the body shop offerings but they can play their part in a frag wardrobe, they are more inexpensive than the dept store choices. I don't get the accords listed so much... for citrus I get grapefruit, with a little bitterness, I guess fruity, I wouldn't call this sweet. I don't know what terpenic is. Green I guess in the background softy Narcotic I don't know what this smells like. I would probably pass on this, but I would take it over say, the sweet strawberry one, or... I dunno. For me it's needs layering to really be worthwhile, and I've got other bottle to use up so no hurry.

I have been using Satsuma bath products for years so was quite curious when they came out with the mist. I'm a big fan of citrus but not a fan of sweet at all. I feel this is muted down enough to not be overbearingly sweet fortunately. I do not however use this as my daily/nightly fragrance, it is more of a fresh out of the shower spritzer that I also spray around me in the bathroom (and I agree it is a pleasant home deodorizing scent too). I have begun to really enjoy layering so I am trying to figure out which non citrusy fragrance I have to blend it with since I do find it has good longevity and the right amount of sillage too.

Before I discovered I loved fragrance this was all I wore. It was the only Body Shop Body Butter scent I liked hence I got many gifts of it over the years and the spray is often included in the gift sets. Now the sweet (creamsicle?) smell seems naive and childish to me buy I do still use the body butter almost daily at the lake in the summer as it is great for keeping the mosquitoes at bay and for that purpose smells much better that OFF! This summer I am going to try layering with some other citrus and florals ~ I think it will provide a good solid base from which to paint some pretty pictures.

It is a very simple ripe orange (mandarin) scent. It leans sweet but not that gourmandy sweet; but citrus sweet. Summer and spring appropriate, more of a day time scent. I believe it is a very unisex perfume. It is a casual fragrance, easy reach, nothing special but very practical. The only con is that the longevity of the perfume is so bad. Mostly 2 to 3 hours, maybe 5 hours on your clothes, at the most. It is a light scent and does not project heavily, with which I have no problem. Keeping it simple.

This opens up with a prickly effervescent effect of mandarine bits and silky honey-like note. At that stage, it's resemblance to the scent in the other range seems a bit blurry. However, as it settles, you get the characteristic Satsuma smell - like a lovely golden yellow synthetic tangerine scent that makes you feel happy and bright. Soft silage but it gives the impression of freshly washed skin so that's real pleasant. Longevity around 2-3 hours.

This was my signature scent back in high school. Anyone else remember the days when The Body Shop was like an apothecary with all of the glass bottles of body oil that they would decant for you into little glass bottles? This was, for me, an introduction into fragrance. It was just an overall happy scent of citrus. I have a regular bottle with atomizer now which I still like but nothing was as good as the original oil from back in the late 90s.

This is not a light and refreshing citrus for the hottest summer days. It is far too sugary and tart for that. If you're a fan of citrus candy, with all it's bittersweetness and tart and distinct artificial smell, you'll really like this one. Unfortunately it wasn't what I expected from sniffing a tester paper but that doesn't make it a bad scent at all, it's just more of a gourmand than a citrus.

This is so fresh and tangy! Smells very effervescent but it's more of a tangy candy orange than a natural green orange. I don't think it could be worn well alone but it's a nice one for layering with summer tropical fragrances (or even some orientals), and for the price, it's a very unique take on citrus to add to your collection. There's not that many sour/tangy gourmands that I can think of.

A lovely, simple scent that smells just like actual orange juice. It's not my favourite thing in the entire world, but very affordable and a fun simple fragrance for summer, which is why I will probably get this one. I think it's perfect for very hot summer days when you want to smell fresh and lovely yet not too tangy.

Satsuma winter test This is for the ...actually I can’t recall if I sprayed the edt or the body mist. As the notes say, citrus, but I get a bitterness, green ness. Refreshing, fresh, clean, bitter. Much better in the winter. Summer -not for me. Lasts fine for what it is, several hours softly.

I really like using this after a shower with the same scent shower gel and body butter. It is so delicious! The only downside is that it really doesn’t last long and the sillage isn’t great... It smells so fresh and clean, it really heightens my mood on a nice Summers day ☀️

Sweet, delicious, tangy. I suppose I started trying these linear fragrances because I'm looking for the best, affordable, citrus scents. Something to replace Ralph Rocks perhaps. But I am not an orange and I don't want to smell like one. Possibly good for layering.

I love this! Juicy, sweet, but still clean. Feels great after a refreshing shower on hot days. A ripe tangerine with a touch of sophistication. It doesn't last very long, but doesn't become funky after repeated sprays either. Crowd pleaser, low risk.

I prefer Satsuma over the mango. I'd wear it to the beach.. or maybe just by myself in my room indulging in it. I wouldn't want this to be my signature scent and I wouldn't want to smell like this all the time, but it's nice for what it is.

it's literally an orange sprayed out of a bottle - i actually really like how fresh and clean it smells but you have to respray SO MUCH, i keep it in my bag and probably spray every hour or two

This is very true to the fruit -- sweet and tart, just like peeling the fruit. Delicious, refreshing, great for casual wear as a pick me up in the morning especially. Lasts two hours on me.

The most true, linear orange scent I have ever tried. Reminds me of putting orange essential oil on a vaporizer to try to dispel headaches, but fresher and sweeter.
