Tender Tonka

This scent is not talked about enough. It's gorgeous for its price and surprisingly pretty long lasting (and it's EDT!!). I pick up a very forward incense and suede with a touch of sweetness and warmth from the tonka and vanilla orchid. It's so light but so aromatic. There's also a bit of pepper in the opening and more powdery florals in the dry down. It's pretty linear but yet so well blended and well done! It's such a perfect sweater weather scent when you want something comforting and warm but not overpowering. It has a smoky quality but EDT makes it so light and somehow clean? I think it's more suede forward in the opening but it dries down into a sweeter peppery vanilla. I absolutely love it. First time I smelled it, I couldn't believe that Body Shop released something of this profile as it's not floral or fruity but it's an incredible quality and unbeatable value. I was told it was limited edition so was tempted to get a second bottle but decided to finish the one first as I already have too many fragrances, but I hope it will stay around for a while because I'd definitely repurchase it. I wish the matching body butter was also available everywhere as it would be such a wonderful layering combo to try and it would go so well with all my woody, incense and vanilla forward fragrances. 10/10 worth the money

I really haven't seen anyone talk about this enough, and I have been using this product for over a month now, so I thought I would give my opinion. This is an absolutely lovely autumnal scent if you enjoy a tonka and incense scent. In the dry down I can smell a very sweet suede note which is pleasant and not overpowering. I've been wearing the body butter and the perfume to bed recently as I am waiting for the temperature to drop for autumn, and I can smell the perfume on my pyjamas the next morning. This is a light scent which lasts on my skin for about 2 hours, layered with the body butter. I also have the body mist version in my bag so I reapply a couple of sprits through out the day to top up on the scent. I have received many compliments on the body butter when I apply it around people, so sweet and creamy ! So to conclude, this is not a strong scent but smells lovely on the skin and I think it is a very fair price for a cruelty free, and vegan product. I own the body butter, the eau de toilette, and the body mist, which totals to £55, not bad.

This is just amazing - it smells like toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate with vanilla syrup. It's very sweet and the incense isn't offputtingly smokey, it's much rather a cosy fragrance. Such a perfect autumn/ winter fragrance and definitely less suited to the heatwave we're having in the UK right now. The longevity and projection are surprisingly phenomenal too - definitely radiates further than arm's length and after spraying this 5-ish hours ago, it's still going strong on my skin. Layered with the body butter it lasts even longer. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking for a crowdpleasing, sweet, interesting fragrance for the cooler months.

Loved it on paper, and love it more on my skin. It starts of reaaally incense-y, but after 10 minutes it develops into straight up cinnamon, vanilla and a soft suede. And I’ve been longing to find fragrance that smells like cinnamon (I know it’s not in the list), those types of fragrances being so hard to find since many people are allergic to it.

I got to say this might be one of my best blind buys ever, as soon as you spray this you might get a slight medicinal note but it disappears instantly, then you get the smoky Tonka with some ambery notes (i think from the suede), it's a very sweet amber vanilla with smokiness from the incense, amazing for the fall

It lingers into this personal bittersweet skin scent. perhaps if 78% dark chocolate was a person wearing a leather jacket and some vanilla oil came to life, it'd smell like this. There is a sensual tinge to it, a languid seductive accord on a warm neck. Sophisticated hedonism, a modern overworked Ivan Karamazov.

Warm and fuzzy, more an autumnal scent but I'm wearing it in summer too as it layers nicely with fruity florals Definitely my favourite body shop product

I did not expect to love a scent from the body shop this much. The opening notes seem like a light oud (i guess that is the suede) before the tonka bean and vanilla take over. The fragrance is not super strong and does not have lasting power unfortunately but it is quite lively nonetheless. Similar to Commodity Milk Bold

This was a nice surprise. This leans more into the spiciness and softness of the Tonka. I did not get a strong rose note as listed. This is a great every day fragrance if you like incense/tonka fragrances. It is soft and not loud. It has good lasting power. The price point is very affordable. I would purchase again.

Deep and gourmand-y with some smoky notes that ends up reading chocolatey for me. It feels very cozy fall/winter in my opinion. Have been complimented on it once, told I smell like a vanillary hot chocolate. which isn't how it smells out of the bottle. Do with that information what you will.

Nice unisex fragrance, very woody. Unfortunately disappointing for me, since I had hoped it would smell exactly like the body butter from the same line - in truth it's far less sweet and 'tender', and has that sharper smoky/woody/incense smell to it. Not bad in its own right, but not what I'd hoped it would be.

I wanted to love this so bad, but alas it smells like baby powder and old barbie dolls somehow. But I'll hand it to the tender tonka EDT, it stays around! Unfortunately it is not a welcome quality for me or my household for this scent since we all are quite bothered by the strong sneeze inducing powderness. But a well performing parfume is something to applaud! So good for you the body shop, this EDT is a beast! The body mist does not have the same lasting powder but it is good enough. They smell alike but they are not identical. The body mist is more smoky and incense-y while the EDT is more rounded yet peppery. Both are equally powdery and nauseating to me and my household unfortunately. I have other parfumes with tonka and musk that also have a powdery note but no parfume has ever made me sneeze like this before or caused headaches for the household. None of us are allergic either so for me this is a big no, so beware, try this before buy id say. Because as I wrote in the beginning I really wanted to love this sooo bad! But it was not to be for me. The comments here and on social media sold me on it before sniff, so im very happy right now I sprayed it on me in store and let it settle for a day instead of blind buying it.

As its name says, this is a tender tonka fragrance: transparent, invigorating, not too sweet, not too peppery, just sort of nice and gender neutral. The eponymous tonka is paired with spicy, herbal and woody notes, whereas the florals are subdued. Since tonka is usually used as a base note, I can not escape this association; to me, this scent feels as if I fell right in the middle of it, skipping the opening and feeling like I'm missing out on something. This scent doesn't last long on my skin, but projects nicely, yet never overwhelms. If you love tonka, you should try this one.

Very soft and smokey. I really like it, because itt has a really tender quality. Reminds me of chestnut with whipped cream, the hungarian treat I just love it.
