Crown Esterhazy

This is THE BEST citrus-perfume made! EVER! Lastingpower is beyond amazing & the scent is of real fresh lemon-juice! Nothing artificial about it. My no.1 citrus. And a signature for summer - always! This was created in 1874 for Princess Esterhazy. A classical citrus edp. A very uncomplicated, but fresh and enduring citrus fragrance- almost edible in its completeness. According to the legend. King George V, while at a state ball, was dancing a minuet with beautiful Princess Esterhazy, when her charming perfume attracted his attention and he inquired as to it's origin. The King's fascination and curiosity made Crown Esterhazy one of the most talked about scents in Crown's collection. Long before King George IV swept Princess Esterhazy off the dance floor and took her directly to his perfumer with the demand that he duplicate her wonderful perfume, generating 50 years of it being the most popular perfume in England, it belonged to another royal personage. First documented in 1370, it was either invented by Elisabeth, Queen of Hungary, or dedicated to her by a gypsy or by a hermit. A simple scent comprised of citrus, rose oil, orange blossom, mint and rosemary. Initially it smells of a lovely, clear lemon, which gives way to a gentle floral spiciness. Esterhazy is a beautiful, clean, clear refreshing soft lemonade. At first spray, lemon is strong, but after about 10 minutes, Esterhazy becomes a very close to skin scent. The spices are super gentle, barely there, smooth, blended with very slight touches of rose and orange blossom. A tiny touch of mint is virtually non-detectable, serving only to add an airy, uplifting quality. Esterhazy is a delicious, addictive blend, a soft slightly sweetened natural lemon beauty. Unfortunately, it fades away very fast, completely disappearing within one hour.

Esterhazy a wonderful citus experience. It is not bitter or tart, and it's not sweet, it's like making lemonade; it's freshly squeezed lemons, lemons, and more lemons with a dash of rosemary, mint and spice to give it a little umph. When you first spray this on there is no way to avoid the blast of lemon in your face, like when you are squeezing that lemon wedge into your iced tea and rather than going down into your drink it squirts up into your face. This is the citrus lover's scent at an affordable price, but sadly discontinued.

So much lemon. This is like a bright yellow cough drop that leans toward lemon cleaner. I do not like it, can't think of when I would ever wear this ... and yet I cannot stop smelling my wrist.
