Tanglewood Bouquet

An underrated gem! Although a previous reviewer's comparison to L'Heure Bleu initially prompted my purchase, I have nothing but good things to say about this somewhat misleading comparison. No, my nose gets little or nothing of a L'Heure Bleu vibe, but who am I to make pronouncements? I'm just delighted to have discovered this wearable and utterly old fashioned scent. :D The opening moments are a bit sharp and geranium like to my nose, then rapidly evolve into a perfect blend of resins, mild sweetness, and ancient spices. At no time is this an overwhelming or loud fragrance, rather an office appropriate scent with all the kudos of past joys and forgotten pleasures. Aside from the sharper floral opening, I find it to be unisex, provided you are one of those men or women who enjoy resinous sweetness and yellow florals. I expect true powder haters will need to avoid Tanglewood Bouquet ( thanks to my ever-favorite Heliotrope! ), but this accord is mild enough that a true powder FIEND like myself is not likely to think of powder on application. It's all about the Resin, friends! Rating - Sillage 2/5 Longevity 3/5 Quality 5/5!!!

Heartbreaking but this scent, along with all the classic Crown Perfumery perfumes, is being discontinued. Definitely a spicy rich floral but on my skin this is less Kenzo Elephant than L'Heure Bleue extremely amped up. Heliotrope, nutmeg and cinnamon are where this starts and after about half an hour the resins come up and it takes on a soft powdery note. Ideal for cold weather and interesting when layered with a soft leather scent. Well worth trying before it disappears. I LOVE how it smells on my skin after it has settle down. It's warm, gently spicy, very feminine and filled with emotions. I just imagine myself walking by the shoreland of an exotic beach one summer afternoon. I smelk a very delicate vanilla among white flowers and something spicy that blends all in an unforgettable way. To me this is a scent that stays in the memory. Greta Garbo used it and she was right, its a precious scent.

Tanglewood Bouquet with each spray, is intense, almost overpowering. Within a few minutes, it settles WAY down to a warm, very spicy yellow floral close-to-skin scent. Spices are stronger than the florals, but ylang-ylang remains heady, lasting throughout the drydown. Vanilla and soft white musk play minor supporting roles for the florals and spices. Tanglewood Bouquet is softly sweet, super spicy, and not at all powdery.

This perfume is spicy ylang-ylang that has an exotic feel to it. The spice smell comes from the nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and resins. It's a warm, sweet and sensual floral. Very nice and a recommend for everyone who can handle a heavier fragrance. I wouldn't wear this on a hot, sunny, summery day but it's well suited for a cooler spring or winter day. Wearing this perfume brightens my day.

I can very well see this fragrance was something ground breaking in its era, born 1932. This is a luscious, succculent huge floral, similar to Fracas... but a lilttle more subdued and woody in the drydown. As a matter of fact, you get an initial blast of Tuberose that will never leave. Not mentioned in the notes, but Tuberose ...as it happened. Then you can recognize other florals. There are white flowers, (heliotrope, tuberose, osmanthus take the lead). I notice Carnation, that gives depth and spiciness (again not mentioned in the notes, but... trust me there is!). Then this ripe, fruity note peach -could also be ylang and resins giving that sensation- lingers, like in Mitsouko. Not the sweet peachy notes we find in nowadays frags, but that sophisticated peachiness, the Mitsouko type. That alone makes this fragrance ranking high. Tanglewood is indeed a sophisticted floral, spicy, very feminine, very thirties, round and seducing. Drydown is spicy, the nutmeg is very pronounced. Longevity is excellent and sillage is opulent. They discontinued it... a crime. Try it if you can get hold of it.

TANGLEWOOD BOUQUET by Crown Perfumery is an extremely spicy floral. In fact, the ylang-ylang and heliotrope are dominated by the spices from the very opening, and as the florals fade, the spices assert themselves more and more. TB edp is a nice winter fragrance--it might be too much for summertime, especially given the holiday spices featured in this composition. In contrast to the typical oriental floral (a ma connaissance...), in this case, the florals embellish the spices, not the other way around. The musk, benzoin and resin also complement the powerful nutmeg and cinnamon. I thought that I was detecting pepper, too, but that appears to have been an olfactory illusion.

This is a heavy hitting heady spicy perfume,if you love KENZO JUNGLE ELEPHANT you should try this one, i dont so i gave it away to some one who can appreciate it.

Smells its age, but very nicely. First on it reminds me of L’Origan’s orange blossom in that vintage style, and it dries to a lovely tarry sweet vintageness with elements that remind of Tabac Blonde without the smoke and leather. I ended up giving it to my sister who wears vintage Tabac Blonde as her fancy evening scent.
