Jasmin de Nuit

la mia pianta di gelsomino sul balcone è zeppa di fiori, anche quest'anno, nonostante il mio pollice tutt'altro che verde. è una di quelle varietà che fiorisce a maggio, per pochissimi giorni: dopo il tramonto è profumatissima e mi ricorda inesorabilmente e proustianamente le sere estive della mia infanzia. è per celebrare questo piacere passeggero che oggi ho scovato un profumo al gelsomino... epperò io ho grandi difficoltà, come capita per profumi a base di altri "fiori bianchi", a tollerarlo, se non in casi veramente eccezionali. questo accordo è uno di quei casi: si apre con note fiorite, appunto, di gelsomino, che perdurano preminenti il tempo di una sniffata, per poi passare in secondo piano. nel contempo si fanno sentire essenze speziate: cannella e anice, in prima battuta, poi un tocco di cardamomo. il fondo è piuttosto classico: note di ambra, sandalo e patchouli. l'aspetto veramente inusuale di questo profumo è che il gelsomino non solo sta in sottofondo, timido, ma si appalesa ad ondate, rinfrescando di volta in volta il cuore speziato dell'accordo. insomma un gelsomino per chi non ama i profumi al gelsomino. molto buono.

Vintage bottle. If you have ever smelled vanilla powder, this is exactly how it smells like .The opening is a warm crème brûlée/custard with the jasmine,white florals and rose blended on it ,and then on the basenotes the classic Chanel n5 sandalwood, vanilla, oakmoss, vetiver,Ylang Ylang and patchouli but very discreet,nothing loud or vintage,masterfully blended. To me,the dry down smells very straight forward vanilla powder which is very different to the smell of the vanilla pods commonly used at home in our kitchens,its more like the smell of just home made cookies, with an organic deepness, jungle density ,heady, pure, raw, untouched, seductive, complex. Vanilla and Jasmine as you have never ever smelled before. Jasmine de Nuit is a dark,rich,narcotic,sweet,gourmand scent,sexy and full of character, addictive. Night time.Unisex. No resemblance with Musc ravageur. Masterpiece.

I've been lusting after this since I first sampled it. It's my favorite of The Different Company's line. Jasmin de Nuit is indeed a different Jasmin perfume: it's not specifically a floral, but rather a skillful blending of sweet spice with an undercurrent of Jasmin swimming through it. It isn't particularly strong on me, but it does last a decent amount of time. My skin eats up fragrances, so I like the longevity (3-4 hours...and that good for me). I'd wear it anywhere without fear of clearing the room. I'd describe it more as transparent, not heavy and opaque, if that makes sense, and I get no powder as others have reported. I see myself wearing it all year long, even during the summer. I think of this scent as ageless. For me, this one is worth the price of a full bottle, and maybe even the purse-size refill set.

I had this years ago, I’ve since finished a bottle and decided it was time to have this beauty back in my collection. This is a differnt take on jasmine, it’s floral but warm and spicy but not oud or pink pepper spicy, it’s smooth and rich. The cinnamon comes right out front mixing well with the star anise and the floral notes. Honestly I love this! It’s mature but NOT Grandma, it’s a sophisticated floral. I absolutely love jasmine, living in Los Angeles I loved the night blooming jasmine scent in the evening, it was magical. You can spray this with quite a few sprays and not choke any one, it dries to a beautiful floral. Sillage is arms length but just so freaking beautiful. You will get noticed. PS cardamom is one of my favorite notes and it work well in this. It’s a 10/10 just the best!

Jasmine, cinnamon and fresh bergamot to start--such a luminous, warm, bright floral. Then, a touch of indole surfaces as Jasmin de Nuit warms on the skin. Anise and cardamon really come out to play in the heart--cheeky, earthy and spiced. A little soft orange keeps it playful but warm and sultry throughout. The drydown is lovely--sandalwood, velvety patchouli and amber with hints of citrus and cinnamon remaining. This final phase reminds me a lot of Givenchy Organza Indecence. Unfortunately, not a whole lot of jasmine remains, and the naughty indole I was initially teased with is nowhere to be found. Overall, Jasmin de Nuit is a beautifully composed and heart-warmingingly sensual fragrance, but not one worthy of the flower's namesake.

Holy indoles, Batman! What a skank! This perfume makes me feel so sexy! It's a jasmine with a little spicy oomph. The opening is interesting and somewhat spicy, with the star anise and the cinnamon (which I usually hate) but here it seems to be balancing the sweetness of the jasmine. Combine that with the freshness of the citrus and voila! It works perfectly on my skin. Sprayed it on (from a sample) and it's still going strong 6 hours later. The indoles in this fragrance really have to warm up to my skin, it is best for warmer days. Not sure if it'd be safe to wear this to the office, but I'd definitely wear it on a date!

Gosh! I love this. A real spicey opening that made me think of my beloved Amouage Fate for a brief moment This might be a touch sweeter and I can pick out the jasmine more easily. I also get the "fuel" note mentioned by others but this wains quite quickly and anyway I quite like it. I love my spices so it would have been very bad luck if I was not to love it. This has amazing sillage but I am in a warm humid room which must make a big difference. It takes a little while for the sandalwood and amber to emerge. The longevity is impressive as well. My skin gobbles up fragrance so doubly impressed.

In the opening I get almost only anise and cinnamon and I asked myself 'where is the jasmine?'. However after a few minutes the lovely jasmin showed herself through the spicy notes and it was lovely. The jasmine note here brought ELDO Jasmin et Cigarette to my mind, even if ELDO's jasmine is a little more fresher and drier whereas Jasmin de Nuit is spicy. After a few hours there was only some spicy sweetness left on my skin. I like it much and I think it is an outstanding option for jasmine lovers.

I love the opening of this perfume. It is staged with accents of white flowers (jasmine)... after a while it becomes intimate and soft,delicate with cinnamon that predominates. It has a special charm that makes it unique,a nice sweet and gentle parfum. Sillage: 6./10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Scent: 8./10 Overall: 8./10

I'm realizing more and more that jasmine perfumes are just not my cuppa tea. I keep trying, and it's just not working. I think it's because I am so used to the scent of real jasmine, which grows all around me every summer, that no perfume comes close and always smells synthetic to me. There is always a sour facet to jasmine in perfumery that just isn't accurate at all. This is no exception. That being said, Jasmine de Nuit is the best of the bunch. I almost like it, which is a big deal for me for reasons stated above. I love the use of spices here. Spiced jasmine is what I expected but did not get from Tom Ford's Jasmin Rouge. I've smelled countless jasmine-dominant perfumes, and this is by far the best and most unique.

To my nose and in my opinion subjectively, Jasmin de Nuit showcases a cardamom-cinnamon-amber soaked jasmine not unlike the one in Roja Enigma Parfum Pour Homme. The effect is addictive. If someone starts getting defensive due to that statement, feel free to check out some common or similar notes. Perfectly unisex, and to anyone that isn’t afraid of jasmine, a flower which in itself isn’t inherently feminine, highly recommended.

OK here we go... This is Jasmine at it's sexiest composition.. The spicies are sooo delicate blended with the jasmine notes.. so smoothly.. You can totally feel wrapped in a cozy, warm blanket feeling. There's something modest in Jasmin De Nuit, I wouldn't say it's a provocative perfume but it definitely manage to provoke hot feelings on people around you! ;) Excellent feminine quality! a winner for me!

Starts off with a nice sweet cinnamon. Not much jasmine. Jasmine is a very low key sideplayer, barely there. It smells nice I think, without disturbing components, and I like it as a cinnamonfragrance. It has low sillage and ok duration. Very soon a skinscent.

Anyone noticed, that it smells like Coca Cola?

Well, I had high expectations on this frag.... Probably I was mistaken expecting a prominent Jasmine note (that I adore) . This frag is not about jasmine, in the common way we' re used to smell it, the name is so misleading! So please do not expect a huge soliflore note coming out of this. It is an interesting fragrance that smells subtle, clean. Has a chypre/metallic start (reminds me of a very light "Rive gauche"), some very very little white flowers notes and a cosy drydown. Spiced? somewhat... but again not what you would expect, not straight spices. I can smell some Damascus Rose in the drydown (a rose that has a cinnamon, spicy note) although it is not mentioned in the notes. It is indeed well blended, and difficult to define appropriately. In anycase, I would have never christened it "Jasmin de Nuit". Nice to try, but not FB worthy.

Apricot flavored green tea, hint of peppermint, cinnamon sticks, understated Jasmine. It is beautiful and easy to wear. For those who fear the indolic full-blown jasmine, this could be a nice playful version to try. However, I prefer something richer and soulful that is more jasmine-centric. As it wears on, i struggle to feel the presence of Jasmine at all.

It's always a bad sign when you look forward to the disappearance from your skin of the scent you are currently wearing. Alas, this is the case with EPICES DE NUIT, er, JASMIN DE NUIT by The Different Company. Well, this one is different: no argument there, and some wearers will delight in this mélange of star anise, cinnamon, cardamom, and probably everything else in the spice drawer, along with a few jasmine petals. My impression is that perfumer was trying to plump up the indolic facet of the jasmine through the skillful use of hard-hitting spices. The effect, to my nose, is rather like the athlete who plies himself with hormones in order to win the race, but later is exposed, forced to retreat from public life in ignominy. In perfect comformity with Murphy's law of perfume (according to which everything I love is discontinued and everything I hate has infinite longevity) this composition is so tenacious that I fear only a long, hot bath will relieve my body of the smell. On a positive note: anyone who likes this sort of thing will be happy to learn that even a couple of drops of this parfum masquerading as an edt packs a powerful punch. Although I am trapped in a fog of spice emanations, my sample "cube" is nearly full. To reiterate: definitely not for me.

This is the kind of perfume that bears a wrong title. I don't get any jasmine (which is probably not a bad thing as I detest jasmine bombs) at all. The opening is all about orange and anise but in a lighthearted way. There is also a strange smell of damp straw sleeping mat you'd come across in South East Asian countries during summer. Then it phases into a weak aquatic bubblegum sweetness which is very close to the skin. After 30 minutes, all I can get is cinnamon and sandalwood. I don't particularly dislike this perfume but it's not worth the price. It's kind of interesting but shame there is nothing extraordinary in it nor is it even annoying in any sense. Plus the sillage is ZERO so...sorry but it's not my thing.

The first time I tried this it was so strong it felt like a beating heart on my skin, deep and throbbing! A spicy, not dirty, jasmine complimented with a striking star anise note. Too many years later I bought another bottle directly from The Different Company in France. Yes, it's watered down and weak. Big disappointed frowning face here.

There is something fusty about this fragrance that does not set well with me. Not getting the spicy or seductive comments at all - more like grannie's handbag. Seems very stale.

Bleck. I expected a deep, dirty, evening, musky jasmine. I got vanilla jasmine with a little spice. Ugh. Vanilla jasmine. Really?

This fragrance smells more cinnamon and especially cardamom than jasmine. Actually, not impressive enough. Not my cup of tea.

I get a big, almost tangy indolic jasmine opening. But hold on, don't run! There's no poopiness here as people sometimes say of jasmine indoles - never fear! Just a bit of dirtiness in a floral sense, the way some petals tend to smell sort of bodily, like warm, lived-in skin rather than pure or clean as other florals. The spice blend is heady and apparent immediately, too. After an hour the jasmine sinks more to the background on me, and the cardamom comes forward backed by anise and a pinch of cinnamon plus a slightly creamy sandalwood and vanilla (probably part of the amber). Patch is in there too, but it's fairly subtle. The jasmine remains strong and rich. Everything blends nicely, but it took me a good 3 wearings to see the picture it was painting. Before that it seemed messy to me; 3rd time's the charm! Overall I like it. It's fun, the jasmine is a nice contrast to the spices and feels pleasantly lived in versus some of the pristine types of squeaky clean jasmine out there. But somehow I can't help feeling this perfume and I don't really understand each other (yet?). We nod our heads and smile in acknowledgment of each other's style but don't think we could pull it off on ourselves. To get an outsider opinion, I asked my bf what he smelled when I rubbed my wrists together to make it warm (which tends to amp up to patch/jasmine's dirtier sides)."Very musky. Is it musk? Hm, not sure about that." I agree; it seems to be a very musky facet of jasmine that I'm not quite sure about. It does blend well w/ the vanilla and spices though, and it is a very different jasmine than people may be familiar with. Worth a try!

Jasmin de Nuit by The Different Company is a jasmine scent for people that don't usually enjoy jasmine. As confusing as that sounds, it's fairly apt. Jasmin de Nuit has more cinnamon, star anise and cardamom than it does white florals. When first applied to the skin, Jasmin de Nuit smells of sweet spices and a hint of petroleum. It's both rich and heady with not a single white jasmine bloom in sight. As the fragrance settles the sweetness reaches its full potential, rather like a star anise and cinnamon infused dessert. The jasmine is definitely there, but is relatively shy when in the presence of all those spices. If you've ever smelt jasmine incense sticks, it smells a lot like that. Jasmin de Nuit is an oriental lover's dream and is not necessarily something that will appeal to white floral fans nor jasmine enthusiasts. I actually find the name somewhat misleading. I recommend Jasmin de Nuit for the cooler months, however it is Spring where I am presently, and I find the spiciness of this fragrance oddly comforting on a sunny, but not too hot day. It can be sexy, and is most certainly mysterious. I conclude that Jasmin de Nuit would make a unique addition to anyone's wardrobe.

the top note gives the jasmine cinnamon mixture vibe as the jasmine conquers for a little while, then comes the middle lightly rancid jasmine smell to rise up a bit more. after 30 mins it develops to a concentrate soaked tea leaves in a worm water & jasmine mixture just as Jasmine et Cigarette by ELDO with a softer calmly more accepted touch as i never thought that it'll be from the top & middle note, but whats weird is that after 45 minutes it gave me an essence of slightly sweet beside the lightly comfort jasmine, it could be vanilla, and it could be caramel but absolutely no sugar. nice and good for the jasmine lovers. Edit (25 June 2024) It starts candy spicy cinnamon and star anise with a touch of vanilla, also i can detect cardamom, oranges, and amber nothing for jasmines as in top note. the middle note goes amber, with neroli, cinnamon, and orange! I really can't detect any jasmines in here! maybe some touches that is barely visible, but nothing out burst! it's spicy candy amberic blend.

A boudoir fragrance reflecting a glamour of remote ages. I imagine it on a grande dame gallanting a fan with languishing look in the epoch of Renaissance... The jasmine is not typical and hardly recognizable under a thick layer of powder (or not recognizable at all). The scent is out of the mainstream with a distinctive sign of belonging to the niche perfumery and could be compared with Creed Imperatrice Eugenie in style. The sillage is impressive and the lasting power is excellent, the base notes could be noticeable even in two days. I wouldn’t recommend to apply it close to your face, it could be overpowering then. I like the scent, but I can hardly imagine myself wearing it anywhere except home, it is cozy to fall asleep with. So, for me the scent is more like a piece of art meant for true aesthets and virtuosos than a functional attribute of modern life.

I agree with Miss Alaska. I was testing the old version (the dark ambery/orange coloured one) and I immediately fell in love with that jasmin covered with spices. It was a thick, powerful, overwhelming and hipnotizing smell, dirty and very sexy. I bought a bottle yesterday and I must say I've never been that dissapointed with any perfume before. This new version (yellow coloured) is just...oh..it just isn't there. I can barely smell it right from the top notes and it disappears totally in 3hrs. The sent is very plain,just sweet orange and lots of amber with just a hint of spices. In the end it becomes sort of metallic, bloody, it's not even nice. So if you're looking for a good piece of oriental jasmin you have to pay attention to the year of production or just don't even bother with it.

Oh wow I have just been lucky enough to get hold of some of this wonderful perfume. Golden liquid.... Dirty Jasmine!! Upon first sniff, "Civet" but no, not present! It's turns out to be the shape it takes, just love this arty creation. It's fabulous, the spices and amber create a dirty, engaging warmth. For me this is 1920's bohemia, Jasmine cigs, Vita Sackville West, Nancy Astor.... A Passage to India. This definitely has an avant-garde feel and is hauntingly seductive. Perhaps aimed at nocturnal wear but definitely not in an mainstream way. I love this, it's so very different and I just have to get a large bottle. One of the most interesting perfumes I have tried in a long time.

Jasmine de Nuit is not a typical jasmine perfume. Very sweet oranges with doused in spices is all I get for awhile. Jasmine is...somewhere, mingling around; it's shadowed by cinnamon, cardamon, potent star anise, and sticky patchouli. This perfume makes me think of dark sauces eaten with wild fowl, or something that I would eat in an Asian restaurant. A unique fragrance that's smothering to my senses. There is a dizzy, nauseating quality I get from this; someone made a comment that this smells like Coke Cola, it kind of does! I love jasmine and I love spices, but this fragrance is not for me.

Dirty Spicy Jasmine! I love this, it is is not a typical white floral scent, it is a jasmine scent with cinnamon dusting! There is also warm amber, star anise and spices. On my arm, the first scent was the bright bergamot and the soft star anise. The jasmine came through shortly after, with a little bit of cinnamon and cardamom, the jasmine and the cinnamon are supported by the warm sweet amber, vanilla, patchouli.The jasmine is warm, spicy and finishes with sandalwood. The jasmine is the star and the other notes are the supporting characters. Sillage is soft and longevity is good.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!Hear that?Its me sniffing this very different,very unique scent.Its full of surprises!The spicy jasmine are 2 notes ive never experienced together.Like a beautiful moist sweet flower u could just eat! Then the fruit and Amber emerge.What a combination.One usually finds the amber in the final note but,here combined with ripe lucious fruit it almost takes center stage.Finally the warm sandle wood comes round u gently let u down from this euphoric odessey.Quite a fume!Id wear it anywhere anytime and b PROUD of it.Delicious!!!

Hmm...right of the bat, this is not the Jasmine i've been looking (hoping) for... To be quite honest, i almost cannot detect the Jasmine in this fragrance, it's just an overwelming combination of spices. It straight away reminded me of old perfume shops where the air is filled with a combination of all the different fragrances in that store and where the soft florals seem to get overly dominated by strong spices that linger until the end. I don't see how any Jasmine lover could satisfy their Jasmine urges with this fragrance..

One more vote for Jasmin de Nuit as a really outstanding jasmine scent! I love the way the scent takes off - the way the jasmine fuses with the spices and the amber and becomes a rich, deep, sexy floral. It's feminine and on the sweet side, but it is by no means girlie. Due to its decent sillage it's perhaps better suited for autumn/winter wear. Its staying power is also remarkable. Give it a go, it's a stunner!

To me this is a beautiful, rich jasmine, most prominently white floral however the amber does give it a creaminess and the spices are subtle. It smells like spring when all the flowers are full of pollen and there's a floral spiciness in the air. Quite possibly the nicest jasmine I have encountered. *Musc ravageur is 100x spicier than this with the strong cloves but I can see why the comparison!

Agree about dusty and granny's handbag below. Mixed up with nice spices, but still it is there. *I clearly had a bad sample - new review above (or maybe, just maybe, I am a few years closer to being a "granny" who can appreciate a good jasmine! lol)

It is an amber not a floral. The jasmine is so well-hidden it is not at all noticeable. If you like amber and vanilla you will enjoy this.
