Oud for Love

Super spicy whisky open with caramel, amber, and balsam out front. I feel like the zing of aldehydes are hanging out in the background with a faint floral. The oud is in the middle of the two impressions, which is interesting because all my oud perfumes either use it as a base that supports the rest or as the shining star. If someone made the feeling of the first sip of an ice cold can of Dr. Pepper, this would be it. Two hours in and it's just a chill caramel and amber. Not bad at all, but a little boring. Not something I'm inspired to purchase (Adjatay is on my to-buy list and still have three more from this company to try) but I'd be well pleased with a coworker or classmate who wore this. The smell is somehow incomplete. I feel like it could use a touch of sweet patchouli (femme) in the dry-down or some vetiver (masc). Edit - I think I've changed my mind. The dry down is super comforting, like the butterball bath bomb from Lush. Still not going for a full bottle, but that's because I'm po' and the $250 on up for a 50ml bottle is reserved for things I'm super in love with.

One of the most unique and complex oud creation on the market. In the opening it starts out with this beautiful whiskey, oud, and amber accord that slowly develops into a warm, spicy, powdery scent, with soft heart notes of sandalwood, ylang ylang, iris, and tuberose, and then developing into a musky, smoky, and soft animalic drydown that includes caramel, tolu balsam, castoreum, and vetiver. One of the most beautiful takes on Oud I have ever come accross. The most amazing part of this fragrance is it's development from start to finish. The drydown reminds me of Nasomatto's Pardon. My 3 P's - Price 10/10 - Projection 8/10 - Performance 8/10

Velvety and dreamy with nothing loud, screechy or overwhelming but only smooth edges. OUD FOR LOVE is a beautifully blended oud scent which can be appreciated even by those who are not fans of oud. I was surprised at how much I love this fragrance, since I've had a difficult time finding the oud-dominant scent I can wear and enjoy. This magical brew has a powdery elegance on my skin, the smoothest, slightly sweetened, lightly spiced most appealing oud I have ever smelled. It just made my top shelf favorite fragrances. Longevity at over 8 hours is also a plus.

I just got a great deal on a bottle of this from one of my FB groups.This is a very upscale fragrance, blended in a way that i can't separate the notes, but it immediately reminded me of something very familiar. Like maybe a mix between Nasomatto Pardon and Elie Saab oud #4? Anyway, this was a pleasant blind buy, as i love it! Projection seems moderate and longevity is good as well. This smells sexy to me, there's also something about it that makes me think of Chambre Noire. 8 1/2 out of 10 for me.

Very different take on oud and ambre. From very first sniff I fell in love with it .boozy ambre which is passionate mingled with spiciness of clove on the openning then oud come across couple of minutes and complete the exotic oriental atmosphere of the perfume.times goes by an smoky animalic kick of castoreum appears on the dry down that creates kinda smoky leathery feel. The bottom of the whole animalic smoky vanila and oud remains with a tiny touch of gourmand .

I absolutely love this masterpiece. This was love at first smell. The dry down is pure heaven & there's nothing I dislike about this fragrance. The notes are blended to perfection without the barnyard skank most oud based fragrances have. The performance & sillage is through the roof & a few sprays will last you all day. Incredible scent trail that gets me tons of compliments throughout the day. Please sample this asap & thank me later!

This (in the air) smells A LOT like Pardon from Nasamatto, but when you sniff it from your skin its a bit more spicey and oudy. I dont think this is feminine or masculine, its perfectly unisex. I dont get any jubilation, definitely more Pardon dominant to my nose. Oud shamash was really jubilation like. This a dry soapy clean oud and a bit metallic. I think its more wearable than Pardon. 10/10

This is like mixture of Cruel Intentions and Jubilation 25 with bozzy accord. I really liked Cruel Intentions and Jubilations back in the time and I used them a lot. This one brought me back to those times. Oud for Love performs better than the other perfumes that I mentioned. I bought this in a very good price so I am very happy for this perfume. It met my expectations very well.

Hands down..the best oud I have ever experienced! This beautiful perfume can be easily adored even by people who dont like the oud note. Balmy spicy sweet oud and in my humble opinion really feminine. There couldnt be a better name. This is really an oud for love..A fragrance of high quality and very long lasting.

This is an amber perfume, not an oud perfume, continuing the common trend to name perfumes "oud" that don't contain oud. This one isn't even trying to smell like oud. But, it is nice, very rich and elegant.

بعد از چند ماه قطعی اینترنت و اتفاقات تلخ؛خیلی به خودم فشار آوردم تا دوباره اینجا نظرات‌ام رو در مورد عطرا بنویسم چه جان های عزیز ای که توسط آدم های تباه و سنگ‌دل گرفته نشد چه جوون هایی که با هزاران آرزو زیر خروار ها خاک نرفتن چه پدرهایی که بچه‌شون رو از دست دادند و چه بچه هایی که یتیم نشدند زمین،سنگین از اراده و جربزه‌ی این هزاران جان از دست رفته و آسمان خفه و مسموم امیدوارم هرچه زودتر سایه‌ی این تاریکی شوم و نَحس و نکبت بار از سر این مردم و سرزمین دور بشه و رنگ و بوی آزادی و شادی رو همه با هم بچشیم و ببینیم و در آغوش بگیریم ----------- اما عود فور لاو،دست پخت دوشافو یک عطر بسیار عمیق و گیرا که ابدا خطی نیست و بسیار جذاب فرموله شده شروع عطر با فضای اسپایسی و قدرت نمایی زیره هست که در کنار اش روایح ادویه ای دیگه هم حس میشه و مشخصا نشات گرفته از یک نُت نیست اما فضای غالب ادویه ها از زیره است وجه بوزی عطر در شروع کاملا پیداست.شیرین و کمی خوشمزه.نه ترشیده است و نه الکلی به مرور مریم سر و کله‌اش پیدا میشه وایب گُلی عطر هم که از میانه های داستان قدرت می‌گیره به زیبایی عطر اضافه می‌کنه و به نظرم سهم مریم در بین گل ها از بقیه بیشتره واقعا عطر عمیق و پیچیده ایه نُت ها مثل یک رِژه‌ی منظم نظامی حرکت می‌کنند و نمایش تمیز ای رو ارائه میدن.گروه اول میره و گروه دوم شروع به نمایش می‌کنه و همینطور ادامه داره از نیمه های عمر عطر،فضای چوبی عطر بیشتر میشه و یک وایب پودری اما نسبتا دونه درشت هم همراه اش میاد عود حس دارویی،بالزام و عربی نداره.کاملا مدرن و شیک هست و به سختی میشه به عود نسبت اش داد *************** scent:8.5/10 longevity:8.5/10 sillage:8.5/10 purchase value:?/10 ******** overall:8.5/10

Oud for Love starts out in a unique way that I have never smelled oud before—light, powdery, and somewhat translucent. It was much softer and more feminine than I anticipated. This is an oud for those who can’t handle the real deal Middle Eastern oils. Or for those who can handle them but don’t really enjoy oud at full throttle. Sillage is very polite too. There is simply nothing bombastic about this oud. The heart phase teases the nose with ephemeral hints of immortelle and spice. Creamy caramel develops slowly and steadily in a gourmand crescendo. It starts out as a subtlety of the perfume, but ultimately overtakes it entirely. This is a lovely, pleasant, and easy oud for women or for men who can pull off sweets.

It's a pretty nice fragrance. However, I think it's too sweet. It's so sweet, that you can't feel any other nuances. So, if you need to choose, take Oud Shamash of Different Company,- it's really better. Oud for Love è un profumo interessante. Tuttavia, io penso che sia troppo dolce. È così dolce, che non si può distinguere nesun altra sfumatura. Quindi, se avete bisogno di scegliere, prendere Oud Shamash di Different Company, - perché è decisamente meglio.

I agree with kl99. The notes are extremely well blended. So much so, that the transition between stages was almost imperceptible. There isn't any particular note shouting over the others. It's like an easy conversation between friends. It's long lasting and has good sillage, but doesn't stand out of the crowd for me.

A beautiful concoction of whiskey and caramel..wish it could project in normal winter weather like it does in freezing cold temperatures ..dint like it much at start but after giving it few wearings i have fallen for it..will definitely be keeping it in my collection...

Very nice but sadly too feminine for me, I just don’t enjoy powdery and rich.

I cannot think of a better perfumer than Bertrand Douchfour when it comes to creating modern Orientals. By "Modern Orientals," I mean scents that are inspired by Middle Eastern perfumery, particularly those that use oud, amber, and balsams. This genre of perfumery gained popularity in the mid-2000s and is still popular today, with hundreds of perfumes with "Oud" in their name. If we look at the extensive collection of fragrances created by Bertrand Douchafour, we will find several hits within this genre, including Jubilation XXV (Amouage), Al Oudh (L'Artisan Parfumeur), Oudh Shamash, and Oud for Love (The Different Company). While Oud for Love may not meet the expectations of those seeking a natural oud-based scent, it remains an exceptional oriental perfume. It revolves around a sweet, balsamic, and dry benzoin-based amber accord, complemented by a strong sweet and slightly fruity boozy accord in the top notes. The interplay between the amber and boozy accords evokes a similar concept to Opus VI (Amouage), although the scents themselves are different. Additionally, there is a noticeable spicy and vanillic clove note that becomes apparent once the top notes dissipate, as well as a leathery saffron note in the opening. Furthermore, there is a synthetic oud accord that has woody, medicinal, smoky, and slightly leathery nuances, similar to the oud accord in Jubilation XXV (Amouage). Compared to Oud Shamash from the same brand, Oud for Love is more playful and less mature, with a focus on the sweet gourmand and spicy elements rather than the woody spicy elements of Oud Shamash.

I am always looking for nice , modern and creative oud base perfumes that bring something new to me and move oud perfumes to another level. From exclusive line of Different Company and one of best perfumers in a world 2 masterpiece introduced to perfume community. I love the way Bertrand Duchaufour uses oud accord in this perfume. oud note does not shout in this perfume but you can feel it in all lifetime of perfume in your skin. this perfume is boozy , sweet , spicy , animalic , resiny at a same time and that's the beauty of this. In a oudy base all other notes like caramel , whiskey , amber , castoreum and spices dancing around this aroma and make this perfume so pleasant and wearable. In compare of Oud Shamash I think this one has a little bit more feminine side and more wearable but both of them are great oud-boozy base perfumes that are great for winter and cold weather days. So as my friend said " when you are in mOud for love wear Oud for love" good performance and longevity but not very great. اگر از بوهای تیپیکال عود توی عطر های موجود توی بازار خسته شدید این عطر یه انتخاب عالی میتونه براتون باشه. یه عطر با بستر عودی که در عین حال شیرینی کارامل، حالت رزینی کهربا، بوی الکلی و گیرای ویسکی و تم اسپایسی میخک رو به همراه یه کوچولو نت های انیمالیک داره. یه کار خیلی جذاب و سکسیه که به نظرم هر خانوم ها و ها آقایون میتونن ازش لذت ببرند. مخصوصا کسایی که دنبال یه کار مشروبی شیک و خاص هستند که بوش هر جایی پیدا نمیشه. فقط مشکل هزینه زیاد عطر و سخت پیدا شدنش توی ایران هست. کلا از کارای دیفرنت کمپانی هم این کار و هم عطر عود شماش Oud Shamash رو پیشنهاد میکنم. موندگاری و پخش بو خوبه اما عالی نیست.

Slightly green for a few seconds at opening, quickly developing into a dry and sweet spiced whole complimented by subtle florals, beautifully blended with oud in a way where the balance of oud and other elements is so fine you can feel every note individually yet simultaneously all falls into the most enchanting symphony. The oud and spiced base becoming more prominent throughout the fragrances progression through the heart, at drydown the oud fades and sweet spices remain as a rootsy vetiver adds interest from late drydown to the close. What's not to like? BD's trick of presenting density in a transparent way allows what are very rich components never to overwhelm. Perhaps not as intellectually gripping as Oud Shamash, but engaging and satisfying nonetheless. A gorgeous wear.

Caramel and oud? Excuse me, what? That’s not normal. Non-gourmand? Not TikTok approved! Surely you jest! And yet... it can be done. Perfectly. This beauty dropped in 2012, back when Gen Z was still figuring out Snapchat filters and Alphas were in nappies. TikTok? That didn’t even exist for another 4 years! I’ve had this bottle for over 3 years now and let me tell you, it remains my precious. My Gollum moment every time I open the cap. The spices and florals? Impeccably blended. Smooth like cream, seductive like its name - Oud for Love. And yes, we want to get wet... drowned in this luscious, spicy-oud embrace that whispers, “You weren’t ready for this level of sophistication.”

I have purchased Oud for Love together with Oud Shamash for a fair price. My main aspect was the philosophy of TDC. They say that their fragrances are made of natural ingredients. Oud for Love has the smell of rich oud mixed up with sweet ingredients (caramel). Oud Shamash and Oud for Love are perfect companions, depends on your attitude. I have different pure oud extraits and can say that Oud for Love has the typical oud character. A rich one. Sweetened up with caramel. I can recommend this for night use. Edit: The whole COLLECTION EXCESSIVE was reformulated. Seems that they wanted to drop the market price and watered down all fragrances. Be aware.

Oud For Love opens spicy with saffron and coriander soaked in whiskey. In the center they reveal a floral and carnal heart of tuberose, immortelle and ylang. In the background, tempering the sweetness of caramel and amber with the woody spicy richness of 'oud granting intensity in majesty in a feverish elegance. Bertrand Duchaufour went to Laos to find the best producers of this precious wood. A warm woody spicy fragrance, an animalic hint, half boozy half gourmand, an island of originality in this sometimes repetitive ocean of perfumes with 'Oud. Delicious perfume, good performance.

This one does the magic well. It starts very oud-y and orientall-y, the OUD here is absolutely Luxe, smokey and magically powdery. The last feature (Powdery) what really makes it very distinctive among all its counterparts, ..... after a while it develops the very mesmerizing sweet & a bit spiced note of caramel along with Clove and Ambre which lead up to a very powdery and sweet-y background for the Luxe and spiced Oud. Accordingly, after one day pass you will enjoy the Fine Powdery Vanilla

Oud is still a difficult note for me, which I am trying to like, and this one carried me to the closest distance of liking it. It is wearable oud for me, not too sharp (oud shamash is more pungent IMO), too many notes that I cannot define each and every one, but I get saffron and aldehydes at the beginning, and probably the caramel-amber softens the scent afterwards. Not a big sillage, longevity is good. Nevertheless I am still far from buying a bottle..

Oud for Lady. A french one. So better: Oud pour Madame. The Oud became gentle and creamy. The parfume itself is pompous. Very nice, well balanced. But ordinary. Almost plain. basic. that's the risk. It is the tipycal oud niche perfume oriental-parisienne, arabic-frenchified that you can smell around in the air. An alternative air became now quite common.

Initially it was very boozy, but that only lasted a couple of minutes when it then settled into a clean floral animalic. The iris and angelica were very prominent on me. There’s was a faint sweetness but nothing I would consider caramel. This was a dabber sample, I think I will order a spray sample to see if it’s different or more sweet.

Mm Mm! Lots of vetiver! Some lovely castoreum, discernabley measured which was a nice surprise. Sweet, caramelly, with powdery florals. There's oud too, but as an effect not as a star player. Very nice, easy to wear, on the girly side of unisex but still easily appreciated by either gender.

Do you want a smokey Nasomatto pardon with more projection go and grab this one Edit Dry down similar to parfumerie general l'ombre fauve

It turns into a pretty generic vanilla/caramel sweet scent within an hour. Not bad, but why even mention Oud?
