this is one of the most unique rose fragrance i’ve tried. very transparent and very JC Ellena... this evokes image of drying rose in spice cabinet. the rose is there dry and a little musky. sitting with a little drying vitiver roots. beside it lies a saucer with pink peppercorns. longevity wise, this one is also quite unique... on my skin it was there for around 3 hours... but on my clothes, the scent stays much longer... i like its still life quality. if you want to try a unique rose, or unique take of pink pepper...put this in your wishlist

I’m not familiar with the old Rose Poivree version but this one is opens with a gorgeous rose reminiscent of dry rose petals. Then the spices come out, and it gradually becomes similar to Eau de Protection by Etat Libre d’Orange, albeit a more floral version of it. I would assume more rose has been added to here, compared to the old Rose Poivree. Does anyone know the difference? Please comment. The Different Company says there is no difference between the two.

(2020 formulation) Wow, I (male, 41) was not expecting this at all. This is a fresh rose and stem. It's only slightly sweet, very quiet, remaining perfectly unisex. While I'm disappointed about not getting any of the wild animalic notes I've read about in the older formula, I am very happy with this formulation. I can't stop smelling where I sprayed my hand. I will be wearing this more than I anticipated.

Beautifull rose with a peppery facet as per the name.

The name translated directly from french is Peppered Rose. "Poivrée" is an adjective, not a noun, and because "Rose" is a feminine noun, there is an 'e' added to the adjective. "Poivre" is pepper. The two are not interchangeable, no matter how "french" some random friend is.

To ease the further reviews, the name of perfume is "Pink Pepper", not "peppery rose". Hope it help not to be influenced by the word "rose" in the name. It is about pink pepper.

@tandem_4x4 - It is exactly the opposite. Pink pepper - baie rose or poivre rose. Peppered rose - rose poivrée.
