22 Shades of Dolce Solaris

22 Shades of Dolce Solaris is a Dua tribrid (inspired by a blend of Le Labo Bergamote 22 as well as Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo & Acqua Viva), still the only tribrid that I own to this day, so clearly my favorite, and one of my favorite releases of 2020. It’s a fittingly fresh, sweet, tart, and slightly creamy blend of citruses and vanilla, primarily, capturing some of the extremes but landing in an interesting middle space. And with great performance, it’s a great option for gourmand lovers, and a fragrance that I like to wear when I want something to perform well in the heat, though I’m sure the vanilla might be overwhelming for some on a hot day. Among the three inspirations that contribute, I’d say that Dulcis in Fundo is most prominent, balancing out the relative tartness of Bergamote 22 and Acqua Viva, but the result is very balance in terms of sweet vs. tart, with some of the creaminess of Dulcis in Fundo being part of the mix, as well. 8 out of 10

Dolce Vita by Dua is basically an orange creamsicle fragrance, and 22 Shades Of Dolce Solaris is basically "what if we turned the orange creamsicle into a lime creamsicle?" This is a perfect gourmand pairing of citrus and vanilla. There's a faint fresh leafy and woody aroma to this as well, which stops this fragrance from leaning too feminine. I'd still consider this slightly feminine leaning, although a man could easily rock this too if they're comfortable smelling like a lime creamsicle. This is a nice fresh citrus gourmand scent. I wouldn't wear this once it stops being t-shirt weather. It just reminds me too much of summer. One thing i dislike is that there's a woody/amber note that sticks out a bit too much, feels a bit out of place. I can't put my finger on it. It's like a citrus gelato got dumped on a blob of amber kind of. I used to adore this fragrance but over time the amber really got stronger and ruined the vibe for me.

Very yummy citrusy but still sweet and creamy.... had to buy another bottle. Quite citrusy, but also sweet. It has a orange creamsicle quality to it too. There are some woody notes in there but they don't over power or stand out too much at all. Just a hint enough to ground it and make it unisexy. I think the cypress and lemon are giving a teeny freshy vibe? These notes you smell more as it develops. It is mainly a sweet citrus treat. Easily could be something Profumum Roma did on purpose. I like this a LOT more than Dulcis in Fundo and Acqua Viva!!!

This is one of my most loved citrus scents. It’s bright, yet woodsy and sweet. The gourmand notes don’t cloy. It’s blended to perfection with the sweet notes playing off the sharp citrus. The vanilla didn’t wear well in our high heat climate, but when it cooled down some it wore beautifully. I unfortunately go anosmic within an hour so I layer with Puffletuft to amp up the gourmand lemon.

The only Dua fragrance I have tried that hasn't smelled of burnt hair and chemicals (maceration didn't work). This is super fresh, pretty strong, and well blended. Not screechy at all. A creamy citrus that is perfect for warm weather.
