A Vanilla Affair

I really love this perfume, but it doesn't smell like Spiriteuse Double Vanille to my nose, not at all. I need to come back and write a proper review, but it's not SDV. Nope, not to me. It's very long lasting and has good strength too. It's definitely worth it. I can't believe they actually restocked it. So happy I could get another bottle!

One of my favorite. This scent is very close to Gerlain spirituese double Vanille. I really enjoy it very much.

A less thick and stick version of SDV. More day to day wearable due to its airiness.

All of the above notes are present and accounted for. On first sprayed you get strong vanilla and bergamot with a thin veil of warmed rum. Then in comes the sugared musk blending with the vanilla and bergamot. As the bergamot dissipates, you are left with a sultry vanilla musk. It is slightly similar to Spirituse double vanille, with no smoke and an added hefty dose of white musk. This is not a dupe. It is it's own scent. Quite pleasant ☺️. I am a vanilla lover. I am always on the search for the perfect vanilla. She will be staying in my collection. My ideal vanilla would open with a wisp of caramelized sugar, sparkling bergamot, and head into a photorealistic freshly split vanilla bean sprinkled with maple and a hint of amber. Settling into a heavy realistic vanilla pod, rolled in maple sugar, with a touch of amber with a wisp of sandalwood. But that note would have to be brimming with real vanilla caviar and split beans. There is nothing like a freshly split bean...my unicorn 🦄 scent.💓

I’ve had A Vanilla Affair for almost 6 years now and honestly, it’s still one of my absolute go‐to vanillas. It’s that reliable, comforting scent I can throw on anytime, any season, any mood and it just works. Completely unisex, light, soothing and never tries to be a dupe of Guerlain SDV. It’s its own thing, and that’s what makes it special. Back when it first released, it came in a glorious and gorgeous 100ml bottle with a case but these days you can only get it in a 34ml size, which feels almost criminal for something this good. The scent itself has this slightly boozy, sweet vanilla vibe that’s addictive without being overwhelming. And the best part? It lasts. Like, genuinely lasts. The longevity is impressive, and the projection is stronger than you’d expect from something so smooth and comforting. Years later and it’s still holding its place in my collection like a true vanilla MVP - most valuable player. Layering it with Alexandra's Vanillac Dreams bring it to another level.
