Alexandra’s Vanillac Dreams

this is such a pretty vanilla! the opening is lovely, a fresh burst of bergamot that is smoothed out with a creamy vanilla and a soft, beautiful rose. not so much i would call this a floral gourmand or advise caution if you're a rose hater, it's mostly just there in the background. as it dries down, it starts to get more dessert-like, i reckon due to the cake + whipped cream, and also sort of ambery? reminds me of B&BW's wicked vanilla woods or ramsh diva by zimaya-- the vanilla + ambery combo, that is. it's a very sweet, feminine vanilla that i find to be an easy reach and something i'd be happy to have as a staple in my collection.

There’s something quietly rebellious about Dua Alexandra’s Vanilac Dreams, a flanker that doesn’t behave like its siblings. Instead of diving straight into the creamy, indulgent Vanillac Dream signature, it opens with a bright, citrus‐kissed sparkle that instantly reminded me of A Vanilla Affair. The bergamot is lively, zesty, almost effervescent, like someone squeezed a fresh rind over a vanilla dessert just to see what would happen. At first sniff, I’ll admit I was thrown off. I kept waiting for that familiar Vanilac Dream DNA to emerge; the plush sweetness and the creamy warmth but this one walks its own path. It’s fresher, breezier, more daytime‐friendly. And because it doesn’t lean heavily on the original’s gourmand richness, my nose needed time to adjust. But here’s the twist: the more I wore it, the more it bloomed. As the citrus softens, a gentle vanilla glow begins to peek through, not loud, not syrupy but comforting in a subtle, modern way. The dry‐down becomes this mellow fusion of freshness and sweetness, like vanilla chiffon caught in a cool morning breeze. It’s not trying to be seductive or decadent, it’s trying to be easy, wearable and quietly charming. Now, I find myself reaching for it more often than I expected, layering it with A Vanilla Affair from time to time. It’s the kind of fragrance that grows on you slowly, like a song you didn’t love at first but suddenly catch yourself humming.
