Never tried the OG. This is the best davana scent where the davana is not dusty, but only green, slightly tea-like, herbal, slightly woody and balsamic. It has an earthy quality from the orris added to the green herbal element from the opening and throughout. The pink pepper is subtle and gives a sharpness at first and I normally don't like it, but it's beautiful here paired with the sweet raspberry and the sour, green bergamot for a refreshing opening - the bergamot amplifies the bright spicy effect of the pink pepper, but nothing obnoxiously peppery in this. So the opening is green, herbal from the davana, slightly sour-lemony green from the bergamot, earthy-woody from the orris and also sweet from the raspberry. It is quite green-sour astringent in the opening actually from the davana- pink pepper - bergamot combo, reminiscent of DUA's Vanilla Lemon Gelato the way the latter is sharp-green and lemony at first, but that one is more vanilla and lemon infused, heady and more tart. The opening being green tart sharp-astringent with a woody quality reminds me of Korres Philosia opening. It is at the same time also balsamic by the tolu almond and vanilla absolute. The balsamic effect remains in the drydown, but more subtle as the scent becomes powdery, sweeter, smoother by the vanilla and slightly heady from the orris. It also remains subtly green and woody from the davana throughout, less tart till that aspect fades, and the orris intensifies the woody effect. It becomes sweeter and more powdery in the mid phase and the raspberry with the orris give a powdery sweet like makeup scent which I like. The raspberry being a candy sweet note with the iris powdery flare of the Orris give off a rose-like impression with the added balsam of the tolu. Surprisingly, in the OG wonder woman, they list rose in the accords impression, so my nose didn't trick me that there's truly a rose type powdery feel in this from the iris and raspberry, but not as heady as rose is and it's very attractive. It is subtly spicy but in a soft way at the drydown from the pink pepper. The almond isn't super almond-y, but it's a feminine touch along with the raspberry and it pairs great with the orris for a smooth, earthy and powdery feel that is perfume-y yet bucolic from the davana. Orris always gives a buttery powdery vibe in perfumes which I like and it's usually earthy too as it is here, but it is not too pungent or too thick as it may be in other perfumes. Beware because it becomes abit heady in the later drydown as if there is iris in it, maybe because orris is from iris being a powdery floral note so it may contribute to the makeup-powdery sweetness with the raspberry. So the drydown is more powdery, sweeter, warm and woody-earthy from the orris which is a favorite note of mine while it retains the green herbaceous element of the davana. It's a unique scent perhaps similar league as kilian princess without the obnoxious to me warm spicy ginger and the girly-sweet marshmallow candy vibe, but we get a similar spice from the pink pepper and the herbal green vibe of the davana. This is more aromatic and dynamic as opposed to romantic-girly. Not overly warm, and I like the contrasting sweet elements like that of the raspberry, vanilla absolute and tolu almond, with the green tone of the davana and the initial tartness of the bergamot while the earthy, woody powdery orris acts like the bridge joining them together. It's truly a scent for an Amazon. I am still exploring it but I love orris - perhaps the only powdery note that I like - and I like green notes so I've come to like davana in some perfumes.
