Angelic Elixir

Just received today. I don’t own the original, never smelled the original, so can’t speak of Angel’s Share. I’ll admit, I fell into the YouTube hype and NEEDED this fragrance. This is beautiful! I do get the apple bourbon that some don’t seem to get on their skin. Definitely get the cinnamon, which I love! It’s not the typical gourmand, full of vanilla. Nor is it super sweet like most of this genre. This will be my Thanksgiving scent. It’s a performer, but not the smack everybody in the face type. People are going to smell you, but not be down by your scent. Warm, inviting, delectable. So happy I purchased this one. Way to go Dua!

Two sprays on you will last you from morning to night. Two sprays on your clothes will last you for days. This stuff is super potent, but pleasant at the same time. I love it! I'd say that the opening is different to Angels' Share but as it gets to the drydown all the way until the end of its life, it is much closer to Angels' Share. Basically, this is a woodier and warmer version of Angels' Share. The 30 mL bottle is quite worth the money, especially that it is cheaper than Angels' Share and it is also more potent (you don't need to spray much, two or three sprays and you're done).

Dua gets most of these right. This is a total match. I have the original and sprayed it on one side, Angelic Elixir on the other . Even though I am pretty picky about things claiming to be duplicates, this one truly is. I prefer an extrait, always, as I like beast mode scents. This one is strong but dimensional just like the original. I don't miss the hedione or candied almond. The accords are identical. For the price, this is a gem.

I am obsessed with this! I like it even more than the real thing, probably bc it doesn't lean so boozy. This also layers amazingly with Guerlain Angelique Noire and Tobacco Honey. An insane layering combo is Commodity Milk Bold, Angelic Elixir, with a touch of Montale Arabians Tonka-heaven!!! I am going through this tiny 34ml bottle way too fast!!!

I don't understand why people conpare this to burning hair. Maybe the new batch its bad? I have a bottle of mine and its awesome. One of my favorite scents, because i love cinnamon and this smell a lot like a cinnamon stick, not even closer to burning hair..

I bought a second-hand bottle of this and it was macerated well. It is a 1:1 perfect match for my full bottle of AS! I get so many compliments from this fragrance!

Love this! Very similar to Angel Share. If you’re looking to get the scent but save the coins definitely pick this up. Boozy, cozy, sweet gourmand.

I don’t know what Angel’s share smells like but I LOVE this so I can’t even imagine what the original smells like. Great perfume

before own this i adore Acqua di parma Leather Edcc soo much. now. i adore this. LOVE IT. WORTH THE BUCKS.

I did a side by side test with Angel's Share. This has a very different opening from Angel's Share, much heavier on the cinnamon. I don't pick up the faint sweet apple/pear topnote on this as much as i do on angel's share. The drydown is similar but again not quite the same. Angel's Share has that faint, mysterious sweet fruity smell from the cognac that lasts throughout its drydown, Angelic Elixir lacks that sweetness, and it's still quite a cinnamon-heavy in the drydown. One other interesting thing to note, the vanilla seems almost nonexistent compared to Angel's Share. Or at least it's well masked by the powerful cinnamon. The boozy note is harsher and much more masculine, since that fruity nuance is missing. Someone else mentioned it almost smells like petrol, i'd describe it more like bourbon or some other high proof alcohol. In any case, i think the main reason this dupe is not accurate is the alcohol is much more sharp and unrefined and the sweeter notes like vanilla and praline are pretty hard to detect. This fragrance definitely has its own identity. Imagine twin sisters, they look similar but once you get to know them, you start to notice all the things that set them apart. Angel's Share is a well-behaved yet complicated brunette while Angelic Elixir is a redhead with a bit of an attitude. It's very performant in terms of sillage and lifespan. If you like Angel's Share then this is absolutely worth having in your inventory, but i think it's fair to say it's not an accurate dupe. This doesn't replace Angel's Share, but it's still just as outstanding in its own way. It took Angel's Share (which i consider to be kinda feminine) and turned it into something more universally wearable.

Okay so I just got a new batch, order in the end of August 2023. This Batch Opens with a straight Green JUICY apple, I'm so surprised this doesn't have apple in it! But it opens with a strong green apple, baked into an apple pie sprinkled with a light cinnamon(THAT EXACT SMELL, almost think someone is cooking in your kitchen lol), then after about 30/40min i start getting apple in the background, some vanilla, tonka and a light cinnamon up front. It smells so lovely, brings a holiday feel & I feel this batch is closer to AS then the last...(Thank god), & it does last awhile but ONLY if you let it oxidize for about 4-6 weeks, this helped the longevity, it helped all the notes blend together better & it smells amazing now! I've noticed with dua's you need to macerate/oxidize 90% of the time for 1 of 3 reasons or all 3. 1)To add longevity/Sillage. 2) Add depth. 3)For the scent to become closer to the OG. Some are great right away but most need to rest for 1 or all of those reasons. This is a 8/10(now its a 9/10 after sitting for 5 weeks) for me. Very fall/winter, gourmand, extremely unisex. Update: I've had this sitting for about 5/6 weeks now...OMG this is dreamy & almost the exact same as Angels share! NOW when u spray it i get straight baked apple, cinnamon filling, with a splash of liquor, & vanilla. Absolutely stunning, so comforting, warm, sweet, perfectly unisex, this will always be in my rotation & layered with the OG is😋 This is slightly sweeter just a little & I love that personally. So spray 3 times, & let this SIT for 4-6 weeks, b/c it forms into the most delicious apple pie in the world!

Slightly sweet, slightly spicy, identical to Kilian Angel's Share. You can buy samples very cheaply from ScentitLondon. It's less boozy than gourmand - something like crystalising dark drown sugar - not sweet like candyfloss, but darkly sweet like treacle or molasses. (I dislike candyfloss sweetness, it usually feels like a cheap way to add sillage but dumping ethyl maltol in place of essential oils) A warm, golden scent. Pretty unisex, no masculine notes.

So, I have other fragrances from Dua that I definitely love more than this one. I ended up selling mine. While I did from time to time get a churro-like smell from this fragrance which I loved most of the time this smelled like Oak. My skin loved that Oak note and Amplified it to like a hundred. The oak was very powerful with a slight booziness in the background. For me and my skin the oak took over everything.

Really nice dupe of Angel's Share, without the $$$. It isn't as sweet, lacking vanilla, a bit more spicy but I actually like that better... a lovely, affordable alternative. Very oily as it's an extrait. Be careful on clothes. Nice sillage and decent longevity.

@vkdeford A lot of people (but still a small percentage) have reported that burnt hair smell from the brand—It's not just this fragrance—I suspect it's the way these "fragrance oils" and alcohol react to the plastic tubing & spray

Didn't quite hit the mark for me; Angel's Share has very clear woody notes & cinnamon, whereas this one has everything muddled & dulled...only 80% similarity to me :/

It’s a lovely fragrance , 90% Angel’s Share. Very disappointed in the performance, lasts 2 hrs tops ☹️

I ordered this because I absolutely adore AS. So much so that I want to smell it all day every day. But I feel guilty over spraying the real thing so I thought this one would be a cheap alternative. I was so excited to receive this until that first spray. Omg what is that smell? Perm solution? Burnt hair? It was just terrible. So I took advice from people who said it might need to macerate for a few weeks. So I put it back in the box and put it in a drawer hoping it would emerge at a later date without that god awful smell. Well it’s almost three months later and I’ve concluded it’s just the way it smells. I don’t know if I got a bad batch, but I don’t know how anyone can think this smells good. Wasted $$$$$z

There is something ROTTEN about this fragrance. Even worse, there’s something rotten about this brand. They censor Facebook posts and reviews on their scents, some have complained of skin rashes from contact. Their customer service is terrible... I could go on and on.

Absolutely awful, smells horrible! Apparently this smells almost identical to the real thing. If that's the case, I don't want either of them! I really don't understand the hype of this one.

What I am getting is: ✨ Heavy, syrupy praline ✨ Warm vanilla sitting low in the background ✨ That rich, baked-goods illusion BUT HERE’S THE TWIST— She’s not a sweet little bakery angel. She’s boozy. 🍸 Like the praline, the vanilla, the whole “apple pie ghost” situation? They’ve been out. They’ve had cocktails. They came home laughing too loud and smelling expensive. It’s giving: dessert... after a night at the bar. Not fresh-out-the-oven pie— more like you ordered it with a bourbon on the side and stayed a little too long. And can we talk about the universe having perfect comedic timing? Because I literally just dropped and shattered my real Angel’s Share. Gone. Spiritually devastating. $300 funeral. Leaving my entryway smelling of equal parts luxury distillery and haunted bakery. 👻🥃🍎✨ So when this walked in at $40.($33 w code) acting like her long-lost twin with a slight drinking problem?? Lovely. This isn’t just a dupe. This is emotional and financial recovery for me. If you want to smell like: a bakery with a nightlife dessert with a little attitude luxury that doesn’t require a moment of silence Angel Elixir said, “I got you... and I brought drinks.” 🍸✨

I originally ordered this because no one local has Angels’ Share to sample, so I figured I’d get a dupe and see how I like it. Well, 4 months later I just put my order in for a 3rd bottle and am getting Angels Share for Christmas. I cannot get enough of this scent. It’s everything fall in a bottle. It’s holidays in a bottle. It’s sexy, mature, playful, I honestly can’t rave about this one enough. I have quite a few scents and this is the only one I have taken the time to review other than Delina Exclusif. Every single time I wear this people HAVE to know what it is.

I have Angels Share and kept reading that this was a dupe so I had to test it out. To my nose they are almost identical, but at different times (if that makes any sense). They open differently, but end up smelling the same. Dua lasts longer and projects more than AS on my skin, which is annoying af bc the AS was a lot pricier. In any case, if you love Angels Share, but don’t love the price, this is a perfect option.

Beautifully done! 95% close to my nose and not to mention beastmode. I can only pin point differences if wearing both on each arm. The cinnamon is turned up a bit and it lacks that crisp fruit note that the original has in the opening but i still love it. A novice nose will NOT know the difference. Excellent dupe if you're not ready for the og.

Nice, affordable dupe. While the descriptions below are largely accurate, I'm surprised not to see a mention of it being very similar in scent profile to nag champa incense. It is. Which is great.

This was really nice but it was a little slacking on the vanilla note to me, but a nice alternative.
