Be In Love

I've had my bottle for 4 years now and it is dark and lovely. Super sweet, resinous, rich, sexy, gourmand plus floral. It's so strong, 2 squirts lasts all day and leaves a scent trail long after I leave a room. It is stronger than the OG and definitely has a punch of citrus in the opening.

Absolutely gorgeous! Smells like a mature marshmallow scent.

Love Don't be Shy dupe... It's ok for the money, but, I've tried, this one, Oakcha, Alt. and Dossier. Of them all, I think Dossier is the best one, closest to the real thing thing. This one is very sweet, a bit juvenile, imo.

This is a review for Be In Love With Pistachio Gelato, the hybrid, not on the database here. Like most DUA perfumes, it doesn't have a juicy bright opening because it's very oil-based so it stays closer to the skin and feels muted. I don't have this issue with Caramel Apple Turnovers and Cherry Caramel Praline and some others. The opening is pistachio-heavy so it is nutty, and slightly plastic from the marshmallow-like effect just as Princeless Princess has a plastic element at first from the marshmallow. This one also has a burnt sugar effect from the labdanum-sugar, and a syrupy and lactonic undertone from the custard, labdanum and powder notes in the opening - the caramel also being slightly lactonic/buttery as a note and in this as well - it feels weird tbh, as if some notes don't blend well with the others. In the mid phase, it becomes perfume-y and projects as such with a weird pistachio-infused Love Don't be Shy vibe. In the drydown, I still get this Love Don't Be Shy element, but when I smell up close I detect a plastic, ozonic almost, weird scent like the apple and musky air note in bbw Crisp Morning Air along with the amber which I never liked - it's probably from the white musk here and the abundance of syrupy notes along with the green pistachio-bergamot notes giving almost an apple effect here too. Here it's not as fishy as in Crisp Morning Air, but still obnoxious to me. Out in the open, I get the plastic apple-musk scent from the projection too. At the later drydown I start smelling more of the herbal soft spicy effect of the coriander which I like - I mean that's part of the Be In Love perfume in this hybrid. It is okay I guess, but very weird. I did not buy the Be In Love since I have a dupe of love don't be shy by Dossier which is a normal perfume, not oil-based so I prefer the Dossier quality. Dossier's Floral Marshmallow is a lighter more youthful version of Love Don't be Shy with just the orris note adding a powdery buttery feel to it, but nothing spicy. Maybe I should have opted for Be in Love cuz the pistachio gelato is not compatible with the Be in love notes to my senses. I see what people mean when they say that DUAs are cluster*ucks. I personally prefer a regular perfume, not so oil-based, cuz like I said many Duas open in a muted way, not juicy and bright due to the oil weighing them down and drowning the notes initially. I might try Be in Love too just to get the soft spicy coriander and the labdanum, civet and iris effect, but again with some DUAs I cannot discern the notes well; they feel drowned a little, and also blended into an indistinguishable oily mess, even later in the drydown. Some folks say that all DUAs have a plastic smell to them, no I didn't experience that with other perfumes from them like the Sweet Amalfi; I just experienced what I described, a muted, oily messy opening and poor-muted note development as opposed to regular perfumes or even the Demeter's oily perfumes that open in a brighter juicier louder way despite being oil-based. With Demeter's perfumes, some seem to turn powdery in some manner, but at least their opening and composition feels more clear with distinguishable notes i.e Oud, Frankincense, Macademia Nut. Sawdust by Demeter acts like a normal, quality perfume.

Words can’t describe how horrible this is. When I see the notes, and it shows an animal, this is what I imagine the animal smelling like. And that seems to be the only note. I get no orange blossom, nothing sweet! This is offensively strong. To be fair I just received this yesterday but even without opening the bottle, the rank smell has filled my bedroom. I had to put this in a closet. I will smell it again once it’s aged a bit, but I needed to warn people that this is NOT anything like the listed notes or the OG. It’s also very much not a safe blind buy unless you like pitching money out.
