Candy Of Creamy Vanilla

I am so confused about the bad reviews on this product--it smells exactly like Creamy Candy/Snow Fairy from Lush. Editing to add: I now understand that melted plastic-y, gasoline note that people have been pointing out. While it’s not noticeable to other people when smelling you from a distance, it’s definitely a noticeable scent that I detect if I put my nose next to where I sprayed the fragrance.

I've had this since August '24 and recently tested it out on two separate days. I'm not familiar with Lush products so I had no expectations about what it would smell like beyond the scent notes provided on the site. Unfortunately I'm disappointed - for the first 30 minutes, I smelled moth balls (my sister told me that I smelled like nail polish). At about the 1-1.5 hour mark, my skin smelled like outside air and this scent persisted until the 5 hour mark when it faded. I will try to layer this with other vanilla, banana and citrus leaning fragrances to see how well it works with other notes.

I've had it for about a week and noticed a LOT for sale secondhand on Mercari (usually indicative that it smells funky). This is the first perfume I've ever smelled that literally smells like gasoline. I see that thrown around a lot with ME perfumes and I've never experienced it before, personally. But this smells like gasoline and cherry chapstick... Now, I do know that some Duas need to macerate, so I really hope this evolves because it's gnarly currently. I'll come back and update if so. Reminds me of Musky Marshmallow with the powdery heady iris without the lavender, a more plain cousin of it, with a makeup-like powder and the gasoline rubbery plastic element for the first 1- 1.30 hrs. I hear that iris as a note may be rubbery-waxy, so it's used in the lipstick genre of perfumes and depending on the surrounding notes, iris is a powdery cupcake-doll scented note as in La Vie Est Belle. So Musky Marshmallow is more dry, floral-heady and like pencil shavings and without any rubbery gasoline elements, so maybe more pleasant, but too heady for me and I sold it. This one starts off plastic, rubbery and like gasoline - even my mom agreed, who was a trucker for 11 yrs, that it smells like gasoline, if not diesel. It also has a strong camphor undertone like an old attic and which becomes like sandalwood slightly like pencil shavings, along with a powdery iris effect that smells like an old lipstick because of the waxy rubbery plastic element in the scent. I smell no vanilla absolute note which is normally a boozy vanilla note. The candy scent is just a powdery iris that is slightly green and camphor-like, with that labdanum-like leathery gasoline overtone throughout cuz I smell the gasoline effect as an extra layer on the rubbery plastic smell so this prolly has labdanum too. So weird. It only becomes better after 2 hours, a waxy powdery makeup scent, but the rubber and gasoline effect ruin it. At times it reminded me of Dark Angelica by DUA, in the green quality aspect, but Dark Angelica is creamy green without rubbery leather-like gasoline effect. The gasoline effect is reminiscent of the leathery Cistus note in Desert Mirage which smells like tires. Cistus and labdanum are basically the same, but cistus is more intense, while labdanum usually just adds warmth without a gasoline or tires vibe. They are hiding notes on this one, like they do in some others. I kinda see where they were going with that rubbery gasoline iris - cistus hidden notes, to emulate a hard candy scent in this, and it kinda makes sense after 2.30 hrs on my skin when the gasoline rubber scent is softer and I can see some charm about it as it seems more lipsticky-waxy than gasoline. So I'll keep and let it macerate like I did with the Desert Mirage where again the cistus only makes sense after it's a bit faded at the 2hr mark. Pairs well with the DUA Orchid Molecule 7.0.

Like the first review below, I just got this, but instantly I thought it smelled like gasoline. I'm glad it wasn't just me. I'm going to put this in time out and come back to it later and hope it improves after some time to settle. It's terrible right now.
