Caribbean Waters

I ordered this for two main reasons; #1 it is supposed to outperform Creed Virgin Island Water, and #2 I have yet to read one bad review of any DUA Fragrance. First of all. ...something i was afraid of, and have run into with many high-strength perfumes. ...they often just smell like a bunch of muddled-together notes, with no real facet like a true perfume... NOT THE CASE here!! This scent genuinely acts like Virgin Island Water, in my opinion!! It almost nails the exact notes in exact sequence, but I would say the musk is heavier here and the lime has more zest here than actual lime pulp, such as in VIW. So, not "exactly like" VIW, per se, but I would say it's very similar, definitely stronger and arguably better. I'm SO pleased with this as a blind-buy. I am a huge fan of Virgin Island Water but have always hated its fleeting performance. Well, this is the best alternative I've yet to find. Very strong/heavy stuff though, 2 sprays oughtta do it. GREAT STUFF, Dua!! I wish you guys continued success, and i easily give this 9/10, with potential to be that "perfect 10"!

Dua Fragrances' Caribbean Waters is a fresh mix of coconut, rum, and a mix of citrus, anchored mainly by lime. In that respect, it smells like a tropical island vacation, fruity with light booze. To address the elephant in the room. certainly the similarities to Creed Virgin Island Water are strong (not quite as cloney as Sweet Tabacum to TF Tobacco Vanille,) but I'm not such a VIW worshipper (I own 10 Creeds and VIW isn't one of them) that I would even approve wholeheartedly of an exact clone, anyway. Rather, I find that Caribbean Waters has merits outside of its similarities to Virgin Island Water. It's fresher and not so rum-intensive, to my nose. CW is also quite strong, performance-wise, whereas I've not been overwhelmed by VIW the few times I've tried it out. For the standard Dua pricing of $45 for 30ml extrait, CW is a steal relative to VIW. 8 out of 10

A friend gave me a small decant of this one and I just loved it as soon as i put it on. So fresh and sweet citrusy scent. Beautiful and perfect for Spring and Summer . Then i got terribly disappointed, it doesn’t last more than an hour. Barely a skin scent after that and then nothing at 2 hr mark. Oh how broken hearted I was. Still I went and ordered 2 bottles, I love it so much that I don’t mind re applying every hour. This one is THAT good. So yummy. Worth every penny. Now if DUA could find a way to make this one beast mode and last at least 4 hrs then I’d pay 3 times the price. But I highly doubt this one can be improved upon . But one can always hope....

I'm gonna keep it short. This is what VIW SHOULD BE but is not (especially in the performance department). As for the smell, You definitely will immediately find it to be very close to VIW. IMHO - this one is better. Scent wise, performance wise and last but not the least price wise. The only thing I like better about Creed's Virgin Island water is the bottle. Do yourself a favor, save a LOT of money and buy this instead. Edit: Oh and almost forgot.. a lot of haters seem to click "dislike" on DUA Fragrances. Most of these people probably never even smelled this. Don't see so many hate for VIW ;) Curious

@mikestro, this is precisely my point. If you are rolling in dough and can just blindly drop a few hundred bills on a frag, then go for VIW. For me, if it smells 80% vs the original then im not quibbling about how "crap" it is just because it doesnt have Creed on the bottle. Pisses me off, because many potential punters are put off by ignorant fragheads who dont even consider there are ppl whom $400 is a month's income. Get real, if you can afford the real thing, go for it. But allow some of us the latitude to scale down to our income bracket, and enjoy something near the original. Rant over

Virgin Island Water on Crack simple. Smells like VIW but this one stays and does it stay haha. I get about a nice 8 hrs out of it with 2 sprays to each side of the neck. After the 8 hrs it becomes a skin scent at which point i was still able to smell it on me after 14 hrs of applying it. If your a fan of Creeds Virgin Island Water but dont like the longevity give this a shot. Like mentioned previously since these fragrances are mixed the day the order is received you should give it about a week or two from when you receive it for everything to blend nicely.

Ignore the clown below me. This smells exactly like VIW, can't even tell the difference. Performance seems solid. Will have to see how long it performs well but typically Dua is stronger than OG Creeds so not too concerned. Scent - wise this is beautiful. My wife isnt a huge citrus fragrance fan but she loves it, there's just enough Lime and Coconut that it doesn't have that overly citrus feel and instead feels like a super realistic cocktail. Going to make this my new gym scent. (Sorry pacific chill, had a good run!)

This is one beast of a perfume. You understand at first sniff it's going to last a whole day. Very summery. Takes you immediately to your most favorite tropical paradise as soon as you put it on. Since this is only 30 ml, if you calculate Creed's original 120 ml bottle, the price is not that different. But this one easily outperforms Creed by twice as much since it's perfume extract. So you get twice for your buck if not more if you go with Caribbean Waters.

This is definitely a scent that's close to VIW. You can certainly get the same notes as VIW, lime, rum, sea salt and a hint of coconut. I just received it today. What separates CW is the longevity and projection. VIW just doesn't last very long. Even being almost November here in Canada, this stuff is still projecting and lasting like crazy for my first test.

Just purchased. The coconut and sugar makes this more upscale and blended better than set sail saint barts. Definately smell the quality. Not too impressed with projection but it's hard for coconut notes to be strong. Will linger on clothes for a week. Best suited as a close quarters scent.

Smells exactly like key lime pie to me. I love key lime pie. I will not attest to how close of a clone it is since I have only smelled VIW once a long time ago. This is an amazing fragrance IMO. Their shipping may suck but dua definitely have the best dupes.

This is a good scent and it does resemble Creed's VIW. This is not cheaper than VIW because you can find VIW at discounters for about the same price. I prefer Creed's VIW but this is a very good clone.

Very nice fragrance and is close to VIW. For this price a great dupe. I had VIW several times, i love it but really lacks performance....a shame.

Dua Fragrances Caribbean Waters opens with a moderate projection of sweet, citrus, and boozy accords. The opening is very fresh, delectable, and pleasant. The citrus accords are very intense, the combination of bergamot, lime, and mandarin produce a sharp citrus note closer to the bergamot than to the lime of mandarin. The white rum is a soft boozy accord, not as prominent as the citrus notes. Creed Virgin Island Water is a great tropical, citrus and slightly booze fragrance; Parfums Vintage Isla Tropical Prive is a clone of Virgin Island Water, a similar fragrance with good performance, and similar price to Creed; Alt Fragrances Caribbean Water No. 52 is a clone of Virgin Island Water, a similar fragrance with less longevity and performance; Davidoff Cool Water Intense is a popular ambery, citrus, coconut and citrus fragrance; Nishane Fan Your Flames features woody, sweet, coconut, and rum notes, and it is very good; Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sun is a poor projecting, marine, citrus, woody and spicy fragrance; Kilian Moonlight in Heaven is a great sweet, coconut, and mango fragrance; Mancera Holidays is a delicious, coconut, floral-fruity and vanilla fragrance. SUMMARY: A moderate projection, sweet, citrusy, coconut fragrance with some rum accords. For you creed fan girls/boys or maybe fragrance purists this one isn't for you. For us folks on modest incomes or bargain hunters that like to smell good this is for you. I've had samples of VIW and it smells awesome and performs good on my skin but it's just too expensive for me. The two major players lime and coconut on Caribbean Waters smell pretty natural and it projects decently also. I have the most recent 2020 formulation of Carribean Waters. Packaging/bottling is much better than what is pictured on fragrantica, if the smell has changed over the years I'm not sure. To each his own but my first impression is that this smells the same as VIW. For you bloodhounds that want an exact replica please pass this by and dont waste your money, just buy the real thing or keep searching for a better dupe if this isnt it. Also imo DUA fragrances are worth the $50 to to $65 price tag for a 30ml bottle. The ones I've purchased so far are very potent and I only need 2 to 4 sprays. If you rotate your frags (if you have a few to rotate) the 30 ml will last a pretty long time at my pace. Also they run sales and discounts frequently so you can save $10 or more depending on the sale. I know this sounds like a testimonial but I genuinely like this and other Duas I've purchased (Poseidon's elixir remixed mod 3, casino royale nights).

REALLY close to Creed Virgin Island Water. Slightly heavier than VIW Obviously, most reviews already mention this but it's the main purpose of this scent as its an admitted clone. VIW is one of my favourite scents but like 99% of people, I find it all too quickly disappears. So after trying several other supposedly similar fragrances and not really getting what I wanted from them, it's a pleasure to wear this. Set Sail St Barts was nice enough but it failed at replicating VIW and although it has slightly longer longevity, it just doesn't do the job, plus it's hard to obtain a full bottle in the U.K. I think if I wore VIW one day and Caribeean Waters the next, people would struggle to notice the difference. A lot of clones fall way short in all areas, not least quality but this is one I can highly recommend as its delicious and for this kind of scent, long lasting. On a separate note, I'm surprised that Poseidons Elixir isn't on the Fragrantica database (yet) but maybe there's more than enough "smells like Aventus" reviews already! Edit: I have to say, I don't like the atomizers that Dua use, they spray weakly and come out like an invisible spritzy cloud 'poof!' and it's hard to tell if any landed on your skin. So there's a potential risk with over applying and it's a bit annoying to me.

My initial reaction to this was tainted by the fact that in my head I have already judged Dua as a cheap knockoff and its hard to put it away. It smelled horrible to me initially, too much lime - smelt cheap and synthetic and almost terrible. I got home and took a shower. Came out with a fresh nasal pallette and shot it on again on both wrists. It was 30 degrees celcius here today so I am already warm after the shower and my house is too warm. The scent again hit me in the face with lime which smells great this time unless I get close to my skin then it is too harsh and chemically. The sharpness of it makes it noticeable with my wrists here at this keyboard, up close still a little not right. What I did notice is that its missing a stronger hit of coconut and rum/sugar sweetness - yeah if you didn't know better you smell VIW until you inspect it closer. I think if I find a really sweet scent that is heavy on coconut or even just sugar cane that is simple up top it might layer well with Carribean waters and take this into a higher region for me. Overall I might buy another bottle once I find a better base to lay it with. 7/10

Been after some juice that’s close to VIW for a while. Tommy St. Barts: Nice scent, but not even close CK One Summer: Further away than St. Barts Palermo VIW dupe: Not even close. Missing the coconut note Roll on, Dua Caribbean Waters... The opening is a bit harsh. It’s fairly synthetic and plastic smelling. Lots happening with the lime and coconut. Faint boozy whiff. Slightly sweet from the sugar. The dry down is welcoming. Not as harsh and in your face. It settles down into a fairly close resemblance to VIW. It does lack some depth due to the missing floral notes and ginger. That lactonic vibe is there. Just not the fizzy zing and banana notes I get from VIW. Projection for the first hour is fairly strong off 2 sprays. Longevity on this is pretty good. 6-7 hours off my skin. I’m sure it’ll bounce harder during the hotter summer days. Overall, this isn’t a bad clone at all. The closest I’ve got to VIW. TBC....

First purchase from Dua. This is super soft on my skin. I get Lime, Coconut and a little rum. Scent doesn't really change from start to finish. Hope it projects more on those crazy hot summer days. All and all its nice. Looking forward to making another purchase from them.

is this spot a spot on clone of VIW? No. Is it a good value alternative? Also no. This should be selling in the $30 range at most. Is it better than Alt. Fragrances attempt at VIW? Yes, absolutely. The Alt. version smells spot on if you smell it from the bottle, but on the skin it's a complete mess. I'm convinced at this point that there's nothing that will touch VIW as far as scent goes on a Caribbean fragrance, however I'm never paying the price of a full bottle because everyone knows the performance is too weak to justify the price. On the dry down DUA gets a pretty close, but the opening isn't great. VIW, like many quality frags, takes you on a little journey from start to finish. DUA doesn't do that. The opening isn't that good, the dry down 30 min later is pretty good. You just need to know it's a linear scent that mimics the DNA of VIW at gets about 90% close. Update: Holycrap, this stuff is still going...it actually got stronger over time instead of weaker. I sprayed this 5+ hours ago. VIW only lasts 2-3 max.

Okay! So here's the thing with this perfume...it smells like VIW sure and I can't deny the high oil content and good value. I can honestly say I was slightly disappointed, not that Caribbean waters has done anything wrong particularly, just that it differs from the Creed in the way it comes across to me. Just to note for the record (yet again!) I'm not a fan of Creed just for the sake of it, many of the scents are too pricey and have batch consistency or performance issues and clones which are there or there abouts are readily available. It's just that though...'there or there abouts' because as for the actual smell of many of them, I must confess...I prefer Creed to the clone. I don't know what it is? could be the ambergris base allegedly used in all of them? I really don't know? This is a prime case of this, I have never owned VIW but have worn samples of it extensively and although it's not a very strong fragrance I have to say I never had those grave performance issues with it. The prospect of a stronger, oil heavy version did appeal to me but DUA CW doesn't quite deliver it, despite your skin shimmering with oil after application. Sure the opening is stark, strong limes and the drydown is a heavily boozy coconut and from that point of view it's great but I think is just destined to be a subtle scent. I think If you don't like this sort of fragrance CW will not make you warm to the experience as it is decidedly heavier (especially for the first hour) and clumsier than VIW. I just think that the Creed has an unknown quality and lighter approach which simple makes it smell better to my nose. There's not a lot in it and I'm glad I got CW, the performance was pretty good but not a marked improvement on VIW if I'm honest. It definitely projects more at first before settling down and did last all day so I can't fault it there. It's passable enough of an approximation not to have to buy VIW if you're that way inclined. I still have a huge problem with clones and feel ashamed for owning the ones I do, even though they were bought as exploratory experiments, because I wouldn't slag something off that I'd never tried.

I bought this blindly without knowing what VIW smells like. When I tried it on about 10 days ago, I didn't like it at all. The opening was a very harsh lime and I didn't get anything else. To make matters worse, it didn't last beyond 2 hours for me, not even as a skin scent. On the advise of Mahsam, as well as other users, I let it sit for a week and today, I've give it another try. Well, letting Caribbean Waters definitely did help. It's far more potent now than it was 7-10 days ago. The key difference is in the opening. It's no longer a lime blast, but more of a cocktail-like smell now. I can definitely get the coconut and sugar cane now in the mix and it makes for a more 'calmer' scent unlike it was earlier. All of this supported by the rum in the background. I was getting a little under 2 hours with it on my previous attempt. It's a scent that stays close to your skin after a couple of hours now, but it does last, been well over 6 hours since I put it on now. I like it more, but it's not something I see myself reaching out for very often. I can see myself wearing it on a hot summer day in a very casual setting, or if I were to go on a holiday. What works in its favor though is that it has a very soft silage, but keeps you smelling good for a long time. 5/10

This is the copy of Virgin Island Water. I'm on a Dua kick to sample/try a bunch of these to see if the hype is real or if it's just a oil bottling company. Every dupe I'm trying I own the original. This one has a strong similarity to VIW in the opening. The lime note is pretty much spot on to the original. The opening, upon first spray, absolutely replicates pretty closely that of VIW. But, as it dries down, the more synthetic nature of Caribbean Waters comes through, especially in the base where you get a very strong dose of Iso-E and Ambroxan plus that coconut/rum. Longevity is insane on my skin, and not just the Iso-E and Ambroxan. I got 12+ hours of strongly noticeable scent. I'll give this a 6.5/10. It's a clone of VIW for a few minutes but the dry down smells much like other Dua scents - all Iso E and Ambroxan. It's far too screechy and off smelling as it dries down for me to give this a decent score.

Very summery and citrusy fragrance, the notes of citrus and lime are adding a lot of freshness in the entire fragrance. It does have the spice element as well. However, surprised by the longevity of the fragrance. I was not expecting more than 8 hours but it stayed for like 16-17 hours. Overall rating 8.5/10

If you really owned or even tried Virgin island Water then you should know the differences. 70% similar and synthetic as hell. Also no depth at all. Go for VIW. Almost same price.

On my skin, i get an initial burst of citrus, then a rather dull coconut musk follows in the drydown. I can't for the life of me smell the sugarcane and rum. Just a rather musky, uninteresting coconut note once the citrus top notes disappear after half an hour. Rather disappointed by this considering the note breakdown seemed like something i'd love. I haven't smelled the OG, but if it's anything like this then it's a major letdown. I expected something unisex but i got a bland, unsweetened, musky coconut fragrance that leans way too masculine for my liking. I did let this fragrance sit for about a month before giving it an honest try and still no dice. This one is just a dud i guess.

I have the OG VIW and I have this. I take this on vacation and use the other one as my signature when at home throughout summer. They smell very close, in fact this is lasts a bit longer ON MY SKIN, saying that with larger letters because everyone has a different chemistry and everyone here always thinks their review is the one written in stone! I’ve been wearing the original since it came out in 2007 bought it at Bergdorfs in Manhattan! I wanted something that smelled similar that I could travel with! DUA is a pretty decent house and I always go to their site when they have a sale to pick up some smaller bottles. Not a bad dupe brand IMO. The longevity on this is very good and I can smell it on my clothes when I toss it in the wash! 12 hours no problem. Very much an everyone fragrance. For the price it’s an excellent dupe!

Ooooh I love this one! Smells like freshly chopped coconut on top of Pinacolada! I can definitely smell the lime, coconut and white rum. But I don't smell like a drunkard... I hope :D I was a bit worried it will smell girly bcs of the coconut, but it's perfectly fine! The longevity is really great, I put few sprays on 3pm just to give it a try and I could notice coconut trail behind me at midnight :) Sillage is moderate I would say. It's definitely not overpowering that people would smell it all over your workplace. And the scent itself is quite light, but in a good way, bcs I wouldn't want to wear a scent that will give you a coconut punch in your nose two streets away.. Overall great summer scent that lasts for looong hours. Can't get enough of it! :)

I recently purchased Caribbean Waters in hopes of finding a fragrance that was close to Virgin Island Water. In my opinion the fragrance was somewhat similar. There is a strong alcohol smell in the initial spray. VIW comes out smooth in the initial spray. During the dry down CW smells more floral than fruity on my skin. VIW is consistently lime and coconut goodness on my skin during the dry down. The performance of CW is great. Im getting 10+ hours of fragrance. The VIW performance is not that great on my skin. I can only get a couple hours out of it. I blind bought CW based on the reviews on youtube. Im disappointed that it doesn't smell like VIW. Meaning I will have to break down and pay Creed the ransom for VIW.

Skip this and buy Alt Fragrance Caribbean Water as it’s about 90 percent accurate to Creeds VIW If not 95 percent. As I was once an idiot that would pay 300 dollars for a bottle of juice because of the NAME on it no more no less. When I smelled Alt Fragrance Caribbean Water I was blown away by it being pretty much the same fragrance as Creed’s VIW. So if you’re the type that can swallow your pride and want to save some money, but want the same quality of fragrance I’d definitely suggest Alt Fragrance Caribbean Water.

Literally made an account to submit this. There is something so repulsive in this when it dries down that it makes my skin crawl. At the start it is deceptively close to original. Then something sinister emerges in it that is so bad. It's like uncanny valley or some shi. For the love of god do not buy this. I scrubbed it off, sterilized my skin, then put my hand in a freezer for an hour to try to run from this thing.

Coconut and sugar notes are dominating here. For those who don't want to spend big money for VIW, guys this is your stuff. It has a huge projection and longivity (after all it is an extract de parfum, and naturally lasts long time). It is close to Virgin Island Water. The lime is first just like VIW, then coconut then sugar cane then rum. It doesn't smell exactly like VIW when you smell it close up on your skin. Maybe 70% similar and harsher. But as I'm typing this and it's projecting off my hand, it smells about 95% similar.

Dua is nothin but a cheap essential oils, cant make a frag company that’s overpriced and capitializing on the fact that most people would rather by a silly clone then buy a decant of the real thing. The owner Michael needs interpersonal skills too My advise is to stay away

The 10 I sampled from this line remind me of industrial room freshener or toilet bowl cleaner . Seriously. I guess you can build a small empire on subpar fragrances at $60 a pop. Never again
