Cotton Candy de Dua

I have many cotton candy fragrances like Aquolina's Pink Sugar, Michel Germain's Sugarful, Candie's Cotton Candy, Gale Hayman's Delicious Cotton Candy, and Tutti Délices' Barbe a Papa. It's one of my favorite notes. This fragrance from The Dua Brand is one of the best. What I appreciate the most is the lack of burnt sugar and alcohol smells. Cotton Candy de Dua starts sweet and stays sweet, and you can smell the pure cotton candy and sugary vanilla. These two notes are made for each other. Since this is an extrait de parfum, the sillage is excellent and it lasts for hours. If you enjoy very sweet fragrances, please give this a try. It sells out often, so don't hesitate if you really want it.

I was worried when I read some of the negative comments about this fragrance, but I went ahead and purchased it since I usually love the Dua brand. I'm glad I followed my instinct. This really works for me. It starts out like a light, fluffy sugary dream. When it dries down, it settles to a sweet, mature candy-like scent. I read some comments that the musk takes over. For me, the musk tempers down the sweetness just enough to make it a more mature, anytime fragrance. It's not too strong, but it lasts on clothing forever. I really like it.

While it's youthful, it's not a drugstore body spray. (Not that there's anything wrong with that). It's not cheap smelling, and it is going to LAST. Personally, I love it. I think it's beautiful and cheerful. It is mostly cotton candy, but the other notes, specifically the musk in it make it a fragrance and not a sugary dollar store spray. And, heads up-if left to macerate for a couple weeks, it goes beastmode. Dua regularly has sales, often 30% off their already somewhat affordable pricing. It's easy to get addicted.

THE BEST cotton candy fragrance I have tried so far and I have Pink Sugar, Sugarful, various cheapies... this stuff takes the cake. The longevity is to die for. One spray on my wrist and I could smell it all day - I even applied self tanning mousse later on in the afternoon (usually a total fragrance killer) and STILL could smell it for the rest of the night. Can't recommend enough. Scent is very true to cotton candy as well, imo!

While I do like it and it's a nice scent, it's just not special in any way. Like at all. It's so typical, so common, so juvenile, so body-mist-like type of scent. Also it doesn't smell like cotton candy AT ALL. It smells more like candy and should be called "Candy de DUA" because the title is very misleading imo. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't smell bad in any way, it's just not special and it does not smell like cotton candy. I decluttered it. Scent 7/10 Longevity 7/10 Sillage 6/10 Projection 6/10

Its a nice scent...you get cotton candy at first spray...then mid notes of musk and powdery scent remain for quite a bit..before the soft sugar dry down. Not quite as cotton candy that id hope for..definitely a more mature candy. Once I get past the powdery stage..I do enjoy it. Letting this macerate for a bit..then I'll see what it gives me in a month or 2.

This is one you definitely have to let sit for a while. When I first go it, it smelled like an unlit candle... not good. I let it "sit" for about 2 weeks untouched and it smells more like the name of the fragrance now. Don't give up on this house! Let you fragrances mancerate to get the full fragrance!

Was so excited for this fragrance, however the only thing I can smell is PLAYDOUGH!

This is not a good cotton candy scent. It’s incredibly musky and the reason why I found out o hate musk. So many good perfumes are ruined by it!!! It’s pretty strong though so I’m sad I didn’t like it.

I wanted to like this, but I just can't. The musk is overwhelming and gives the fragrance an unpleasant heaviness.

Everything sounded SO good about this scent but when it arrived, I smelled distinctively a liquorice (star anise) scent that reminds me of Aquolina's Pink Sugar, which I dislike. This is very similar to that and it is priced higher? I'm disappointed.

Give it a month. Anything with Dua’s “vanilla” in it will turn. My vanillas all smell of pure alcohol now and were stored and cared for properly.

I am a cotton candy lover and I did not like this fragrance. The only other cotton candy fragrance I’ve bought that really speaks to me is body fantasies but it’s just a body spray and has zero longevity. Cotton candy de dua has great longevity but it smells almost like burnt sugar to me, kinda like pink sugar by aquolina. I really liked pink sugar when I was younger but I bought a new bottle very recently and I can’t do it bc there’s something really synthetic in the fragrance, I like it as a room spray though. Cotton candy de dua I wouldn’t even use as a room spray honestly. It’s only been marinating for a month (the site says to let the fragrances sit for a while after spraying and it’s supposed to smell more like what it’s intended to) but I still don’t like the way it smells. I agree with the other reviews saying it smells musky and powdery. I also think it’s synthetic, burnt smelling and thick. No lightly spun airy cotton candy here, no juiciness. Honestly in my opinion the opposite of what a cotton candy fragrance should smell like. I really like duas other stuff though, the brand makes really amazing fragrances with great longevity and protection.

I did not like this one and I agree it has that licorice Pink Sugar vibe which is alright, but repetitive. Its cousin tho, Cotton Candy Milk is phenomenal, safe blind buy imo. I love Cotton Candy Milk, it smells like milky candied magnolias and reminds me of a magnolia- vanilla shower gel I used as a kid in the summer. It is in the Milkylicious clan being creamy kinda bubblegum-like indolic and ethereal at the same time - it might even be better than Milkylicious and same league as VS Love Me... and let's add to that the Dossier Floral Marshmallow for Love Don't Be Shy being more marshmallowy. For a true Cotton Candy scent I use the BBW Cotton Candy Clouds and DUA's Circus of the Sun which has a subtle cotton candy note but realistic and it features some other elements too.

This smells exactly like the PEZ candies that used to come in the fun little dispensers; I'm not sure if those are still a thing anymore. But this is lovely if you're into sweet scents! It doesn't smell screechy or unnatural at all. Just pure spun sugar or candy on a bed of musk. While it is sweet, it somehow manages to have a light and airy quality to it, so I can see myself wearing this in the spring as well as the cooler months. Unfortunately due to the ridiculously shady ways of the brand owner, I will no longer be purchasing this or anything else from them because I don't care to put my money towards a brand that so openly doesn't run on integrity.

It's definitely a mature cotton candy and I was hoping I would like it but I don't think I do. It's a very mature, powdery smell to this. It's like a sweet version of the floral perfumes my grandma wore. When I say I want cotton candy fragrance, I'm thinking sweet sugary caramelized goodness. Not sweet floral. I'm going to let it sit & see if it changes but will more than likely sell it.

Received this for Christmas. I was hoping this was going to be the cotton candy scent I've been searching for. Nope, doesn't smell like cotton candy to me. The musk ruined it a bit. All I smell is caramel and musk. I think a perfume called cotton candy should smell like cotton candy. I do like this and will use it up. This stuff is strong, so I'd got lightly with the spraying.

If you are looking for something that smells like cotton candy, this is not it. My husband was standing next to me after I sprayed it and said “What is that smell? Something smells like hospital. Wait, is that the dog?? Did something get on the dog?” UPDATE: My 14 year old son loves it. But he brushes his teeth once a week so don’t trust him. 💀

The most unusual cotton candy scented luxurious spray you'll ever smell. If you want sickeningly sweet pure spun sugar this is not it this is sweet but also has musk in it it's just very different ..a tiny bit mature cotton candy grown adult XXX VERSION!! LOL if that makes sense, it works it's a very grown ass sexy scent for sure I love it !

Smells just like a much more intense version of Prada Candy. Doesn't smell like cotton candy to me, it's definitely a caramel, slightly powdery, musky sweet scent. If Prada Candy doesn't last long enough and isn't strong enough for you, definitely try this!
