Divine Green

Lots of florals listed, but it really comes off, at least to my nose, as photorealistic lily of the valley. I know this fragrance well because it blooms alongside my regular dog-walking circuit, and I always pick a bloom or two and put them in my pocket to huff periodically. I'm not sure if it ranks as a true LOTV soliflore, but because that is mostly what I perceive, I will rank it thusly in my personal perfume taxonomy. Update: On full wear, as it dries down on my skin, perhaps into the third or fourth hour, I'm reminded of some of my favorite gardenia perfumes, including the great and underrated Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia, the one in the beautiful green bottle-glass casket-shaped bottle. It's more LOTV in the opening, and over time it subtly resolves to a more general white floral mix, with plenty of freesia and non-indolic ylang-ylang that reads more like tuberose-gardenia/jasmine to me, but those notes aren't listed. I can't say I pick up on the iris and rose as specific notes, but they do make the white florals sing more. I haven't even given this much time to mature and deepen, and I'm sure it was bottled pretty recently. Divine Green is a vaulted fragrance and not as readily available as some of the others, although it's much easier to acquire this Dua impression (I'll call it a tribute!) than the Guerlain OG, which is sold on one day only, for more than $500 a pop, so let's just say I won't be doing a compare/contrast anytime soon. If you don't like soapy floral fragrances, you won't like this, but I adore a good green floral that smells like fancy French toiletries and sachets. Some will say this smells "mature," which I suppose is probably true if your idea of femininity hinges on simulating a dessert. Personally, I would rather smell like the genital organs of plants, hahaha.

Update: I sweated off all the Diorissimo that I was wearing earlier--it is brutally hot today--and after I cleaned up and cooled off, I sprayed on a few spritzes of Divine Green. Lily-of-the-value and other green notes always make me feel clean and refreshed. My husband smelled me as soon as he got home from work and complimented me, correctly identifying it as a vintage fragrance profile and telling me how much he liked this one in particular. It really is a lovely tribute to an otherwise unobtainable historical beauty.

Got this for the heck of it since I'll probably never get a bottle from the money-gouging Guerlain; I'd say it's only 85% similar and less refined, but still more realistic than the cheap classics...You're better off getting Mughetto from SMN.
