Drowning in Caramel Cherry Delight

Absolutely positively one of the sexiest fragrances I own. This is a sweet syrupy almost a little smoky creamy scent. It has a mysterious sort of quality to it. Now that I think about it this is absolutely something Fiona Goode would wear. For those who don't know Fiona good is Jessica Lange's character in Coven.

This is much nicer on the drydown than on first spray. Tessture (reviewer below) is right that there is a heavy amount of citrus (the notes say bergamot and blood orange, but could be lemon) in the top notes that clash with and overpower the caramel (very present!), vanilla (same!), woods, and cherry (less present). However, once the citrus calms down a bit, this a lovely gourmand - sexy and complex. The cherry starts to come out and play, the caramel stays, the vanilla is very "nishane-y" with the citrus, incense and woods interwoven in (in a more subtle way), and the almond, jasmine and florals sit calmly in the background, letting the boozy dessert notes shine without being too cloying. But seriously, you have to let the opening citrus settle. For like 30 minutes at least. Well worth the low cost of the bottle in any case.

amber flash is correct. The opening is harsh. I think that’s the Lira coming through. I have Dua’s Lira dupe and that opening is harsh too. Very lemony and synthetic. I also feel like I smell ginger, which I’m not always a fan of. The dry down is beautiful though, cherry vanilla, caramel with a powdery hint of lavender musk. Very pretty.

A heavy spray brings rubbing alcohol and lemon pledge. Dries to a simplistic, grating cherry with sweet notes, citric acid and cedar sawdust, like it was swept up off the machine shop floor. Really not good. It’s not the wonderful notes listed at all. Will let it rest for a few weeks and see if it gets better, but so far, it’s not good. Not scream-y, but just clunky and abrasive. Scrubbed it off and three hours later, the skin scent (nose pressed) is a lovely cherry and benzoin type blend. What a pity it sucks so much.
