Drowning In Oolong Tea

Wulong Cha is one of my all time favorite fragrances. I've never smelled Ani, but I adore this hybrid by Dua. It's one of the only fragrances (including the OGs that I own) that I have a backup bottle of. I hope to never be without it!

Citrus should be at the top of the accords listed. This is the smell of your fingers after peeling a mandarin orange, standing in the kitchen near a wooden spice rack and a steaming kettle. I love oolong but there's not enough here to justify the name; this is 'steeped in orange peels.' However, I often dislike citrus-heavy fragrances so might have missed out on this one if I hadn't been suckered in by the tea. Turns out this fragrance is really charming. The orange is not a cleansing top note - it is a warm and weighty heart note that lingers for hours, like zest baked into gingerbread. Definitely unisex, a sort of masculine gourmand. Delicious without being sugary. Cozy and enticing. The woods are secure instead of aggressive. I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs a few months from now, as I'm sure at this low price Dua didn't macerate the bottle.
