Dua Vaniglia

For how simple this fragrance is, it’s so good. Definitely one of my most reached for scents. I get no caramel at all. It’s pure vanilla cotton candy on my skin. Sometimes I don’t want my perfume to smell like perfume. Sometimes I just want to smell straight up gourmand goodness without musk or sandalwood. This is perfect for layering, but I wear it alone. The best DUA has to offer, IMO

This was an exact, perfect dupe in the beginning. If you still have some of the first few bottles, you’ve got a gem. It still smells fantastic, but now it has absolutely zero lasting power. Something happened to Dua’s vanilla fragrances all at once... I personally believe they changed suppliers because the quality clearly changed. I’m actually really sad about that considering the original Vaniglia is $200/bottle. Not that the lasting power of the original is fantastic, but I’d rather fork it out for the one with better longevity.

This reminds me sooo much of Outremer’s Vanille. I bought that one because I was told it’s such a simple sweet vanilla. It only has 2 notes of vanilla and cotton candy. Very sweet, very linear and exactly what you’d want if you were looking for a simple layering vanilla. I was a bit disappointed when I smelled this because I don’t want repeats in my collection. I have been told dua fragrances really need to sit to reach their full potential, so I sprayed this out, put it back in its box and have just been letting it go, hoping when I come back to it it is not the same as something I already own. PLUS I was actually thinking about getting the original of this fragrance which runs a pretty penny. Imagine how upset I would have been to find out that a $20-$30 perfume I could get from a clothing chain resembled an expensive niche perfume WITHOUT even trying 😐 Glad I started with the dua first to really get a feel for it.

Very simple and uncomplicated vanilla. I got it for layering purposes and it does the job!

Outremer on steroids. Unfortunately sickly to me
