Dua’s Blondie

I absolutely love this scent. Tom Ford is one of my favorite fragrance designers, and Iris is my favorite note. I have many bottles of Dua Iris based perfumes. They are all well done and this is no exception. The longevity is good... and I rarely get much lasting power out of fragrances. Someone else said that it was a sillage powerhouse. On me, I will disagree with that. It started off as an arm length scent and three hours later it’s a nose to skin scent. But....my skin eats perfume. You might have better results.

Violet Blonde with the orris factor turned up very high with stronger leather. My bottle has been macerating for over a month, and the orris is the strongest note, feels a bit 'wet' whereas TF's leans 'dry'. It's a nice dupe and can definitely stand alone. Projects very loudly and leaves a very noticeable trail. Dua's scents are extraits, so they tend to be powerhouse in terms of projection.

Initially, I strongly disliked this fragrance. It's an interesting amalgamation of masculine leather, feminine baby powder, and... circus peanuts candy. Yes, there is an unmistakable scent of fake-banana marshmallow circus peanuts. I revisited this scent again today and I still strongly dislike it. Interestingly, there is now a medicinal base note present... like antibiotic ointment. I guess I thought it might mellow into something more pleasant over time, but it's getting worse somehow. I prefer to pass along scents that don't agree with me, but I'll have to trash this one. Can't risk having to smell it again.
