Emperor Shizu’s Muscs

At the open, the rose and vanilla jump at you, giving the illusion of a feminine bubble gum sweet musk. Once the perfume settles however, you get the warm and radiating animalic musk. The animalic note is more muted than my liking, but it’s not a deal breaker. I’m still very satisfied with this. In case you are wondering, this a clone of Serge Lutens Muscs Koublai Khan, which has sadly been discontinued. The brief open is a floral, clean smelling musk, which put me off, but that quickly goes away, and the dry down is almost 95% the same as the OG. I’m very satisfied with this fragrance, as I pretty much gave up on finding the OG, and was losing hope that I would ever get to wear it again. Although, the Dua is less animalic, it’s still close enough to my satisfaction, and still has the same wow factor for me. Also, the Dua is more wearable in comparison. Longevity for me is more than 8 hours, but projection is pretty moderate from beginning to end; I’m not too hung up on the projection, because this is not a loud scent to begin with (including the OG) and I prefer it that way.
