Extreme Rebellion

The opening is leathery by the osmanthus, kinda heavy and it smells minty as in police To be My Avatar where the osmanthus-lemon create a leathery minty effect, but they are different scents. Not crazy about a leathery osmanthus. The rose and jasmine are very aldehydic and dewy-fresh not balsamic, just fresh, perhaps creating the aldehydes effect in this, while the amber intensifies the leathery feel of the osmanthus. Nothing smoky but certainly pungent leathery and amber-y at first. So the opening is very sour and aldehydic. The tuberose and milk don't render it milky smooth or bubblegum-sweet as I'd have expected. It is very rose-heavy also. The tuberose and narcissus appear later and they are fresh dewy, not sweet, but at this point the scent isn't as sour and the dewy rose takes a step back. The narcissus is not sugared sweet as I'd expect it to be with the amber like it is in VS Love Me where it's bubblegum-sweet and sugared by the amber. The amber and leathery effect aren't intense in the drydown and the scent becomes more creamy, less sour yet still aldehydic. My mom also did not like it at first it's opening I mean; it smelled like a cleaning product to her which I disagree with, it's not that bad, but she liked the later drydown and agreed that it gets better. The cedar keeps it on the dry aldehydic side. Due to the rose - jasmine and the aldehydic effect it strongly reminds me of La Live Moonlight Lady/Boss Nuit only not as violet-heady, as sweet and aldehydic as that one. This is deeper than Moonlight Lady, but they are similar, not dupes. My mom and I liked Moonlight Lady more. The projection is good but it doesn't last long. I do like the scent of the projected. The later drydown is soft, aldehydic and soapy, very calming so I do love that. So not bad but not my favorite but I think in time it will get better. It's a refreshing spring time, summer and fall scent. Warm weather friendly.
