Fig & Vanilla

This is what I wanted the pricey JPG Scandal Absolu to be (which I regret buying) and it wasn't. This is an aromatic ripe fig that is not the sour type and it's surrounded by nutty, lactonic and earthy elements while allowing the fig to shine without being overly jammy like cooked fruit or spicy which I don't mind, but I wanted something new with ripe fig, so this different than Tease Heartbreaker and Brown Sugar and Fig but still in the same jammy fig league as there is a jammy fig-rose essence here too. I wanted jammy fig like this one but with a more aromatic and fresher element to it and that's what this is. The davana is usually a dirty dusty grassy note that I refrain from, but here it's not like that, just adding a natural earthy aromatic tone to the scent. The Rose provides its own subtle jammy element and it suits the scent so it's not balsamic vintage dominating the composition. The balsam intensifies the cool-toned subtle balsamic vibe in this that suits the deep green scent of the fig so well and it's giving the impression of eating ripe figs under the shade of a big fig tree. I grew up in my fishing Greek village and we had some acres with big fig trees so im loving the vibe from this. The iris makes this more feminine and slightly powdery sweet at the drydown like a comforting cupcake doll powdery effect without compromising the ripe jammy fig scent. The tonka accentuates the ripe fig scent in this just as in tease heartbreaker the tonka with the green notes create a fig-like impression. This is my new favorite fig scent. Well done DUA, you're the best.

I put this on last night before bedtime and could still smell it on my skin when I woke up. It's a beautiful fig-vanilla fragrance that smells cleaner and fresher than most "gourmand" fragrances, with distinct floral, balsamic, and ambery notes. My husband liked it but mostly just noticed the vanilla; I can pick up on the other notes and find this to be more unusual than other vanilla-forward frags in my collection. I bought this on a whim without testing, and I wasn't familiar with the OG, but I have no regrets. I think I will wear this even more often once it has a chance to mature and deepen. All the Dua vanillas benefit from that, I think. This is crazy, but I have had it on my skin for more than 13 hours, and it is still perceptible, both the fig and the vanilla, as well as something woody that I can't quite pinpoint but that reminds me of Un Bois Vanille/A Vanillac Wood. It must be the tolu balsam combined with the davana. Truly a wonderful fragrance, one that I can easily imagine reaching for all year long, in all kinds of weather. It was cool and humid today, and this smelled just right.

Oh I hear you, everyone who said this is boring. I thought so too. I thought it was very one-dimensional when I first got it lo and behold over a year later it’s in the back of my cabinet and it is now dark brown and smells like heaven. Why don’t they let these age before selling them? The mature version is something that smells very close to Orchidee vanille, and you can get an oil perfumery dupe of orchidee vanille to layer under this and OMGeeeeee!! Longevity is all day, like most Duas. This smells like airy vanilla with a twist of fig and mandarin orange that floats on the air like a delicate cloud and doesn’t intrude or ever feel heavy. All weather-friendly. It’s pure magic.✨ you just have to be patient and wait for it I guess? Wait till it’s golden brown, then go!

This perfume is among my favorites. It lasts FOREVER. I was organizing my perfumes and came across this one. I had forgotten just how wonderful it was. It's been a while since I wore it and it's been sitting in my perfume closet just macerating. Well, it's even better now!!! I sprayed it on a cotton pad to revive my memories of it. I immediately realized that it's a deeper, more sensual scent that it was before. Not too loud, not too sweet, just dang good. I should also mention that the fragrance is still going strong on the cotton pad over a week later. I'm ordering another one for "backup".

They have done an amazing job with this perfume. A kissing cousin to Orchidee Vanille -- it's warm, with a tart sweetness that keeps me sniffing my wrists. You need to let it macerate, 2-4 weeks. But it's totally worth the wait.

This is sweet and pretty but awfully boring. Just fig and vanilla, linear, light and airy, decadent. I do enjoy it but I’d love a bit more complexity. It may be that my bottle’s too new. Dua does well with maturation so I’ll wait and hope to update!

Have to agree it is very boring and linear perfume. Perhaps it needs to macerate but I cannot even smell it. I put 10 sprays on one of my shirts to see if I can pick up the scent and I cannot smell much at all. Edit: it looks like a lot of dua brand perfumes suffer from a same problem and need to sit. Beware of Dua Brand reviews tho, they will not let through any reviews with 3 stars or less. I would give it 2 stars. For being boring, generic and forgetful. I have over 50 perfumes and right now it holds the most boring award. Boring vanilla with some sweetness...
