First Love

Been wearing this for two days now, and, even without macerating for a month or so, it is very good stuff. I originally rated it as a four, but just bounced the total rating up to five. I don't own the Dior Vanilla Diorama but used to work near the Nordstrom flagship in Manhattan and would go in and try it out, so I am fairly familiar with it. This stuff is very close on dry down, maybe 85%. The initial spray is a bit harsh, stings my nose, but it settles quickly into that unsweet, warm and boozy vanilla that is so familiar from the original Dior. It is a bit more synthetic, and not quite as warm, smooth, or well balanced as the Dior, but the performance is just as good. Stuff lasted all day on my skin and I could still smell it there the next morning. I'm also over 24 hours in on clothing and it is still going strong. My wife loves it (really loves it), so it will get a lot of wearings. My only hesitation is that it is very expensive for a clone fragrance at about $55 USD for only 30ml. You can find the original Dior for a bit under $300 for 125ml, which would be a hair under $75 for the equivalent amount as the small bottle of Dua. So the Dua is less, but not by a huge margin. That was the reason for my original rating. But, this stuff is strong.... you only need 2-3 sprays, so that makes up a bit for the price. I may try the Perfume Parlour Sweet Spice 1644, since it is a bit more reasonably priced.
