I'm A Sexy Mess Rolling Out Of Bed

I have never smelled the OG--and probably never will, at its current price--but I love I'm a Sexy Mess Rolling Out of Bed, the Dua extrait impression, which set me back $33. Full disclosure: I cannot speak to how sexy it is. "Sexy" is highly subjective, and people have very different scent associations. Not to kink shame or anything, but some of you pervs do love some foul odors! That said, I think I go anosmic to many musks, and it's possible that the musk in this base is operating on a level that is simply beyond my conscious awareness. What I get from this fragrance is lots of almond, heliotrope, a rose that smells more like lilac in this context, and a soft blond woody accord that blends beautifully with the toffee-vanilla-amber base. Of all the perfumes I have, this reminds me most of Guerlain Champs-Elysées. They don't smell the same--Sexy Mess is, well, messier, and also fluffier-creamier; Champs-Elysées is more honeyed floral with almond and has buddleia, not lilac, but they both are appealing easy reaches. Update: All husband gets from it is "bakery." If a perfume has vanilla in it, that's all he smells. I don't even notice the vanilla in this one, but maybe my skin amplifies it somehow. Update from January 2025: It's significantly stronger than it was a few months ago, and I feared I oversprayed. Very strong now, but that's good if you use it in moderation. Still reminds me a bit of Champs-Elysées but not as much now. The balsam notes are truly beautiful and almost Guerlainesque.

Whoaaa I have never had a perfume take me on a trip like this. Like I think this is what I’ve been on the hunt for without even knowing. This is smells like how I expected B540 to smell and how I expected my Angham perfume to smell. This smells like a bright citrusy sugar crystal. Wow. And I didn’t even get to let her macerate. This is my reaction just out of the box. This is for sure a safe blind buy as well. I bought the 100 ml and I don’t regret it one bit.

This literally smells like a sexy mess who just rolled out of bed. It is feminine, not too much or complex but also unique. It is a scent I have never smelled before. This is something you wear when you overslept and had less time to get ready but still want to smell nice. Suitable for all seasons and all times of the day imo. It is not too overwhelming for in the summer but also not too light for in the winter. Love it!

This is a gourmand lover’s clean girl scent! It has beautiful notes of peach blossom (gives a creamy fruitiness), heliotrope (slightly powdery), tonka and toffee. It’s the perfect easy reach when I want to smell clean but not like soap. It smells like sweet skin after a good night’s sleep.

Well the opening reminded me of a more floral-balsamic, very rose-heavy Good Girl CH due to their common notes - the almondy heliotrope here, bergamot, amber, cashmere, rose, tonka. The cashmere wood is intense in the opening and it gives the smooth woody feel in both perfumes, but their resemblance is short-lived because due to the peach blossom, this one morphs into a much different and dimensional scent eventually. This one has a peachy sweet vein that smells a bit sharp as it is paired with the rose, but still candy-sweet like peach blossom is, but much sweeter I'd say from the toffee influence which acts like benzoin here or like caramel so quite reminiscent of Prada Candy's caramel-benzoin warm amber-y and animalic musky sweetness here. Normally peach blossom is lighter than actual peach in perfumes which smells artificially candy-sweet, thick and plastic on me, so peach blossom is lighter yet still candy-sweet, more wearable to me - see BBW Whipped Vanilla Chiffon with the peach blossom and DUA's Caramelized Stone. The mid phase becomes more rose-centered to my nose at first so balsamic rosey - not my favorite part - but the peach blossom eventually dominates the fragrance while the rose becomes less balsamic till it stays muted in the background which is good. The almondy heliotrope is powdery, not dusty, but also not straight up nutty, just milky waxy with the musk, and it's more intense in the opening and mid phase so it makes this more attractive to me since I despise sharp balsamic rose in perfumes. At some point it even reminded me of Eau My Secret Women Secret due to the vintage balsamic rose there and the almond in the floral balsamic setting - not my fav type of perfumes - I dislike sharp balsamic vintage rose even paired with almond. Luckily the vintage sharp rose doesn't stick around. At the later drydown the fragrance becomes a candy-sweet peachy scent, but not artificial or plastic, and with a more subtle powdery waxy almondy impression from the heliotrope, along with the more intense now caramel-like toffee and its amber-y musky animalic base more prominent, similar to DUAs Peach Blossom and Chamomile - minus the Lolita Lempicka heady violet of that one. Peach Blossom and Chamomile - Dua's impression for Matelda Profumo di Firenze - has benzoin and candy-like sweet peach blossom with that musky amber-y, benzoin warmth that Prada Candy has yet lighter just like this one. I think they are sister perfumes due to their candy-sweet peach blossom and their amber-musky, benzoin there - toffee here, sweet base, even though they combine different other elements - like the vintage sharp balsamic rose and almondy heliotrope here. Peach Blossom and Chamomile has a citrusy fruity grapefruit-lemon element with the heady cold violet and the Hot Couture cooked fruit vein. So if you dislike the rose but love the amber-y sweet musky base and the candy-sweet peach blossom, you will like DUA's Peach Blossom and Chamomile. While none of them are like Prada Candy, they do share the warm amber-y benzoin or toffee warmth reminiscent of Candy, not as powdery as Prada Candy, but equally musky.

I really dislike this perfume. My dislike has nothing to do with the performance of the perfume, but with the actual notes themselves. The toffee and Tonka, I guess, combine to give a very lactonic scent which I despise. I hate this trend toward gourmand fragrances. Most of them have a milky quality that some folks love but is the absolute pits on my body. This perfume ends up smelling like dried baby formula spit up on me....admittedly a bougie high end baby formula. If the milky, vanilla smell is your vibe, you’ll love it.
