Maple Praline

Beautifully woody and sweet, a bit smoky by the pepper blends, guaiac wood and Peru balsam and it's deliciously resinous sweet with the olibanum-peru balsam blend, nothing dusty unlike Magnetic Moon which is similar but super nauseatingly milky by the styrax and dusty (loads of pink pepper with spicy cardamom which can be peppery). It's balsamic resinous, syrupy - in the opening especially - truly like maple syrup with roasted chestnuts by a campfire, with a deep delicious vanilla-like nutty essence from the chestnut mixed with the Peru balsam which offers that deep, vanillic, balsamic ambery warm element here along with its botanical edge, its clove-like smoky smooth spice and its earthy undertone. The Peru balsam as a note and in this blend is reminiscent of the styrax note but it's more wearable. For instance in Touched by an Angel (similar to Magnetic Moon) the styrax is milky and it makes me nauseous in that fragrance. The chestnut is so beautiful in deep, green woody scents just as it is in Pepe Jeans Celebrate (a different scent profile but gorgeous too). The sweet smoky woody resinous quality of this is reminiscent of By the Fireplace MM explained by their common notes (chestnut, Peru balsam, cloves, pink pepper, guaiac) but that one is overly smoky due to the overload of smoky tar-like leathery Guaiac wood so I prefer this one even tho Dua lists guaiacwood in the notes it's rather subtle only offering the smooth smoky woody effect without leathery facets. Same goes for the overly smoky Dossier's woody chestnut the BTF dupe which I had returned. Guaiac can be nice when it's balanced also in lighter and citrusy scents like Korres Philosia. This is smooth and balanced and so the smoky effect is attractive. This is one of my favorite resinous woody scents. I hope DUA starts shipping to Europe again cuz I got it while I lived in the Perfectly unisex not masculine at all.
