Plumlicious

Had this for a few months, top off. This is ripened plums preserved in saffron and oud oil with some greenness at the top. Overall it wears rich and slightly boozy, but the boozy aspect leans a touch medicinal but not offputtingly so. Perfect for cool/cold weather, lasts for ages, projects very strongly. It's possible there may have been a reformulation/tweaking of the original composition because the previous reviews don't match up with what I smelled in my bottle. Definitely worth trying.

This is a wonderful combo of powerhouse and comfort. The spicy incense is tempered by the lingering sweetness of dark plum. It avoids being cloying in both spiciness and sweetness. While it goes on rather masculine, the dry down leans feminine. Unique and certainly a statement fragrance.

I owned this and found it leaned masculine so I traded it. It's camphorous, herbal, medicinal, a bit floral, a bit woody, a bit spicy. And there's a mild ethereal plum note lost behind it all. If you're expecting a fruity plum note you'll be disappointed. I don't dislike the smell but it's more masculine leaning. A woman can pull this off but i think it would be best on a man. Can't comment on how accurate it is to the Tom Ford it's mimicking.

I tried wearing this twice so far (re-stock Oct/Nov 21 version). It's a blast of oud (similar to TF Plum Japonais) at the opening, but that's the only similarity I can find. Whereas Plum Japonais eventually lightens to a slightly sweet, spicy plum on me, Plumlicious stays an overpowering soapy oud. Not many are on my hate shelf, but this is close. I will give it a few more tries, but Plumlicious was either reformulated once it was back in stock after a year or it doesn't work on me. I love TF Plum Japonais. This DUA reminds me of my grandpa and an old man's bathroom.

@jeanz I have the older version and it did not match up to Plum Japonais either. I don't know if I'd call this oud though. To me it's actually not a bad fragrance, but the dissimilarity with its inspiration is quite disappointing...This one is strong yet sheer and smells more like the fresh fruit peel whereas the original smells rich & jammy (at first); the only reason I didn't get the original is because it dries down to something bitter.
