Poppy

Waxy subtly nutty heliotrope, a warm, woody nutty musky-waxy and solar element from the ambrette (reminiscent of pear as ambrette does sometimes being fruity/waxy) with a metallic tone in the drydown. When I smell my skin there's a salty waxy animalic element like unripe pear as ambrette mingles with the poppy. A delicious starchy scent from the barley, a slightly sweet, "fleshy" powdery orris (I love orris), velvety warm earthy tonka adding depth and an aromatic slightly citrusy, bright yet smooth poppy accord with the fig both offering a green tinge to the scent. Calming yet bright, sweet, balanced. Perfection. I wanna try Sweet Paradise by French Avenue but I suspect it might be more citrusy and might be soapy by the peony. I wouldn't call this scent soapy. I acquired Poppy about 2 yrs ago and it's alot smoother now. It still turns musky sour after 4-5 hrs so that's a minus for me but I still love it as a scent cuz it's unique. Don't know how it compares to the OG.

This is one of the most beautiful scents I own, Dua or otherwise. It is so beautifully blended it's hard for me to pick out any particular notes or even be able to describe it. I'm thinking maybe candied Irises?? I am not a florals person, but this doesn't smell like a typical white floral. It's complex and beautiful. I love the OG scent but was very salty that it lasted all of 1 hour on my skin. But not this. This is borderline beast mode and at a ridiculous price point. Love love love this one.

There's something sweet, smokey and incense-like about this fragrance. Very unique. This feels more like a cool/cold weather day or night perfume. Silage is strong. But, I'm feeling I like the OG Jo Malone better.
