Poseidon’s Elixir 13ZZ

Poseidon’s Elixir 13ZZ (introduced in 2018) is my favorite Dua inspired expression of Creed Aventus to date, based on batch 13ZZ01, specifically. I regard this version as excellently balanced the bright/fresh/fruit and smoky/birch-risk aspects, with a good balance of invigorating freshness and long-lasting depth. While its reputation precedes itself, Aventus is not even among my top Creed scents, but when executed well either by Creed itself or various other interpreters, it’s very versatile and satisfying. Of course, the Dua inspired expressions of Aventus are not the cheapest, as it (seemingly) is the most duplicate fragrance or line of fragrances out there, with many clones by very, very cheap houses, but I do find that 13ZZ is one of the very best from Dua and in general, so I’d recommend checking it out since it flies a bit under the radar, in my opinion, since the Dua catalogue alone contains many Aventus clones, hybrids, etc. and it can sometimes be difficult to keep up. 7 out of 10

Poseidon’s Elixir 13ZZ fell completely flat within 1 year.

I’ve had a small bottle of this in my collection for years. Wearing it occasionally and slowly watching it dwindle. My partner does love this on me but because I have so many fragrances it was easy to just limit the use and stretch it out for several years. Also, the potency of this 13ZZ is amazing. Two sprays and you are totally good for the day. So my little bottle was down to the last few wearing and decided to wear it today. I walk into the UPS Store to ship something, and before I can say a word, the woman behind the counter says ‘Oh my god, I have to ask, what is that fragrance you are wearing? You smell incredible, I have never smelled anything like it.’ I told her what it was and explained the story behind it, and then left store and re-ordered another bottle :) I have about 55 fragrances in my collection. Only about 10 are must-haves, this is one of them.

Not sure what happened but it seems like the strength of this is diminishing over time. I got it over a year ago and when I first sprayed it, all I got was the birch, black currant and oak moss. None of the top notes or citrus came through at all. I let it sit for a month or so and the notes intensified except still no citrus. Today, about a year and half later, it’s incredibly weak. Lasts maybe 4 hours and the sillage is gone. Basically now a smokey skin scent. I have another one from Dua called “Poseidon Jr.” that is amazing! Strong, clean citrus with a classic Aventus drydown. It lasts 8+ hours and has wonderful projection. Sadly, it is no longer on their site for sale. I’ll keep using that one until it is gone and the 13ZZ is going in the bin.
