The Blues

Not a great clone of Jazz. I used to wear YSL Jazz a lot back in the day. Bought this one hoping for it to be a throwback - however this is just too heavy on the geranium or uses the wrong type of geranium raw material. My nose keys in on the geranium note and I completely lose all the nuances that Jazz had for me. Jazz is a complex, nuanced scent with lots of masculine florals that balance out the underlying spices and heavier notes for a sophisticated fragrance that smells great in the air. The Jazz nuances seem to be here underneath the geranium but they're lost on me. I recently tried Habibi NY's Honeyed Tobacco & Oud and that one actually reminds me way more closely to what I remember of Jazz - with a good dollop of honey on top.

A very solid dupe for ysl jazz. I love and own full bottles of all 3 editions of jazz (piano bottle, clear tall glass bottle, and la collection square bottle). The opening is a bit harsher and less cohesive than the originals, but after 10 minutes it’s indistinguishable. Lasts all day as well, just like the stuff in the piano bottle. Definitely worth the low price compared to scouring the internet and fb groups for a deal on the original. If you’re a fan of classic masculine barbershop fougeres like RL Safari, Houbigant Fougere Royale, VC&A Tsar, Cartier Pasha, or even modern interpretations of the style such as Margiela At the Barbers, Penhaligon Sartorial, Invasion Barbare, or even Chanel Platinum Egoiste, this is a must try for you. Smell this and you can see where the subsequent mass appealers that followed such as A&F Fierce and Mont Blanc Legend got their genes from.

This smells odd to me. I have 3 other Dua fragrances and they are very good. This was a miss. It's like shaving cream with an off putting strong note. Maybe geranium like the review below wrote.
