Vanilla Ice Cream

I love Vanilla Vice! But it's $60 for an ounce vs DUA $33...easy 😎🤩

I have Vanilla Vice by Sniff and Vanilla Ice Cream by the Dua Brand. Side by side, Vanilla Ice Cream is sweeter and less airy. It’s a dense, syrupy vanilla with a strong amberwood base. Vanilla Vice is definitely less sweet and a bit airier. I happen to like both, but prefer Vanilla Ice Cream by the Dua Brand.

I’ve had this bottle for a few months now, but I’m still not sure if my nose can handle that sharp, metallic vanilla‐ice‐cream note - possibly from Orcanox and Amberwood notes? It gives me a similar experience to Khadlaj’s Caffe Latte, where every sniff hits me with that same piercing, synthetic edge. Still, I’m determined to keep trying with both of them. I’ve never truly hated any fragrance I’ve tested because I believe in training my nose, to get familiar with the unfamiliar, to understand the notes that feel “unaccepted” at first. A quick two‐second sniff can be so misleading, yet it’s often the reason for that frustrating “catch and release” cycle I see with so many fragrance buyers. It’s something I’ve never really understood. To me, the journey is the point: challenging my senses, revisiting tough notes and learning to appreciate complexity over instant gratification. I only recently realised that this is a dupe of Snif Vanilla Vice, one that I’ve always been curious to try thanks to all the hyped-up social media promos. Honestly, I’m more than happy settling for the Dua version, especially considering how expensive it is to get the original Snif shipped to Australia.
