Zest

First impressions: opening is a bit harsh but after 5 minutes or so, that 'cleaner' smell relaxes into a beautiful, addictive fragrance. I had no problem with my hand, but this does seem to slightly burn on my neck. I know this is one of the frequent complaints with Dua but to be fair, this also happened with my Uden and DHI recently. I hadn't used either in months. The burn only lasted for about 5-7 minutes, same with this. This smells so good! It's creeping on me. I'm a fairly upbeat, optimistic person so I feel like it suits my personality well. The patchouli really brings this together (and I LOVE patchouli) and the mint gives it a nice lift. Oh man! In the air this stuff is magical. I can't believe Dua only sells this in 30ml...I need 100ml right now. It's a citrus scent with substance...the best of both worlds! The drydown is good enough to forgo mourning the citrus. I can't speak to how it compares to Ultra Zest but the drydown reminds me of Pure Malt so its believable that its close. Great performance, I get about 6+ hours. I'm constantly getting whiffs which is exactly what I want out of my fragrances. This can be worn anytime...I get why people say citruses are better in warmer weather but this fragrance is full-bodied and on the stronger side. Versatile as well, so it can be worn any occasion. I can't see anyone being offended by this. Signature scent worthy to me. Shame on Dua for not having bigger bottles but 2-3 sprays is enough to carry you through the day. The other 'gripe' is that I really like Mugler's bottles and Dua's are so cheap! Of course, it's the juice that truly matters. 9/10

Dua's Zest is amazing. I cannot comment how 100% it is to Ultra Zest as I never smell Ultra Zest but I can say Dua's Zest smells a lot like fragrances that are Ultra Zest like. Two Ultra Zest like fragrances I own and got my hands on are Vince Camuton Solare and Zara Vibrant Leather Ecalat de Bergamot. They both are orange creme style fragrances. This however has more depth. Dua Zest kicks back with a mix of tangerine and blood orange. You do get cinnamon with pepper and ginger in the mid. In the base is vanilla with some coffee with some less tonka. This is unlike anything I've smelt. Likely because Ultra Zest was so original. Performance is pretty good. I get 7 hours with pretty good projection to boot. The use is spring, summer and fall for days but also spring and summer nights. I say get your hands on Dua's Zest. I give it a 8.2 out of 10.

A very accurate clone of Ultra Zest. It's not worthy to pay the crazy amounts asked for the discontinued Mugler. This has better performances than Ultra Zest, at least to my nose and from what I recall. The only major difference I find is that the opening is more punchy than the Ultra Zest, it smells either more powerful or synthetic, but it's also a bit more citrusy, you can really feel the juicy mandarine and the blood orange. Ultra Zest begins more mellow and sweeter. The mid and drydown are really similar. This is a really good clone and for a fair price, even if the size of the bottle should be bigger.

ZEST which is an "inspired by" fragrance of Thierry Mugler's discontinued Ultrazest opens with a beautiful burst of Blood Orange/Tangerine then slowly mellows down into a Cinnamon, Coffee and Vanilla dry down with a hint of Patchouli. As with most citrus fragrances the opening is a bit aggressive but subsides after about 10 minutes. It is a Beast of a scent, one spray and you're good for several hours. I would recommend this for Spring and Summer or any season above 65 degrees.

people say its zest, i think its the best

Initial thoughts: I didn't smell it much on first spray but once it set I got the nice orange smell which is really nice. Candied orange much more tangerine which was what I was looking for. I am wearing it to work and I will check back in tomorrow for final thoughts. I do already feel like would do well layer with something with some spicyness but as it's drying down I am smelling something that I think might have solved that problem. After a full day of wear: Today was one of the most memorable days of my life and it will forever be linked to Dua Zest. Putting that aside, I will never get the original ultra zest so I do not know how this compares. What I can say is that I think this could have done with a little more spiciness on the top. I think dua also recognize this and use zest with a lot of their hybrids. I will let this mature for a while and re apply for a final thoughts. Right now we are looking at a solid 8.5 with the solid opportunity to grow with some settling. The orange does last the duration of the whole wear though which was about 8 hours in an office setting. This has the potential to become my signature scent as it fits my vibe very nicely and I live in Florida so it is always encourage to smell like an orange. PS. I think dua should use the dna to experiment more with fruits if they haven't already

This was my first dua brand purchase and having the original ultrazest to compare. They did a great job replicating the unique orange vanilla patchouli combo that is the fragrance however the comments saying about how it smells like a bit of cleaning product almost nail salon for me is there but disappears after the first hour or so. In the drydown it is where I have to give this at least a 9.5-10 on scent and longevity but in the projection it is not much. Maybe with time maceration which usually does work with dupes it could become much stronger and longer lasting. Lasted for me through a whole night shift but I sprayed a good amount to test it. 9/10 Dua brand does an amazing job with their ultrazest clone.

Got a bottle of this by accident. It smells zesty for sure. I haven't smelled mugler ultra zest but this definitely has the mugler DNA. Smells nice and warm spicy. Not sure if it's a good idea to wear it on a hot summer day. Longevity and silage are above average. Very unisex IMO. I think it would smell beautiful on younger ladies. It is a good value for money if you like a zesty a*men. Also, a good year around and office safe fragrance if used in moderation.

Having Ultrazest to compare. Once this gets right with a little maceration, this became very accurate from initial spray to drydown. Good replacement for a discontinued masterpiece. I wore ultrazest all through college and was hoping to find something close and this would be it, just price and bottle size is subpar. Patchouli Cream Orange 8/10

I don’t know if it’s just me but this smells like a cleaning supply room for about the first 2 hours. After that it smells the same but less cleaning supply-e. Imagine 65% fabuloso mixed with 30% orange juice added with 5% vanilla Ridiculous projection for the first 3 hours and longevity is about 7 hours

The orange notes are super nice in this, they walk out with the ginger+vanilla+cinnamon+coffee, but the citrus really dominates the spice. The orange is the most noticeable note, patchouli and mint are also detectable.

I really like it, I just wish it had better performance. Oil perfumery has a oil roll on version of Ultra zest and it smells just like this. 8/10 Very pleasant but medium performance, might just be the batch I got idk

#1404 in my "Tour de Fragrance" After the disappointment of Dua's lackluster "Pure Havane" dupe, "When in Havana", this dupe of Mugler "Ultra Zest" was a nice comeback. Admittedly Ultra Zest was kind of an acquired taste for me, and I think I still have a few sprays left. Haven't reviewed it since it was disconitnued before I joined Fragrantica. At first I really wasn't sure how I felt about Ultra Zest, but decided it wasn't my jam. Probably because the blood orange was so dominant. I'm a two hour drive from the ocean and I don't hang out at the pool, and I couldn't imagine wearing it anywhere else. So really haven't worn it all that much since two or three summer past. And it kind of reminded me of 4711's "Blood Orange and Basil" which I tossed because the quality was so watery and I was clearly never going to wear it. Getting this dupe was more a matter of curiosity to see if Dua could pull it off than looking for something I'd actually wear. But I know a guy who goes in for scents like this and I'll give it to him, so not completely wasted money. This is not a scent that will offend anyone in any space and it's solid quality. I just think it's kind of an odd scent that's not for anyone that doesn't want to smell like they peeled a blood orange for eight hours.

Fragrance Journal Entry #136 So i never got the chance to try Mugler Ultrazest but i heard this was as close as you can get so i picked it up. I was very dissapointed because i went into this thinking "orange creamsicle" and instead what i got was orange pledge or some other equivelant cleaning product. Very harshly synthetic orange note in the opening, as it dries it gets a little better and becomes more of an orange soda type of smell. I think the A Men patchouli in this just does not work so i will be getting rid of this one, if you like "orange soda" type of smells then get Paris Corner Indomitable it's much smoother. Rating: 4.6/10 Blind Buy Safe? NO

So far this is my only Dua purchase that I strongly dislike. I think I have over 30 of their scents but this one smells like someone sprayed air freshener in an airport bathroom. An airport bc its heavily used, like someone’s actively peeing and the automatic air freshener just poofed into the air. Honestly, yuck.

This is a pretty solid clone of Ultra Zest. The opening is almost 100% similar but sharper. After that for an hour or so, it really rides a fine line between cologne and cleaning product. After this, the familiar Mugler DNA reveals itself and smells about 80% similar to the original Ultra Zest. The idea is there, but I could tell a difference between the two. Also, slightly headache inducing, with only one spray on my shirt.
