Abduction

This may be my favorite scent in the entire world. Out of all the smells I have smelled, this one is my favorite. One whiff and I'm in the backseat of my grandmother's teal Ford Escort, asking if I can have an Altoid and finding the can only full of warm pennies as she grins at her little deception. Once it starts to fade, the scent tickles my throat, reminding me of sick days as a child, and my grandmother's remedy: store brand Dr. Pepper. It's like hairspray and chapstick and heat and cars and something in it reminds me of the smell of a hotel room someone smoked in, weeks ago. The frankly bizarre sweet note is a huge draw. I don't have a nose for this stuff, couldn't tell you what that sweetness is, but it's the main note i get, and I can't get enough. Honestly, this smell does evoke alien abduction, I'll give them that. If I push aside the olfactorily awakened memories, I can smell myself on a dirt road, looking up to the blinding light in the sky. I can smell the metal and alien antiseptic of the ship. I can smell the hazy memory loss of being deposited back on the ground. Let this perfume take you on a journey. Who knows what you will find?

Dear reader, I’ve kept this tiny bottle hidden for 3.5 years, my signature scent, held hostage out of fear it’d attract too much attention. I’ve finally let it go (well, not really). To me, this “horrifying” fragrance is irresistibly cute: synthetic yet nostalgic, sweet, sterile, earthy, wet floral, sunny, musky, salty, green marine (almost sea weed-like, probably the floralozone), and perfectly balanced. It smells like humanity and nature in a bottle. It reminds me of an olive-green grass-field under morning sun, cold and crisp air in my lungs, accompanied by the scent of the woods near the forest, and the feeling of lying down on my back, unworried about my freshly clean, SPF HUNGRY, DRY AND SENSITIVE skin out of shower in the summer. It reminds me of home. I got greedy & barely used it. Only bunch of sprays used so far. It’s addictive, mysterious, and still unmatched in the world of clean green/ marine atmospheric scents. Timeless, unisex, with great longevity and sillage. Edit: Random, but it also reminds me of the podcast "Welcome to Night Vale".

absolutely gut wrenching, never smelled such a thing, truly a fragrance of legends. makes you feel like you are in a different planet where your sense of smell is wrong, hence the name "abduction". this is one of the most unwearable yet artistic perfumes I have ever bought, I can't think of a possible occasion where I can wear this, but it is not made for an occasion, it is made for a surprise, a traumatic experience only a few experienced if they have experienced it at all, an alien abduction.

I am not gonna lie, this fragrance makes you cringe a bit. When I first smelled this, I thought it could pass as an average cologne for an older guy, shortly after the dry down, this thing smell OTHERWORLDLY. It’s just unusual and it begins to make you feel sick but I appreciate the art behind it all, after all that is the point right? Yes :)

Definitely a very strange and complex scent. It’s somehow cold and spicy at the same time, and almost reminds me of men’s shaving cream or aftershave. Not unpleasant at all at first, but as it dries and fades, the faint whiffs are definitely almost anxiety-inducing. I’m a huge fan of weird scents so this will definitely be a classic for me.

This is a floral perfume with a soil note like a field of flowers. It is not bizarre, otherworldly or metallic at all. I usually hate floral perfumes, but the earthy and airy notes balances it out nicely. Close to that slightly nostalgic scent of spring, when winds pick up and there's petals blowing in your face.

Great quality fragrance. it is soft earthy and spicy metallic. Something reminds a birch leaves in boiling water or some herbal-green tea, like a birch brush from a sauna. Well-balanced and nice for evening winter/fall. The metallic note slightly reminds Hermes H24, but more earthy and spicier.

This is one of my absolute favorite fragrances right now. It's surprisingly green and earthy for something meant to be extraterrestrial. My friend described it as cold in the same way something like Vaporub is, but without the menthol. I didn't expect it to be so wearable but I love it.

Incredibly complex and transformative. When you link the otherworldly aspect to this, it creates a paradigm shifting your perspective on these intimate and striking encounters. Truly artistic and wonderful, I can’t rate it highly enough. Must be experienced.

I wear this perfume all the time. I love her! I get so many compliments, and the longevity is great. Although I have to be careful to only wear it in good days, other wise it gives me intense anxiety. Worth it! This is definitely a winter perfume

If this is what abduction smells like beam me the fuck up. Definitely not a blind buy and certainly weird and unique but in a good way if you're into that sort of thing. The Fourth Kind in fragrance form.

my favorite :) it smells sweet, kind of grassy, and very earthy. my first thought when i put it on was a sweet, grassy cigarette everyone who has smelt it has liked it, I recommend it

I was so close to blind-buying a full bottle for the premise alone! I've always been obsessed with alien abduction stories, and when I discovered this fragrance I was immediately sold. I chose to opt for a sample instead, which was probably the right call, although who knows-- maybe I'll get good use out of it anyway. It's not an unwearable scent, despite its odd premise. Abduction opens with a melon-watery transparency I associate with calone-heavy aquatics, overlaid on a base of gently spiced dirt. The metals come in gently, to the point where for several minutes you're not entirely sure that you're actually getting any until you go in for a whiff and get a face full of cold steel. It's definitely clean, almost sterile steel, too, not dirty, blood-like copper or rusty iron. I don't find it particularly unsettling or otherworldly. I think this is a cool, unique scent that provides an interesting experience with a fun premise. It isn't the most conventional scent, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find somebody deeply offended by it. Unless they're an abductee, of course.

Once again, I think folks are carried away by marketing instead of just smelling what their nose detects. I get nothing otherworldly or spicy or frankly even particularly woody from this fragrance. Abduction smells like a warm, fresh field. It is lush with grasses and flowers, and perhaps freshly tilled soil, warmed under a bright sky. Only if soil implies metal could this read as metallic. There is an animalic note here that reads to me like manure, which I do not mean to be a mark against it. In fact it's very interesting and rounds out the impression of standing in a field. I have worn this several times and found this impression to be consistent. I have asked others to smell it on me (without telling them what it was) who have given similar descriptions to my nose, saying that it smells fresh and spring-like, with a soil note. It's unusual but not so out-there as to be offensive. I can't speak to whether this smells like an abduction, but it is unique and fresh and interesting.

I love the concept. It's something i keep bringing my wrist to my nose to smell, although i don't particularly LIKE it at all? I wish i could read the creative notes and ideas the perfumers had for this. It almost smells like an average men's cologne but then suddenly it doesn't, and that's the moment that makes this worth it.

I am a big fan of Abduction, it's a very interesting mix of green, spicy, and woody, and has an odd cold scent to it which feels like sterile and fresh in the best way possible. It's pretty strong so I only put on a little and it lasts all day which I enjoy. If this is what a UFO smells like then I may join the X-files!

To me, this is more or less a classic aromatic fougere with a unique 'green' twist in the opening. I don't recall having ever been abducted by aliens, so cannot attest to the verisimilitude as of now, but I will report back at the appointed time.

this fragrance has a lovely opening for about 30 seconds. it smells warm and woody and metallic and interesting yet somehow cold but quickly dries into musty cloves and cheap cologne. the musty cloves fade and all that is left is very cheap (offensive) cologne. there is nothing earthy about this fragrance. it is not for me but i must respect the concept.

bought a sample last year and it was so deeply cherished electric sparks, hot wiring, burning cinnamon. almost like you’re in control of the UFO’s control board. the tv screen scene in poltergeist bottled up for our pleasure. i will buy a bottle of this just for the reactions it evoked - i don’t think i met one person opposed. most agreed it smelled like an alien invasion by the way.
