smells like very delicious vanilla ice cream, but not too sweet, i realy love it, just wish this brand can make a bottle more beautiful. I got this discovery set at Esxence, unfortunately, in the box 6 bottles, 4 of them got revealed when I came back home. 2 bottles were totally empty, 2 bottles only a little left, and onlly 2 bottles were fine. So I really doubt the quality of this brand cuz I dont see good details of the discovery box. But I really like the whole collection of this brand.

I get a mix of Passionfruit, rosemary, vanilla and a intriguing touch of herbal scent I guess is the Absinthe. I enjoy this one better on my husband!. This fragrances definely worth every penny!

Received a decant of this at FragranceXPlore and tried it blind. In full disclosure, I am not much of a gourmand guy. It's not that I don't like them, but they all seem to smell like BR540 or Angel's Share, and I will probably reach for a gourmand once or twice a month in the cooler months only. This one was a nice surprise, though. While it is quite sweet, it is not fully linear. It opens to my nose with a sweet fruit accord, a touch of mint that cools the skin and sinuses, a nice dose of photorealistic artemesia (from which absinthe is derived) and musk. Over the next hour, the french vanilla accord steps forward, along with a candy apple that I associate with neroli/orange blossom. You wouldn't notice it on casual observation, but there are subtle hints below the surface of herbals - very hard to pinpoint due to the sweetness. At about 3 hours, I checked the listed notes to help identify the herbals. Thai basil (which is more aromatic and minty/licoricy than regular basil) makes sense in combination with the artemesia, less so the supposed rosemary. I would bet a dollar that this contains many elements that are not listed, especially mint, neroli and musk. This is truly unisex while not being feminine thanks to a lack of any florals. Performance is quite good, with projection for the first 90 minutes and wafts off of my chest and undershirt for 8 hours. By the 4 - 5 hour mark, this is predominantly a rounded vanilla scent supported by a pleasant but vague fruit/neroli accord, with the artemesia, thai basil and musk keeping it more interesting that your run-of-the-mill vanillas like Mercedes Club Black or Lolita Lempicka Green Lover. A very solid gourmand that smells different from most of its kind. This all begs a few questions, though. First, while this isn't like BR540 or Angel's Share, it would be worn in the same circumstances, and those around you probably wouldn't notice anything other than it smells sweet and nice. Second, given the primary and quite inexpensive elements of vanilla and neroli, can someone really justify paying over $200 for a bottle of this. If you are a lover of gourmands, and are okay with these two points, you should definitely get a decant of this and try it for yourself. For me, my bottle of Khamrah and a few niche gourmand decants should last me a lifetime.

It’s a pleasant sweet scent. It really does resemble an ice cream, but not overly sweet one. It’s close to skin and I almost can’t smell it after 3 hours. I’d say it doesn’t worth the price unfortunately.

I do like this. I wish it had more ice cream in it. It is sweet, yes but the other notes are more prominent. Very nice. Went through a decant from MaxAroma but I’m not sure I’ll get a full bottle.

First blast and you smell nothing but sweetness. It's really very sweet, but not in that headaching way. It reminds me of sugar and vanilla ice cream with frangipani on top (it gives the smell a creamy note). I definitely get hints of absinthe or anise, a little bit of passionfruit in the drydown, but any other notes like basil, cassis, sorbet - where did they go? I guess they got lost in that sugary sweetness. I would recommend this fragrance for gourmand lovers. It's nothing special, I guess (I have also Precious moment from this brand, which, in my opinion, is one of the best gourmand fragrances).

EDIT TO UPDATE: (10/28/23) I returned this bottle. It is terrible. Very weak and smells nothing like ice cream or sherbet. It doesn't smell gourmand at all - but it also doesn't smell like much at all. "I'm not upset - I'm just disappointed" ORIGINAL POST: I just received my bottle and maybe it needs to settle some - but I am not getting what others are getting from this. Quite disappointed. There is no blast of sweetness. It smells quite dull and not tropical. This smells very cheap and I paid over $200 for it. No sherbet or ice cream and it isn't coming off as fruity at all. I can smell some of the herbs, but they are not pungent at all, they're kind of light and smoothly blended. I expected way more. I do love Grand Soir and Mirabile. And I also love Sintra. I see no similarities between any of these. This does vaguely smell like a baked good, flour-y & biscuit-y with a slight sweetness (like a pinch of sugar thrown in the dough). I will give this a few more tries and let it settle some. Does this need to macerate? These notes look phenomenal and the reviews look great too! What am I missing!??

Inside out is a pleasant scent suitable for mild weather, spring/fall and cool summer evenings. This is a very common smell for me. It feels totally feminine scent, sweet, almost edible with above the average performance. It's all about vanilla ice cream scented with strong frangipani flower and passionfruit. Very simple composition, very pleasant and feminine imo.

I'd avoid this house. I blindly bought a fragrance after watching a YouTube review, likely done for marketing. I mistakenly bought the wrong one and found out their customer service is terrible. Beware. The following is my email exchange: Dear Gate Fragrances, I am being charged $15 for shipping on my refund which I don't think is fair. When I first made the order, it was made by mistake, mistaking one fragrance for the another. You have no phone contact so I immediatley sent an email WITHIN MINUTES to cancel. I followed up with two more later on to ensure it was received. Finally, after about a day, I was emailed that it was too late and the order was being shipped but I could return it when received. Fair enough, and although not happy to pay foir my mistake with a shipping charge sending it back, I understood your policy. You were nice to add a free sample in case I changed my mind. It didn't, so I paid the $13.95 postage to have it sent back to you for a refund. So now, based on latest email, I am totally surprised and upset that I have to pay your shipping charge to me, which is shipped free when ordered so how you came up with $15 is a mystery, as well as a shipping charge to mail it back? I don't think that's fair and not right. I request my full refund of $180, which is due to me. I don't understand why it was shipped in the first place. If this stands, I will let others know via social media, Fragrantica and comments on reviews of your like of perfumes on You Tube (which is where I discovered your perfumes) regarding your customer service. Please helps, I hope you understand, from my persepctive, the customer, how I feel. I would like to purchase Memories in the future but if this stands I will look elsewhere. Thank you,

I have the old bottle & I want to try the new one. Lovely skittles freeze dried and mixed into a skittles flavored sorbet mixed with vanilla icecream. Fresh fruits and shaved starburst candies on top. This is pink + yellow starburst liqour flambe with vanilla ice box cake. 💗 Give this time on wear at first its very green. If you overspray it will be a super sweet salad. Spray 3 times max around the waist & knees. I actually wish it had a little more citrus because when the gourmand sweet ice cream and sorbet kicks in it's VERY indulgent.

I got a sample as curly scents said it smells like baked goods. Not really, it smells very green. Also all the notes are green which is what I was confused about watching her reviews. Note to self: sometimes you can't trust youtubers. This is waaaaaayyyyyy heavier on the green, it smells fresh, frangipani, soft, warm and musky. Not like a vanilla ice cream or baked goods though. So I will not purchase a full bottle. But Gritti by Duchessa reviewed by Demi Rawling on youtube is a HIT.

Wxmath: I checked out The Gate via its own website and they DO have a phone number listed in the Contact Us section, albeit it's an international phone number, so I assume customer service could be reached that way. I am sorry for all the mishaps you've suffered in ordering the wrong item, but you should be careful in accusing a company of having poor customer service by not having a phone number listed for contact purposes when one clearly IS listed.
