Royal Earth Eau de Parfum

It's not often that I agree with the brand description or marketing of a scent, but Royal Earth is dead-on in its regal yet earthy connotations: sophisticated, dignified, and a touch mysterious. It's a iris-forward scent, powdery and refined. The carrot seed adds a bit of a fresh, vegetal bite. The sandalwood is high-quality. This is a discreetly luxurious scent; it doesn't draw attention to itself, but it's quietly beautiful. This doesn't mean that it doesn't last or project - it does both - but tastefully and not at all aggressively. It insinuates rather than announces itself, which I love. It reminds me of Commodity's Orris, which also pairs iris/orris and carrot seeds. Orris is beautifully wholesome and unpretentious; Royal Earth is a little duskier and sexier. Both are favorites of mine, but Harmonist's version is really something special.

This is my favorite and go to fragrance! It is very iris powdery and no one who is offended by perfumes notices I am wearing it. Very close to the body with long lasting, I can smell it for a full 2 days and nights before it is completely gone. Compared to the Parfum, I think this one is more woody and neutral. The parfum also eats at the skin a little bit if you have any issues with tropical fruit due to latex allergies. I also tried to compare it to Tears of Iris EDP by Gucci and it is a lot more balanced in the powdery earthy sense and doesn't cause nose fatigue nearly as much. The Tears of Iris is also more like your old fashion and strong almost pure aldehyde iris perfume.

Opening is very earthy on my skin, but not in a dirty or dusty way. I get the iris, vetiver, and immortelle from the jump, and it smells like a a good quality orris was used here. After about 20 minutes, it transitions into a musky creamy amber, with just the right amount of sweetness. I notice the transition takes longer on my clothing than on my bare skin, probably due to body heat. Overall a very enjoyable fragrance that I think I could use in just about any situation. Strong like, with superb blending, and good performance so far, which are indicative of Harmonist perfumerey IMO. -------------------------------------------------------- Scent 8/10 Performance TBD

A study of iris - especially the root and the surrounding earth. If anyone asks for an example of a "cold and austere" iris - I would point them here. Royal Earth lacks the sweetness I have found in most other iris scents. This can read dusty on the wrong day. Worth seeking out if you are an iris fan, or if you are looking for a solid reference. I personally get around 4-6 hours of wear.

I wasn't impressed when I initially tested it during the day in warm weather, but I quickly changed my mind when I tested it during a cooler evening. Wow 🤩 it turned out to be stunning! Light, classy, a bit mysterious and sophisticated! Perfect balance of iris, powderiness and earthiness. Unisex. I can't get enough of it! It goes to the top of my list of autumn "going out" fragrances.

I received a sample of this fragrance in a Barney beauty bag, and I immediately loved it. On me, it is powdery, slightly spicy and warm. I thought it would be a perfect daytime scent because it is soft. I was planning to buy a bottle, the refill actually, but it lasts less than 30 minutes on me and has no presence whatsoever. So disappointing!

A gorgeous, sophisticated incredibly soft fragrance. Lays close to my skin and stays for an entire evening. The dry down is a powdery, woody scent that is reminiscent of the softness of baby powder, yet incredibly layered and nuanced with a slight floral sharpness. Neither youthful nor older — its sophisticated.

The lipsticky iris in this fragrance is really exquisitely crafted. Really next level compared to any other iris fragrance going for that vibe. 10/10.

A journey from dried iris pressed between sheets of paper crumbling with age to a creamy vanillic iris. Love this!

I wore a sample of this to work once and I really enjoyed it. It was an active day at work, unloading inventory, so I was a little sweaty but this perfume kept me smelling fresh and pretty. I was pleasantly surprised. At first smell, I thought I smelled ink?? But as it dried down I got more of the floral notes. It's not an old lady floral perfume though. Idk its very interesting and definitely growing on me. I'd definitely recommend getting a sample and spending a day in it if you're intrigued.

I’m a sucker for carrot seeds with Iris and this is a lovely composition. But it is absolutely nothing new or special. I don’t particularly detect passionfruit, but there is the slightest hint of fruit in the opening but not enough to distinguish this. For this price there are so many other stunning iris frags out there. Having said that this is still beautifully done and high quality, a worthy try if budget and tastes align.

- Lipstick vibes! nfbw for me now. This fragrance is one of the less complex compositions from the house but it's beautiful anyway. I smell a bright, crisp bergamot and the waxy iris immediately. It's actually quite beautiful. EDIT sampling again 2025: It's ok ... It is a powder bomb. It is sour rather than crisp. Earthy. Still lovely. The comment above is chef's kiss*

Powdery, soft and elegant. This is usually a recipe for something I hate. But I really don’t mind this one very much. In fact, I imagine it to be wonderful on somebody else. It’s incredibly sophisticated and understated. But still gives off an air of confidence. I imagine this on someone who knows who they are, and does not feel like they need to prove it to anybody.

I really enjoyed this perfume. It's clean, musky and floral at the same time. It's overwhelmingly powdery and very elegant. It's perfect for every day too. The iris opens up wonderfully and adds hints of sexiness.

Feminine leaning, medicinal, flowery powder and sweet musk. Pleasant enough. Falls short of being anything special.

I'm testing the Harmonist discovery set blind. I haven't looked up anything about them: names, notes, etc. Did the white ones already, this is the third black one. The initial opening was reminiscent of wet fresh plant leaves, maybe fresh mint, not chemically minty. Second time the opening had more of a gin and bergamot sense to it. There's a soft wood undertone, reserved but present. Overall it's lighter greens and soft woods, with a dry powdery air to it. Quite pleasant but not particularly strong in sillage. After drying down a more talcum powder and floral side has developed. It was basically a skin scent the whole time. Looking at the name and notes now all makes sense but the name. I'm not sure if earthy is the best title for essentially a powdery scent, and given how intimate it is, doesn't seem very royal. Moon Glory could carry the name Royal Earth just as easily, if not more so. In other words don't expect a big royal earthy fragrance. Because the powderyness reminds me of make-up products I find it leans feminine, but be your own judge. It's a nice scent if you want a long lasting powdery skin scent. Maybe call it Whispering Petals. IDK.

Baby powder bomb, strong performance. Not for me. The juice does not fit with the name, or the black bottle at all. I expected something earthy and unique with more depth of character. Something dark with patchouli or vetiver would be better suited to the name, in my opinion.

This smells very much like a clean Pampers diaper for about 1.5 hours. It seems to change to a very fresh scent that I think I love. I don’t know if it’s worth enduring the harsh opening but I will keep using my sample.

I have a collection of nice iris fragrances and Royal Earth is right up there with Hermes, Le Labo, and the Les Heures de Cartier collection. I do enjoy a nice dry iris and here it is somewhat papery, but it's also very soft and easy to wear. Iris tends to run mature and serious in comparison to other floral notes. There is nothing frilly or fun about wearing a good quality iris scent and Royal Earth is no exception. This is powdery, polished and formal smelling. This is a dressed up, or going to a formal event kind of scent. This is quiet and not meant to be in your face which is exactly how an iris fragrance should behave. Nothing loud or over distinctive here, but again the quality is very very good. All in all, not a totally original fragrance, but a worthy addition to fans of this genre.

This is more green, slightly powdery and woody to me. It’s also still fresh, not sharp, from the neroli making it appropriate for hotter weather. Earthy without smelling dirty or dense. The Angelica makes the greenness smell more like a root tea to me. I do get a underlying lipstick note when it dries down but it is not prominent at all to me, the creaminess of the sandalwood helps with that and also with smoothing out the carrot seeds. Maybe if I layer with something sweet the lipstick note will come out more but it’s not something I need in this fragrance. I have a lot of sweet fragrances so this is another nice addition when I need a break with an uncomplicated, clean, fresh, lingering, atypical scent.

I have worn this a few times now. I absolutely love it. I have recently discovered & fallen in love with Iris scents. This one opens up a bit cool. I get an almost petrichor vibe in the beginning (similar to petrichor by Marissa Zappas). I love the opening very earthy, wet, & the smell of damp air. As it begins to dry down I get more of the powdery feel from the iris & the warmth of the sandalwood/tonka. The vetiver continues to give it that earthy scent I love. To me it’s a mix of petrichor & poudre d’or by Mizensir. Both of which I love. So, this is beautiful to my nose. I have two decants & will most likely get a full bottle at some point. I can see this being a staple in my fragrance wardrobe.

Overwhelming powdery is an understatement here. I bought the best seller & discovery sets and wanted to try them all. One spray of the parfum (not EDP) was nice on first spray on a card. When I put it on me, after bout 20 minutes dated powder is all I could smell. I do not do powder fragrances. This truly is one, it's not musky, it's powder. I personally cannot wear this without feeling ill. But I will say that one spray on my blouse was really powerful in terms of bubble and longevity. For something so soft and light, the power was surprising. If you like powders, give this a try!

I really liked it first on, but when I put on more, it became pure rooty orris with hints of green stem and faintly spiky wood with something sour in back. Mostly though, it is plain, rooty, starchy orris root on me with not enough other stuff to make it more than the Orris Concrete I have in my mix box. Full dry down is more perfumed and pleasant with some of the floral making headway at the end, but the wait is long. I do like Orris root, but this is more pure than I enjoy. I want a little more action in my scent.

Very virginal! Wear it to work, it shouldn’t offend anybody. However, it could attract someone who’s attracted to your personality and becomes enthralled and fascinated or obsessed; that person who no matter how many times you are together is willing to wait for your virginity to reappear. It’s a reoccurring ritual and they expect a pristine altar every time they come to worship. I love it!

I get a nice creamy, slightly woody iris with a waxy lipstick opening that goes away. As it dries it start to take on a fresh linen scent that's been washed with the world's most expensive iris powder fabric softener and laid out in the sun to dry. Soft, clean, musky, almost ethereal. I’m getting a lot of sillage from one spray. It's a subtle, classy, clean scent.

this is a gorgeous clean musky iris, perfection reminds me a better version of la pausa by Chanel, it is NOT similar to lattesa which has leather inside. it has some similarities but more creamier than Apollonia by Xerjoff. it is just perfection. Do not buy the parfum version, the EDP is the best one without the vanilla, It is not basic! gorgeous!

rooty, dried dirt/soil, powdery, metallic, clean, a little soapy, aldehydic, fresh laundry, lightly sweet at times i get a cross between cosmetic powder & a clean unisex musk i'd say this is a pretty safe, simple, easy to wear fragrance 5-6 sprays, medium projection, lasts several hours

The opening is all iris with a clay note. All the other notes blend into a generic whole. But, as it comes into it's own, it's mainly just something generic and powdery. I like iris and powder, but this is nothing special, sadly enough.

This is an earthy, slightly bitter, stemmy iris; a powdery, clean-earthen clay iris. If you like clay, irises, and non-sweet scents, this will please you. It's unusual but not unwearable. I like unusual scents.

This is a very nice fragrance. The iris, neroli and sandalwood blend perfectly. It lasts around 4-6 hours on me. Not overpowering to those around you. Very versatile. Great for office, leisure or nights out.

Why the hell would you name this royal earth when it smells like a powder bomb. Not a bad frag tho. Simply something I could never wear. If u like a shit ton of powder and light florals, go for it.

The opening of this is soooooo similar to YSL'S Trench. Citrus, Iris and Ambrette or carrot seed. Powdery.

Somehow, nobody, else, gets a similar vibe to, YSL's Trench, at the opening... citrus, powder and Iris
