Sun Force

The Harmonist is a brand with very good fragrances, and even a level beyond when it comes to being artistic and unique. I have tried all of their fragrances up to this point and can confidently say there are only 2-3* that I consider full bottle worthy to my taste: 1. Hypnotizing Fire Parfum 2. Sun Force 3. Oud Nebula (which would probably get very few wearings)/Velvet Fire Sun Force was a love at first sniff, because I had just recently discovered Bleu Electrique by YSL. I honestly pick up a level of similarity between the two but completely not redundant fragrances. This one has an elevated/obvious creamy, resinous, soft rose appeal blended into that LNDLH DNA with the aromatic cardamom. Too much of Sun Force ca actually smell weird up close, given it's more of a "discover me" type of fragrance rather than a "HERE I AM" approach. Smells different, to me, when put under heat. Can be even worn as a signature being mindful of the sprays especially during summer - it does adapt differently to temperature input. The only problem in doing so is the honey note (gladly nothing like gold old Tobacolor's) that can slip in the summer along with the heavier base notes but overall very bright/golden smell even. I'd say it lasts good 6-7 hours indoors for me and isn't really I gravitate to wearing during the hotter months, but can be worn. Great introduction to the brand, or honestly niche in general, as it is pretty mass appealing. Projection is thankfully on the softer side and will perfume me for the usual time I need it for. Anyways, this is beautiful! I honestly consider this and Hypno Fire the best BY A LOT, from the brand. Price is rough but it is a rather beautiful package (pres, smell, bottle, profile, etc.)

This is an interesting one for me. There was a time when I was all about projection - and for a fragrance of this price, you should want it to "perform," right? I had to challenge that mindset in myself because if we're being honest, there are times for a scent to fill a room and times to be more modest. Sun Force is the latter - after the initial high projection period of 1-2 hours, it was easily noticeable about 6 inches away, quietly projecting for more than 12 hours. For this reason, I consider the performance a triumph. The scent gives you the impression that you have smelled it before, but upon further investigation, it's difficult to pin down. The prominence of the cardamom is likely the culprit here - immediately I thought of La Nuit De L'Homme. I happened to have a bottle, so I tested them side-by-side. The cardamom note is the only similarity. LNDL also was not detectable after about 5 hours. What set this fragrance apart for me (and ultimately led to me purchasing a full bottle) is that while the scent feels familiar, it also feels different. The drydown is HEAVENLY. Expensive, yes. But it was worth in my opinion.

A new addition to my ever expanding list of fragrances I'd own. Generally speaking The Harmonist wasn't a house that impressed me or piqued my interest, but Sun Force was an instant like and one of the best fragrances from the house in my opinion. In some ways Sun Force comes across to me as a sort of mish mash of several fragrances I also like a lot. I've only tried Bleu Électrique from YSL's LNDL line but I do see the similarities with that fragrance, although the pomelo adds a zingy airiness that greatly reminds me of Kilian's Vodka on the Rocks. Up close on skin this is a soft, creamy woody scent that reminds me a bit of MFK's Amyris Homme. Fresh, bright, versatile, extremely likeable, I'm really considering picking up a bottle of this. Performance is quite decent. Projection initially is strong but sillage is more on the lighter side, which helps with the freshness. I felt this turned into a skin scent pretty quickly but it was unusually hot yesterday so the weather might have played into it. Longevity is great, lasting 8 hours without much of a problem.

At the Temple of Hathor in Per-Wadjet, offerings are left to the Goddess when the sun is strongest in the sky. Altars overflow with pots of honey, fruits, sweet incense and spices. Worshipers dance ecstatically to music played on Sistras and the sheen of their sweat-slicked bodies glows like gold in the sun. It is warm, welcoming, and utterly intoxicating to be this close to the Goddess. Hathor, in her Wadjet form, rises sinuously from the temple dust and turns her enormous cobra-head in your direction, eyes glinting like turquoise chips in the glare. You cannot look away. She is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.

I get sad when i think and smell this fragrance. I say this because its truly a beautyful, i love this combo with the sweet cardamom and the honey wich gives a sexy profile. But then comes the sad part, when you want the other people smell , i understand that getting a fragrance to performe is difficult but with the price that a bottle is this company full of potencial can work this for the better. In my oponion This scent is a : 9/10 Sillage:6/10 Longevity(depends person to person but on my skin): 10/12 Hours

This fragrance is CRAZY expensive, but good lord it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever smelled. The combination of warm and juicy is a combination I haven’t smelled before, and the amber-y, woody notes blend so sexily with the floral notes, spices, and the citrus. It’s incredibly unisex when I wear it — SO androgynous, but I’ve heard from many that it reads more masculine on them.

What can I say except this fragrance flies WAY under the radar. Is it a wallet drop? Yes. Is it the embodiment of the sun's energy in a bottle, though? Also yes. The top floral citrus, middle sweet spices, and bottom musk are all perfectly balanced to bring out the sun whenever it otherwise refuses to shine.

This house is really strange for me.. i have Sun Force and Yin Transformation.. both smells like a designer fragrance at first.. very familiar but i cant remember what.. but the complexity makes it very niche.. i dont know how to describe it but really love this house but not the price..

bright and sparkly honey, cardamom, saffron blast that makes me feel like a goddess. i am an oversprayer, but this just needs a few sprays for great projection. lasts a good amount of time and perfect for a sunny day. the gold bottle really resembles the fragrance well

Very nice perfume, definitely leaning feminine, but some men can pull it off, I don't understand who votes here seeing these "more male" votes lol No.

This is a very "perfumey" perfume: it has the feel of the fragrance counter at Harrods or Saks, a swirl of sundry fragrances mingling in ambient luxury. That smell is inherently pleasing and nostalgic, but it's not exactly distinctive. It's warm, velvety honey, rich in both senses of the word: dense and beautiful, but possessing a somewhat generic "middle-aged wealthy person" feel. I suspect that, for some, that will be its appeal. $350 is a lot, but the refill sells for $220. For those who really love this but can't justify the price, buy the refill, decant it into your own bottle, and save some money and some space on your perfume shelf (the Harmonist bottles are a little too bulky and bulbous for my taste, anyway).

The opening of Sun Force is quite zesty and fresh, reminding me of a slightly better version of an Axe body spray. Thankfully that initial impression fades somewhat as the resinous and spicy notes become more prominent in the dry down. I’d say it’s a well-rounded, warm and invigorating scent, although not terribly unique. And more suited to men, in my opinion. Unfortunately within 2 hours it’s a barely detectable skin scent. Such a contrast to the other fragrance in the Prequel Collection, Moon Glory, which has incredible lasting power. This is worth a try but definitely not a safe blind buy.

Best worn just on the pulse points, I think. I loved it like that, but a few hours later sprayed some on my clothes too, and then I got the strong aftershave-y vibe some mention here. On skin, over the course of the day, it develops into rich warm honey & saffron. I def get the cardamom & resin-y notes too.

Honey-forward, warm and inviting scent. I do smell the rose and the spices but they are not too prominent. I’m considering buying the full bottle but I need to continue trying it on. Right now it’s a like, not a love, so I can’t justify dropping $350 on it.

Definitely smells high end, like a woman who isn't afraid to use her dept store credit cards and has been a snow bird for 15+ yrs. But not an old lady scent, just smells luxurious rich and sunny

This is not an especially unique fragrance. You sample this (like I have) and you’re going to come to some conclusion that this smells like something you have smelt before. But it’s a different level of class; it’s like comparing a burger from a van in a lay-by compared to one from a niche burger restaurant. I would definitely put my hand in my pocket and by this if it was 60bills. But as it’s already available under a different brand and doesn’t really stand out as anything different. I can’t really say if it’s any considerable margin better than the other similar fragrances 6.5/10

Upon initial spray, it gives off a typical men's cologne scent from the 2010s: spicy, warm, and somewhat unremarkable. But once it sits on the skin for a few hours ? You literally smell like a nugget of gold. It becomes incredibly rich, evoking the essence of a sticky bun's top, with deep amber and resin notes. I appreciate this fragrance, but just one facet of the overall experience.

Testing this blind, all I know is the name. In the opening I got an amber and burnt honey or caramel note but with floral notes on top. As it dries down, the toasted sweetness is almost completely gone and the floral tones come out. The floral portion is dry, a little dusty and musky, not powdery. There's an earthiness to it, but more in its overall composition, not a singular note. The woody component is soft and mixes with what I'm assuming is amber or something amber related. Just now looking at the notes, they mostly align with my experience. The mix of benzoin and honey resembles the amber essence, the saffron gives earthiness, and the floral and woods fit right in. What I don't get is the pomelo or much in terms of citrus at all. In the first 10-20 minutes my impression was a nicely blended fragrance, but not fitting its name as much as expected. I did just blind test Moon Glory, so maybe I'm expecting more contrast. It isn't as sunny or as powerful (force) as the name implies. It's a nice amber(ish) floral fragrance with a seductive dryness. While it maintained a moderate sillage for the first hour, it reduced to intimate within two, and slowly dwindled as the day went on. While it lingered for quite some time, it's hard to argue it has a lot of longevity, distancing itself from from the force of the sun. While the first hour or two were pleasant it is difficult to comprehend its price point. Between the two, the moon shines brighter.

basic masculine mass market perfume...flat and sad...not even as good as a very commercial one like YSL l'Homme

The blends of this brand are so masterful and immaculate that it’s damn near impossible to describe their fragrances. If you’re interested in The Harmonist, I’d recommend you to not jump to any conclusions about any of their fragrances based solely off the note breakdown. Again, they're blended so well no note really sticks out, they just come together beautifully like a symphony. The best I can describe Sun Force is a mixture of the warm spicy cardamom note from La Nuit de l’homme on top of the muskiness from Creed Himalaya or The original Curve by Liz Claiborne (IYKYK). Overall, a warm, spicy musk marketed as unisex but very masculine IMO. The rose, honey, or saffron does not stick out at all. I didn’t like this fragrance when I first smelled it, but after a month of maturation it has blossomed and now I absolutely love it. As far as performance, it’s not a beast but it’s not a poor performer by any means. It performs like a gentleman... it last reasonably long (between 5 to 7 hours) and projects somewhere within arms length. It’s not loud or obnoxious or a room filler but can be detected closer to the skin but you don’t have to be intimate. Overall I’d give it a solid 7 out of ten. It won’t be for everyone, but it’s for me!

I think this is more unisex with a spicy rose edge. It's not quite what I look for but I was curious about this line. There is a lot of earthiness and honey. I think the notes are pretty spot on, because I'm getting a lot of woodiness and cardamom, but I think it's blended to the point where nothing is standing out as particularly strident. I think what other people are describing as aftershave is a herbalness that smells a little bit like shaving foam.

Bare with me, as I will be editing this post. A LOT. 10/15/22 12:40am EST .... the first 5 minutes was bright, not citrus bright but bright. After the opening this next 20 minutes, remind me a lot of Black Walnut from Banana Republic, which I love........ side by side, outside of the cardamom, smells nothing like LNDH by YSL

This one is definitely going into my husbands stash. Very sexy, the comparison to LNDL is spot on, plus a little extra sweetness, and a suede undertone. I’m usually not one to differentiate too much between the genders in fragrance but this to me smells like a sexy man lol so take from that what you will!

It doesn't smell like LNDL but it does smell like a YSL fragrance (the original Y) to be exact It's that mixed with some components of Goldfield&Banks Silky woods with the added pomelo note. It's pleasant yes, but not totally in love with it.

One person mentionned here it smells a bit like La Nuit de L'Homme (which it doesn't, I guarantee you) and since then all Instagram Reviewers who got the bottle for free started saying the same in their reviews... LOL

I definitley get the cardamom, honey, and saffron. In a way it gives me men cologne vibes. The rose note is stronger on clothing than on my skin. 7/10 for now will have to revisit later.

it is like biting into a cardamom laden hot cross bun drizzled with honey. Delicious, warm, expensive but also like something/many things I've smelled before, familiar and unoriginal.

Something in the dry down of this is reminding me of the smell of fireworks. I think I like it? Edit: I realized what this is actually reminding me of—the smell of a smoke machine!

elegant, understated, musky-powdery, even kind of gently old-fashioned. very nice indeed. just not my thing.
