Yin Transformation Parfum

Ethereal, uplifting and sublime... what is this sorcery! The notes here are so well blended that I am not even going to try to pick them apart but the scent itself smells like goergeous watery florals, to put it almost too simplistically. Words fail me as I try to describe this fragrance.. picture smelling water nymphs, innocent and alluring at the same time, dancing weightlessly over a shallow lake with crystalline water that lets you see straight to the bottom filled with the most beautiful flowers, filling the air with their delicate scent. I would have passed it over for something deeper and richer, had I gone by the notes however, I am delighted the SA at Neiman's asked me to try this house, I couldn't have asked for better introduction! If you think it smells good just as you have sprayed it, just wait till it blooms on your skin. Yin stands for the feminine in the concept of duality and the word play on the name will make sense only when you experience it. It makes me feel like the classiest, most feminine version of myself when I wear it. To say the breath was knocked out of me (also because of the exorbitant price tag 😅 but hey can you put a price on such a beauty?!) is an understatement! Another surprising aspect of this fragrance is it's performance which is almost shockingly great. It lasts easily for about 10hrs projecting strongly for at least the first 3hrs morphing into an increasingly intimate scent while the enchantingly beautiful sillage keeps going for the entire duration of the fragrance. This can easily become a signature scent and I, for one, can't get enough of this one!

Upon initial spray, this perfume is very clean-it smells expensive and lovely, but it is somewhat generic. However, the longer it sits, the better it gets! Its notes are blended beautifully and really balance one another out. It is not sweet but it has something feminine. It isn't too watery because there are balancing lactonic-lotiony notes. The top bergamot and mandarin don't overpower the top notes with citrus but still give just the perfect kiss of citrus to balance out the rose. I do wish the iris were a bit more prominent but that is because I love iris. The middle notes on me were a highly elevated bar soap, and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. And it lasts! Many perfumes in this category of fresh/soapy and citrusy/watery disappear after only a few hours, whereas with Yin Transformation you will get 8 hours on the skin and on my fabric watch band, I can still smell the perfume well into the day after initial application. Also lasts well on my mom and her clothes too so it isn't just with my skin chemistry. Or at least that was my initial test note. Now I've gone a bit nose blind and I don't personally notice its longevity on me, but my friends do. If you are into "clean girl" perfumes and scents, then this is a must. If you want an inoffensive office perfume, this is a must(lasts a while but sillage is close to the skin.) Also reminds me of MM Replica's Lazy Sunday Morning, not because they smell alike and MM is definitely not a dupe, but maybe the rose soapiness note is shared. The perfumes are distantly related.

This review is for the Parfum version. The watery notes in this are so ethereally beautiful, and make you feel like you are in a spa tub with tons of delicious orchids and rose petals floating gently around you. Perfect for a wedding or a spring day to transport you to a flower garden right after a light rain. The ylang-ylang and bergamot are blended superbly to cut the sweetness, and make you feel ultra feminine. The dry down adds a soft musk (think Narcisco Rodriguez pure musc), and a creamy sandalwood base that adds to the complex elegance of the fragrance. This one was instantly very special to me, and I've been wearing it a lot to the pool- it really comes alive in the heat. Sadly, I find the projection and longevity seriously lacking, but I adore the smell so much I had to buy a FB. I just spray it a lot during the day or pair it with a neutral lotion or molecule + mandarin. I can forgive it's fleeting nature, as part of its uniqueness is that barely-there, she just got out of the shower and smells so good vibe. A must try for people who like floral aquatics.

This is a beautiful perfume! The primary feeling to me is pretty. Extremely femme. Gentle. I'd wear it to a bridal shower or similar. Opens airy, aquatic and gently floral. Extremely pretty and gentle and feminine. Understated. As time goes on, more of the powdery baseline opens up, the florals gather some strength and I get distinct citrus notes -- rather like a mandarin orange, before it is peeled, with the leaves on. The airy aquatic quality remains, but is less prominent. As with most of the Harmonist line, it is beautifully blended and harmonious but still allows the individual notes to shine through. Although the overall scent profile remains consistent outside of the first 20 minutes, the silage highlights different notes throughout, making the experience of wearing non-linear. It is never loud and doesn't project much, but sticks around on my skin for about 6 hours before becoming a pleasant, musky, powdery skin scent. (Note that I get zero almond milk and only softness from the sandalwood on my skin).

And soft flowers. It' fairy like & magical, fragile feminin beauty. This is the scent of a water nymph. A water nymph by a flowery pond with beautiful snowwhite swans on it. By the way i feel something in it whis is feels like freesia beacuse i smell something airy floral. ( i don't know which note is it) but because of it, i see not just the water nymph, the lake/pond with the swans and flowers but the light breeze & cloudy blue sky. This is how i imagined Guerlain l'heure blanche ( what i've never got) but more airy and aldehidyc. But it's just my fantasy .

I was surprised to love this. I generally do not enjoy "white musk" fragrances - I find them dry, flat and boring. The almond milk note is what I enjoy most in Yin. It gives a creamy, lactonic effect without leaving you smelling like actual milk, or a bowl of cereal. The sandalwood + florals keep this from going into gourmand territory, and they leave a clean and sweet trail. There's something spicy that I cannot put my nose on? But I love it. I would describe it as a tickle of pepper. I also thought this was overpriced, and the longevity was poor until i smelled this still going strong on my jacket the next day. It's ethereal; clean, sweet, creamy and floral. This is also an easy non-offensive reach that can be worn during all seasons. It doesn't hurt that it garners compliments from strangers too.

This is such a bright, delicate, feminine scent. She’s pretty! There is no attempt in this scent to be dark and mysterious. It is content with being lighthearted and pleasant. Though they don’t smell alike, Yin Transformation has a similar feeling to Marc Jacobs’ Daisy Dream. Daisy Dream has rounder, softer edges, while Yin Transformation is brighter and feels a bit more grown up and just a hint aquatic, but both are breezy, clean (shampoo-y?), creamy, wearable, mood-enhancing, slightly fruity florals that aren’t spicy or gourmand or sugary or green or in any way overbearing or reminiscent of baby powder or funeral homes. I love them both and they are different enough to have both in my collection, but if you can’t justify the price of Yin Transformation, Daisy Dream works well in its place.

It is creamy, it is dreamy and I feel amazing wearing it since I have a travel size of it. Watery and dewy florals and the same time it is dry, white and powdery. These opposites are balanced out in a sweet harmony. A little bit mainstream at first glance but after wearing it few times I understand the qualities and depths this one has. It is springtime here, perfect for this weather. I love sniffing my skin. I wish I can afford a full bottle some day. EDIT: /one week later/ I am getting compliments on this perfume, more then I have ever received for any other scents of mine. The other day I was on an exhibition opening and one lady followed me in the gallery and then stepped next to me to quietly ask what I was wearing.

A+, 5 stars, 10/10, 100% I've never smelled anything quite like this before and it is one of my all time favorites. It's hard to describe, as it is so well blended that I genuinely can't pick out any particular notes, but I will try. It covers every base in perfumery for me. You know how in Thai cuisine dishes are supposed to have all 5 flavors of sweet, salty, spicy, bitter, sour, and salty? This is that in scent form. There's a woody/musky base, delicate florals, an aquatic touch, a bit of citrus, and a slight creaminess to it. It lasts for hours and hours, projects well, and is so, so unique. The price is kind of ridiculous, but if you can get yourself a sample it's amazing.

Its harmonious blend of notes makes it versatile for various occasions, whether it’s a casual day out, in the boardroom, or out on a date. The fragrance evolves beautifully on the skin, maintaining its complexity and depth throughout its wear. Longevity it great on the Parfum. The scent is well-balanced, never overwhelming, The dry down of Yin Transformation is a delightful blend of powdery and smooth notes. Iris contributes a soft, powdery finish that adds a sophisticated touch. The base is further enriched by the creamy, woody tones of Sandalwood and the clean, subtle muskiness of White Musk. This combination leaves a lingering impression that is both comforting and refined.

The more I smell this the more I love it... this is odd for me because I typically don’t like “freshie” scents. But this is fresh, musky, powdery, sweet (without being overly so), and sensual. To me this smells like when you get out of a hot steamy bath or shower and that clean, steamy, musky, scent is what you get. I think it’s great for everyday too, don’t see it being too in your face or offensive. There’s something really innocent about this scent and I think that innocence is what makes it sexy to me. Great for hot weather, don’t really recommend in cold weather.

I had never tried anything from this brand until I sampled Yin Transformation at a Neiman Marcus. I immediately loved this scent. The opening is fruity floral fresh, and the iris note really came thru which I love for a warm weather scent. I think this scent is very versatile and people of all ages would enjoy this, it smells expensive and fresh. Although the opening is gorgeous, the dry down is what made me absolutely love this fragrance. The notes melt together into the most beautiful rich sandalwood iris musk. Super gorgeous skin scent.

At first sniff you might think this fragrance is something you've smelled before. A little citrusy, a little watery, a little floral. But no, just wait. Your skin will bring this to glorious life. The florals are gorgeously deep and natural, but always kept a shade airy by the sparkling citrus and water notes. Truly sublime. Every fragrance I've smelled from this house has been nothing short of spectacular.

I’m not going to lie I didn’t like this until I let it dry on my skin. Fresh scents don’t usually appeal to me I prefer gourmands however this is beautiful! Effortless, clean, fresh, feminine, unique and sophisticated. This scent literally feels like a breath of fresh air. Calm, aquatic, and airy. Like your enveloped in a cloud beautiful blended, soft and not overpowering. Lovely!

fluffy fluffy fluffy flower note. loved spraying my tester before taking a nap (did not mean to take a nap... this perfume put sleepy time spells on me). can be great before bed and also very great when you wanna feel like you are fresh out of the shower ready to the take on the day. the almond and musk give a soft vibe which is so me and up my alley as a hot humid florida girl.

Beautiful creation by the harmonist, creamy, sensual and very feminine floral scent. It does remind me of nivea hand cream but I adore that smell since my mom used to use it ofttimes. The opening however is very bright and fun, I kind of wish it would last longer because it changes quite quickly. Lasting power and projection are amazing for such a soft scent profile.

This is such a feminine, gentle and creamy scent. It is definitely floral, with a beautiful musky base. There is sandalwood in here, very well blended. I really like this, but it is really expensive. It reminds me of an early spring morning when the air is still a little cold, but there is a scent of spring flowers in the air and maybe a creek nearby. Gorgeous.

Re: the parfum concentration I feel like this is what a princess from east Asia would wear. Youthful, smooth, floral, creamy, FEMININE Blended to perfection. As a man, if I met a woman wearing this I would probably have an instant crush Ideal for summer and spring. I love it. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 9/10 Versatility: 7/10

As the color of the bottle indicates, this will be an aquatic fragrance. It reminds me of some SPA scents or something from the Rituals brand. It has soapy quality. Smells classy. It's quite intense and potent, so it might be better to smell it from a distance. It's among my top 4 scents from the brand.

Interestingly enough, on the first 4-5 hours this one seemed pretty unremarkable, and I was quite disappointed. But then it offered me a plot twist, much later after the dry down! The water+orchid notes become prominent and, boy, do they LAST! Now I really love this!

Stunning original and unique fragrance. Excellent choice for a truly long lasting fresh scent. This is the scent of luxuriant- a woman put together, she is powerful but moves quietly. A feminine plot twist. She leaves you thirsty to be in her presence.

What a gorgeous watery, floral but fresh smelling perfume. I think it could be beautiful year round but is perfect for those hot days you want to smell clean and fresh. I see this as a better alternative to Mojave ghost.

The notes are well blended together. It starts little bit aquatic and strongly floral . SWEET. Not citrusy at all. Very classie, pure floral and feminine. If you like sweet florals definitely try it out, and you will fall in love, the samples are free you just have to pay the shipping. As it dries down it remains powdery floral and sweet, i do not pick up the woody notes at all.It projects great, huge sillage, and it last and it last and maaaan it last on you on your clothes in your car. It is pricey but you realy have to use just one spray ( yes ONE) for a whole day and you are done ( Strongly) i would not recomand overspraying it. It may disturb others.And if you can get a headache from sweet/ floral scents try it out first befor purchasing

"What is the yin meaning? Yin is a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity, and absorption. It is present in even numbers, in valleys and streams, and is represented by the tiger, the colour orange, and a broken line." Based on its name, I expected the perfume to be feminine, and it was. I expected it to be earthy, and it definitely was not. I expected it to be dark, and it definitely was not as well. Was it meant to be a transformation away from the yin? Very possible. For me, the first sec of the perfume felt almost a bit balsamic, then transformed into sweet and eventually it turned into soft fresh summer perfume. Not for me, though. Too much yin, and I lack 50% yang for the full harmony.

Love it that’s not a acidic kind of summer fragrance. It has a slight aquatic accord, which I love. I didn’t love it at the first 30 minutes because it is slightly too feminine with too much floral in the opening but it becomes more unisex once it dries down. The aquatic accord grows stronger starting in the heart that makes it feel more refreshing. The performance is pretty decent as a summer fragrance, lasts 7-9 hours on skin with moderate projection. I rate it 8/10. I would rate 10/10 if it’s less floral and less feminine but I still love to use it since there’re not too many high quality summer fragrances that are not citrus heavy, which I have a hard time to find.

Comparison between the Parfum and the EDP: They’re both equally as sweet, but in different ways. The Parfum is more nectary and thick. The EDP is more airy and fruity. I tried the EDP first and I like it so much better. The Parfum feels very one-dimensional by comparison. Neither have strong projection or lasting power, but the Parfum has a tiny bit more of both. I think the difference in scent is much bigger than the difference in strength, so I based my decision to buy the EDP off of that.

I’m not sure if my sample is of the edp or the parfum. It starts of like a sharp fresh spring floral. It’s quite clean and dries down a little musky and soapy with almond milk. A breath of fresh air for daytime wear, perfect for Spring! Similar in its floral sharpness to Chanel - Beige. It is indeed the parfum. Upon reflection, I don’t enjoy this. It has the scent and reminiscence of baby wipes and talc. Having revisited it, Yin Transformation Parfum is not for me.

While this is too feminine a profile for me to buy, this was a nice sample to wear as it was quite interesting what it does imho. I often think of fragrances in terms of color, and this one seems to cover quite a few different ones I smell green, blue, white, orange, red and yellow in here, not completely unlike a rainy yet sunny day giving room for a rainbow. It's aquatic, airy and clean, yet warm and spicy at the same time. Great blending.

What can I say. I love this. The best way to describe it is Watery aquatic, and slightly powdery. Can't really pick up much else as ny nose is not super trained. It does last a good while on the skin. You can spray this year round. I would say you can probably spray more heavy in the winter but I personally do not recommend in very hot Temps as it could be cloying. I am glad to have it! Love love love.

Even though the watery notes are prominent, on me this is too powdery to wear in warm weather. On me, it's a fall/winter cashmere sweater scent, with little of the floral or citrus notes. There is a heavy cloud of orchid/orris and lots of white musk. I'm usually not a musk fan, but the watery notes are a lovely foil for all that musk.

One of the few fragrances I've gotten compliments on from my husband. It has a lotiony quality that I love. Florals are creamy after a slightly sharp opening. If it was a little less sweet in the drydown I'd spring for a full bottle. Scent sticks around forever on skin and clothes.

The opening is sweet, fruity and refreshing, then it gets creamier and deeper. Very complex and refined with feminin powdery facets on a base of white musk. The ultimate clean, delicate and classy scent. When i go out wearing this i feel so refined and feminin.

There’s a weird note immediately on the opening spray that I dislike, and then it quickly settles into an overpowering rose. It becomes more beautiful in the next couple minutes. Not sure I’d wear this but it is pretty.

this perfume has a strong powdery smell, with subtle floral and wood scents. The almond milk note was the most noticeable for me. i liked this one! definitely a good perfume if you want a clean delicate scent.

It's a very calm and beautiful scent. I put it on today and forgot, thought it was my face cream, that's how subtle the smell was. No fleshy yet pleasurable.

This is a beautiful scent. Far more feminine leaning than unisex; definitely more feminine. That being said the kind of guy I can see wearing this, is far from how I see myself. I’m ‘not that guy’ . That guy (in my head at least) likes to flirt with ‘gender norms’, ‘sexuality’, ‘social conservatism’ and trouser width....in his twenties. By 35, he’s married, two kids, lives in a good school district and drives an estate/station wagon. But to be honest the woman who’s wearing this is far more interesting. Unassuming, but far more interesting. 7/10

The note pyramid is wrong here on fragrantica. Top: Calypso Orchid, Manderin and Bulgarian Rose Heart : Almond Milk, Ylang Ylang and Iris Base : White musks, Sandalwood and Benzoin. It's a wonderful fragrance, like most from The Harmonist.

I spritzed on my arm after my shower and got into bed, my husband said what is that awful chemical smell? SIGH. Guess he is not a fan. Neither am I TBH. At least it was not a FB.

I don't understand these other reviews. All I smell is old lady rose. No thanks!

a basic water lily who at least doesn't scream mediocrity like most of this brand.

I purchased Yin Transformation Parfum at the beginning of my fragrance journey, and it has been a wonderful lesson. Despite many positive reviews and ethereal scent descriptions, I don't like this fragrance. I've desperately wanted to and have worn it over and over again to my nose's displeasure, feeling like liking it would make me feel as sophisticated as this is so often described. But I do not like this deep, aquatic rose, or how it mixes with the ylang ylang. It turns my stomach and puts me in a bad mood, so I finally gave it away. I'll never make this amateur mistake again--purchasing out of popularity.

I guess I’m not a fan of white musk (shrill and loud). I did not like this upon initial spray and what seemed like the longest eight hours of my life. It really rings true that when you love a perfume, for me Guerlain’s Joyeuse Tubereuse and Spiriteuse Double Vanille, you can’t enjoy it LONG enough but this one goes on and on. Sample first.

The Harmonist is such a great name for this house. Who else could make scent both aquatic and powdery? (I wish the notes were correct on Fragrantica) Top notes: Calypso Orchid, Mandarin, Bulgarian Rose - Middle notes: Almond Milk, Yang Yang, Iris - Base notes: White Musks, Sandalwood, Benzoin I got this because I was really curious about how the almond milk would interact with the other notes. The answer is beautifully. It is a very smooth scent a bit hard to pick out the individual notes (especially when you are looking at the wrong ones 😑) but it is super harmonious. When I smell it I don’t think “oh this is a floral scent” or anything like that it is very much it’s own scent. It also transforms throughout its extremely long wear time. It’s so subtle I don’t find myself thinking “I like how it smelled better 2 hours ago.” It just sort of evolves. This is truly a masterpiece. Do I like it or do I just appreciate the craftsmanship behind it? I definitely like it but I wear simpler scents more frequently.

This is angelic. This makes me feel like an Asian princess, as the watery notes mixed with the florals give an oriental vibe. It opens with a burst of citrus but it's not too sharp, it simply smells fresh and effortless. The floral notes start to come through to sweeten the fresh opening and round the edges. The mid-dry down is dominated by a white musk reminiscent of Initio's musk therapy, but if musk therapy were slightly sweeter and less sharp. This is what I wish musk therapy smelt like as to me it smells as though the musk and the citrus are fighting each other in that scent whereas Yin transformation simply smells so effortless, as if the musk gently blankets the citrus. This is the ultimate clean girl scent. This is so elegant and effortless, it almost smells too sophisticated to be an everyday scent even though it is every day appropriate. This is what I imagine heaven to smell like. Wow

On rare occasions, I have encountered the beautiful Calypso bulbosa in the wild, ...alas, I never smelled it. Understand to smell this rare, minute plant responsibly, without picking it, would require one to almost literally lay prone before it. ...Next time. Here at the opening of Yin Transformation, the calypso orchid scent is seemingly represented by a tartly green, aquatic-metallic, yet floral, note; ...something akin to cassis, muguet, et papier d'aluminium. ...but seriously, if you're able to abide full-on black currant, you will abide, or even like, this also. After that cold start, the rest of Yin Transformation's note pyramid is largely, and warmly accurate: So, a rose-led, mixed floral with a musky base. Even the almond note is present, but faint.

I finally found my signature scent. I don't care about the price. This is soft and beautiful, blended so well and it smells like you're not wearing a perfume and just smell amazing naturally. It's enchanting and everything I've been looking for. My search for a work scent/signature scent is over (healthcare worker). It smells powdery and slightly sweet almond milky, aquatic (fresh and clean), and in the background floral and very slight musk. It's smooth!!! This is a sweet, aquatic floral dream! I have Moon Glory and I thought I loved it but this is her softer milky powdery sister. And it's exactly what I've been looking for.

I mean just wow. So unique and intriguing. It smells very clean, like you just got out of an expensive shower, but there’s an edge to it that is a little sexy and fun. You’d think that it’s subtle but the woman who wears this turns heads effortlessly. She’s sensual and very sophisticated. I’d imagine a classy and mysterious woman would have this as her signature scent. I’ve never smelled anything like this because it’s so fresh and soft in just the best way but also pleasantly striking and unforgettable.

Pretty! Yin Transformation is an olfactory ode to femininity. It’s simply just pretty, florals on a warm musky base. The sandalwood here is light and warm. To me it’s just a mix of rose, yuzu, and iris, they’re the most prominent notes to my nose. It’s inoffensive and frankly a better Delina - in terms of well done classic florals. It’s something you can gift a 15 year old and 65 year old and they’ll both be satisfied. The longevity is weak for the Harmonist, 4-5 hours at best, moderate projection.
