A very special incense rose from The House of Miraj spearheaded by Rajesh Balkrishnan, a man with an impressive number of excellent collaborative releases under his belt who has recently assumed the role of creative director for both The House of Miraj and Spanish perfume house, Mallo. As the description states, Kahenah is named after a Berber warrior-queen and seer who led her people against the Arab Invasion of North Africa in the 7th century CE. A quick search of this historical figure led me to the alternate spelling, al-Kahina, which apparently is an Arabic title meaning “prophetess,” “seer,” or “witch.” One source added, “legends suggest she could communicate with birds who were able to warn her of advancing armies,” and although she was eventually defeated, she still stands as a symbol of sacrifice for the cause of freedom. This isn’t the first time Rajesh has created a perfume inspired by a strong woman, having released the sandalwood and fruit-forward Scheherazade last year in a collab with Dmitry Bortinikoff, and hopefully he’ll continue the trend going forward as it’s been a winning formula so far. Just as Scheherazade’s soothing, hypnotic qualities depict a savvy, intellectual storyteller, Kahenah’s rose and incense combo reads as both assertive and spiritual, very much befitting a warrior queen. I’m not normally very trusting of note lists, but this is an instance where a perfume’s note breakdown actually does give you a pretty good picture of what to expect. The smoke note here gives the incense a smoldering quality, but it doesn’t leap out and grab you in any sort of harsh way. More than anything it just serves to make the incense feel like it’s been lit. And I do eventually get some amber, but on my skin the incense and florals dominate for a good while beforehand. The clear star here is the unbelievably gorgeous Moroccan rose that serves as the heart of the composition. It’s such a singularly great note, both fierce and delicate, and it really demands your attention, so it ends up being perfect for conveying the subject matter. Great release altogether. Kahenah is appropriate for all seasons, and it has moderate to strong projection and excellent longevity. Highly recommended for those who love rose and incense. Enjoy!

For the color of ROSE, I imagine a ripe fig Crimson violet with fruity, fleshy white lychee Warm but dry notes of saffron with a touch of honey underlining the ROSE All fold in a very authentic Dear Musk note A Rose in itself, so intrinsically woven. Dry woody notes along Spicy beauty that I identify as clove, cinnamon, peppercorn, nutmeg and ginger... The musk sails all the notes. Gets warmer and plays on velvet Tonka, Almond, Vanilla, Benzoin and a creamy Sandalwood to me. Balanced and complete Harmony. Powdery and salty elements all in between, If I had to name it, I would say: Iris & Ambergris The base is warm, spicy, velvet, Ambery, powdery and woody. Old wood, aged Patchouli and Leather are accompanied by spices and noble flowers Gourmand accents of cocoa and vanilla swirling around. Beautifully beautiful beautiful! 19+ hours on my skin I tested Kahenah throughout the week, in sunshine, during the day, at night, in rain, in chill and warm weather and it is an absolutely complex, mysterious, deeply mature scent with character and Presence for me. This fragrance deserves a professional detective to uncover the mystery behind this wonderful frgrance.For some reason only 25 votes have been cases and its rating is 3.56. A the same time the reviews cite this as another masterpiece by Rajesh Balkrishnan. Two of the rave reviewers own hundreds and hundreds of high quality scents . Now just because someone has an extensive collection does not automatically turn them into master reviewers. On the other hand, the fragrances they own overlap significantly with my own so I give them the benefit of the doubt when valuing their words. I find this one mysterious in another way. Incense fragrances are onegrou I gravitate toward. It bears some resemblance to Fzotic's Ummagumma but not in any direct way. One reviewers compares it to one of my favorite Rajesh Balkrishnan creation-- Scheherazade. I see the relation in terms of each one telling a story but I find Scheherazade t be lighter in all the best ways this word can be applied to a fragrance. The rose in Kahenah is much darker. I think it might be worn best in cooler weather. It has good longevity and silage and is unisex. Miraj is a house I want to get to know better, but. I am lucky to own this gem

This fragrance right here is a must try for people who love #rose note in perfumary, it's by far one of the best rose I have smelled in years or most probably the best rose after the real stuff itself 🤩 Kahenah hits the right accords with its first spray that all your senses come alive and you would be surrounded by the fragrance bubble which would elevate your mood for good. But it's way more than rose, as It has gorgeous saffron with hint of spices and lavender in the background. Kahenah is a unisex fragrance, so don't go by the name of the queen. The Moroccan rose here is very rich and honeyed (not cloying) but Musk and amber in the base makes it very interesting and unique in a way that you would keep coming back to sniff it. It's been 6 hours and I am still with Kahenah 😍 Musk and Amber are at its peak and it's pure magic. Waiting patiently for the bottle @rbalkris @miraj_fragrances_and_attars
