Golden Powder

So this is a 90-95% dupe of Bouquet Ideale, I can't really find any discernible differences. What I will say is that BI on my skin had very poor performance, I was getting longevity of around 6h and sillage was poor too on the Xerjoff. I subsequently revised this review, as the initial impressions were better than I ended up getting. Longevity around 6-8 hours, just a tad more than the Xerjoff's 5-6h. Sillage starts pretty well (mediocre-to-strong), but goes intimate around hour 2 (still better than the Xerjoff which goes mediocre within like 15 minutes). Believe it or not, the value on the THOO is actually a tad worse. Golden Powder 75ml for €225 vs. Bouquet Ideale is 100ml for €270, but you can get the Xerjoff for 10-15-20% off from Xerjoff themselves all the time.

A very spicy, warm and sexy fragrance! I got a tester of this and it's on my wishlist now. I wore it in the evening and could still smell it in the morning (only 2 sprays). It's a unique take of vanilla and the spice combination make it very addictive and intoxicating.

This is so good - lasts very long. The smell is similar to Bouquet ideale but given the poor longevity of Xerjoff perfumes- this is definitely the better option.

My favorite THOO perfume to date. A cozy, vanilla sandalwood perfume with a bit of spice. Beautiful bottle! I am so happy to have this in my collection.

Golden Powder is a sweet/spicy vanilla-amber scent with woody nuances. It is subtle and warm - a comforting vanilla-centred scent that has just the right amount of sweetness. While it is unchallenging, it is high-quality, easy-to-wear and deeply pleasant. It is not the syrupy vanilla that seems to permeate virtually every new designer release these days - instead it is dry and powdery, more realistic, and blends well with the spicy-amber accord. GP unexpectedly opens with smooth, balsamic labdanum, the amber accord present from the very beginning. Vanilla follows soon afterwards, adding the aforementioned dry, dusty sweetness, reminiscent of old, yellowed paper. Warm, sweet spice rounds it out to perfection - mostly nutmeg initially. As it develops, the woody notes emerge, adding depth and richness. I get cinnamon in the later stages. It is nicely restrained, not veering into Christmas territory as is often the case with liberal use of cinnamon. The amber remains in the background, complementing the dominant vanilla note to perfection. It becomes a little musky as it dries down, fading to a dry, powdery vanilla skin scent with a hint of warm spice. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Warm and intimate, it is ideally worn as a subtle, cosy scent for winter days. While it is not terribly groundbreaking, it is beautifully executed. Feminine-leaning in my opinion, but the vanilla note here is potentially unisex. A soft, high-quality take on an amber-vanilla scent. Expertly composed. 4/5.

I have got this perfume as gift. This is cozy gurmand scent, scent is really fine and I love it, sweet and warm. Def.for cold weather. At first (for the first year) it was very weak with subtile (hand range) sillage. So I was bit dissapointed. Only positive and beatiful thing was bittle..Love THHOO bottles..they look so luxurious..top quality..great as decoration on shelf! However year and half later...thing changed completely. This morning I decaded to wear it just because I want to use up this frangnace as I was irritade with fact that it was so weak. So as I was aware that I'm spraying week perfume, I spray it on my neck(2x), wrist(1x) and on sweater (1x) . It seems much but at first 4 sprays would be strong for first 5 min..after that every hour it woul smell so much weaker..after 2hours of wearing it you could only smell it on your skin. As for today, it is all over the place...strong with enormus sillage(4h later) it is even too much for me who like or beter say adore strong and hevy and sweet frangnances. Is it because of maceration or what. Not sure! But def.not even close at the beginning. So yes I loveee it now. Before you get rid of it..If you like scent give it another chance..forget it for a year.. and then you will probably experience same thing as I.

Yeah, like it says: ambery, dry, warm, powdery, sweetish, pleasant but generic femme comfort scent with a vague vanilla aura. Restrained and well-balanced - no headache-inducing shoutiness, indeed it has very soft sillage and doesn't last much past 3-4h on my skin. Only thing that's exceptional about it is the price, in my opinion - there are so many other ambers which are stronger, longer-lasting or more characterful, that I can't really see who this one is specifically meant to please. Hard to imagine it offending anyone either, though - it might conceivably be a safe blind buy for those who like to spend big money on classy ambers, but there's so much else out there in that field that's more interesting! In my view ONLY, £2 or $3 per ml (the retail cost of this) seems like a lot to charge for such a generic experience.

As soon as I sprayed this, I knew it smelled familiar. This is an absolute dupe of Bouquet Ideale - but a similarly priced dupe. Even the note breakdown is identical. I find both scents pleasing- they have a nice spicy, but comforting feel about them. They are both sweet, but not sickly sweet, they stop just shy of being gourmand to me. I do understand why the combination of notes register to some noses as rubber, but it is inoffensive to me -even enjoyable. I can't really recommend one over the other. The sillage and lasting power are moderate for both. I think the only discernible difference to my nose is that upon first spray BI has an almost fruity quality that I do not get in Golden Powder. So I guess if you love the scents, get whichever bottle you prefer?

Reviewing a bottle from 2024. Golden Powder was launched in 2016. This is a sweet shimmering softly spiced fragrance. Fairly linear fragrance with peppery spices which seem too subdued. The aromatic woods are overshadowed by the sweet vanilla and coumarin. Nicely blended but very weak - not sure if it has always been this way or has been reformulated. Quality- very good Unisex- leans feminine Performance- weak to average Golden Powder is a delicately spiced vanilla gourmand. Easy to like and wear. A bit too weak and sweet for me and not as interesting as others I have in this genre such as Fleur de Sable and the extraordinary L'air du desert Marocain. 6.5/10

Golden Powder is a gentle dusting of vanilla sweetened spices, buffered subtly by rounded woods and lit tobacco. The spices are well defined, smooth, mildly smoked and very warm. The vanillin sweetness adds dimension to the scent, rather than becoming an accord in itself. Very natural and cozy, it is unisex in presentation and suitable for most occasions apart from hot summer days. Golden Powder is much less punchy than my preferred niche spices (Labyrinth of Spices, Rima XI), but it is also more approachable and versatile. Overall, a very well rounded spiced vanilla. Softly spoken yet elegant and comforting, like a warm hug.

Sweet & spicy, definitely a sexy leather jacket kinda scent. Hard to put my finger on what I'm smelling, but the blend of spices is really interesting & nose-tingly--almost peppery? Maybe it's the nutmeg. Smoothed out by the sweet/woody/vanilla notes. I definitely pick up a little on the tobacco. Overall I'm a fan! I could see getting a bottle of this to wear out at night, but I don't think it would make a great daily driver. Haven't tried Xerjoff Bouquet Ideale, but now I'm curious to try.

I get vanilla, powder, a touch of cinnamon, and surprisingly -- honey. Surprising because it's not listed. To my nose Bouquet Ideale is much more spicy, which is off-putting for me personally. I know the listed notes are the same, but they are very different. I can vaguely see how they are similar, but not enough to think that one would be confused for the other. This one's nice. I struggle with fragrances that are too spicy, so I prefer this one over Bouqet Ideale.

This is a really nice woodsy vanilla with some spiciness and powderiness. I enjoy wearing this during fall and winter. But I have to agree with the other comments that this is practically the same scent as Bouquet Ideale. Still lovely nonetheless.

To me it smells like a hybrid of Oud Bouquet and Spiritueuse Double Vanille. High quality and rich, but unfortunately the longevity and projection could be better. A pleasant gourmand, but not super original. 6/10

It should be called House of Dupes and not Oud. Most of their fragrances smell like something else on the market. This one smells like Xerjoff Bouquet Ideale but with less character and longevity.

It is pleasant and intimate smell, if you like thos type of notes you can blind buy tjos perfum. It lasts 4-6h but projection is pretty intimate. Fall/Winter perfume if you ask me.

An absolutely gorgeous carbon copy of Bouquet Ideale.

First blast of powder and then dirty almost rubbery woods, like fresh tires. Luckily the rubber note fades quickly and a warm spicy very dry woods takes its place, like a dry sauna at an upscale spa. No greens and moisture of a forest at all, just the scent of aged wood and warm vanilla. Nice but not for me. Masculine in the opening but dries down feminine; best for cool weather. 6+ hours later: This scent has completely transformed over the long drydown. The woods has waned a lot and brought forward a warm spiced vanilla. Much more to my liking than than before. Performance is also one of the longer ones from this house.

Last year finally I decided to buy serifs bouquet ideal I remember first I puff it on my coat and then I get out off the store to pass the time after exactly 15 min it started to make me feel terrible headache as I suffer migrern it was the worst pain I ever experienced🙁to day I feel exactly the same after testing a puff of hose of our golden power 🤯🤯🤯🤯if u have migren and chronic headache don’t try both!!!!

As Tyra once yelled: "WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU! We were all rooting for you!" This note list is a roundup of some of my favorite notes and I thought this was going to blow my mind and my bank account with as much as I may spray through. Nope. It smells freaking amazing, and the warmth and nuance and deft handling of powdery and dusty and sweet elements is awe inspiring. The performance is awful though. It starts off great but on me, with four different testings, after 15 minutes (seriously) it was a skin scent detectable at four fingers or less only. My decant was from a fresh bottle so perhaps they did something to this batch but as it stands: disappointment of the month right here. Scent: 9/10 its amazing. Seriously, at least test it. Longevity: 3/10 after the 3-4 hour mark, it can be layered over with no problem. Very weak. Projection: 1/10 if only because as super close snuggle tange you may still benefit for a brief window but not for this kind of money. Sillage: 0/10 nothing. Would I buy a bottle? Nope. I nearly hopped on luckyscent immediately after applying my first test sprays to buy one and got distracted, and am so glad I did. If you like these kinds of notes, Bond no 9's I Love NY for all, and L&M Parfums Scandinavian Crime should be on your next sample haul list.

Labdanum first jumps into the nose. Then the scent of chemicals. Like thinner. Cinnamon is weak and I don't feel it. The scent itself is weak, and even if you push it 2 times at a short distance, it will scent softly. Good for people who don't want to spread. Where did vanilla go?

After looking high and low for a vanilla I could actually stomach (as in, would want to wear it without wanting to eat it), a tiny sample of this serendipitously landed in my lap. This is the one. This is it! eureka! Sublime, edible, (yes, but would I, at THAT price? I don't think so), sweet (would the wasps mob me? maybe, maybe not), spicy? (definitley, but in a really nice Indian dessertshop kinda way The drydown is kinda soapy, very faint vanilla receding from the main tsunami of deliciousness leaving me gasping among the wreckage of my own miserable preconceptions. I'm really not getting sandalwood (good, cause these days it's all a bit sour and meh), and the musk is really nice, subtle, quiet, mood enhancing instead of lugging that horrible baby poop weighing down a diaper smell which cheaper vegetal musks are apt to dry down to. The vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon combo is outrageously well executed, so cleanly blended that you have trouble telling one from t'tother (to borrow a bit of Yorkshire parlance) because, I get definite yearnings to plant my entire face in a delicious creamy Yorkshire custard tart with nutmeg on it when I smell this superb conconction. Pretty sure the price tag reflects the bizarre egg packaging (lovely though it is, I prefer my perfumes unsullied by heat and light so it will stay in a box rather than grace my dressing table). 10/10 for lusciousness. 10/10 for driving me headlong into the criminal underworld to buy a bottle.

This quickly jumped into my Top 5 vanilla scents along with (in no particular order) Atelier Des Ors Lune Feline, Celine Nightclubbing, YSL Magnificent Gold & Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille. WOW is it good. Spicy vanilla with prominent woods that is so smooth and elegant smelling but can be worn anytime when the weather is sub 60 degrees fahrenheit IMO. I also want to mention that this does project off my skin and lasts a full day at least. It's not obnoxiously loud but people WILL smell you. Sample it.

A writer on Fragrantica wrote a nice article about this one, which is the only reason I tried it since I don't really care for vanilla; although he praised that it's a little bit of everything, to me it smells "muddy" with no distinctive notes; that's why I see the comparison with commercial fragrances (they rarely have genuine notes).

Nice Scent but nothing out of the ordinary. Cinnamon is about all I get with a splash of oud. Smells to much like every "1 million" type designer scent. I got the sample set of all House of Oud fragrances and I'm not overwhelmed by any of them. Don't get me wrong, they're all well made and will appeal to many, just not me.

I haven’t experienced any fragrances from Xerjoff or Raghba but to me I get a beautiful woody cinnamon that morphs into the same floral/woody vanilla I get from Spiritiuse double Vanille! This is 90% SDV with added spice. I got a full bottle for $90 so I’m seriously happy with this and the bottle is stunning!

Very warm & beautiful cinnamon type of fragrance. I'm a guy, and fortunately, I got a sample of this instead of the full bottle. Not because it's bad per say, just that it's a little too soft and powdery for my taste. While it says unisex, for me, it leans more on the feminine side.

Maybe it's because I'm not a huge vanilla fan, but this scent did not seem worthy of the hype it got. It falls flat, you pick up vanilla and spices but it also reads very tootsie roll-y. On my part, this is a headache-inducing scent. It smells strong but not of anything noteworthy.

Winter Scent: 7/10. A nice well balanced vanilla that never takes over, bit of cinnamon and nice nutmeg especially in opening than a bit more woody in the dry down. Good for cold weather, cozy scent sits close to the skin. Silage: 2/10 Longevity: 4/10

sweet & spicy. got turmeric but might just be the color/name. very much a spice cabinet scent which might be to strong for most people. eventually mellows out to a sweet spicy and woody vanilla.

It does not project at all and if there is any other smell in the room, you can't detect it even if you stick your nose into your arm where you've sprayed it. Extremely weak unfortunately

They are not even trying to hide the fact that this is a Bouquete Ideale copy. Not even a modification or reinterpretation attempt. They even have the same listed notes . The audacity !

Slightly linear but nonetheless lovely. Smells like a snickerdoodle cookie 🍪. The dry down is light with sweet and spice! Perfect for the autumn 🍂!

8/10 scent, beautiful vanilla blended with all the other notes making this fragrance into a masterpiece. It also smells nostalgic for some reason.

Smooooth sandalwood, vanilla, tonka, anise and nutmeg combo. Superbly balanced at the cost of being quite a linear (but addiciting) experience.
