If creativity bothers you, if you prefer predictable, soulless luxury then by all means, go back to those over-commercialized houses like Dior that drain your wallet while offering you the same recycled formula and buy your modern MISS DIOR without any SOUL AND CREATIVITY. But if you value art, emotion, and true imagination, L’Explicite is where perfumery becomes something much deeper a piece of art worn on skin. Ewww— haters will always hate. This isn’t synthetic or foul smelling, it’s actually really delicious for gourmand/banana lovers. It is truly a banana candy 🍬 sugary but also powdery with violet sprinkles. However the violets never take over. Don’t listen to these frustrated influencers wannabes below. ⬇️ Just because you didn’t get a free bottle as PR you don’t have to bash the creator and/or the house itself. It’s childish behavior. Learn and move on. The performance of L’Explicite is out of this world! Fantastic work. So yummy and addictive 🍌 besr Banana scent for body use, hands down!

I'm so in love with it, it's hard to describe, but it's purely sweet, gourmand, fruity. It reminds me of similar fruity perfumes like the Sarah Baker's Peach trilogy. The banana opens up gorgeously. I prefer it even over the banana by Sarah Baker (Jungle Jezebel). I agree with others that at the end I can feel the banana peels. So sweet and strong! I am in love with it.

Casali chocolate bananas are a popular Austrian treat consisting of a soft, banana-flavored foam covered in crunchy chocolate, dip that in peanut butter and take a bite, chew, spit onto cookie dough, give it a generous mix. There you have it! Having said that...I love it. No idea when or where to wear it... it’s strong and long lasting. Fun.

I received a sample of this, and it’s truly unique. The initial spray is intense — a creamy banana, nutty, ylang-ylang gourmand — but it softens beautifully as it dries down. I bought a full bottle, then canceled it, but later realized I kept thinking about the scent. It’s addictive, and I ended up purchasing it again.

So this is love... this is loveee! I am truly loving this. Smells extremely edible, like the banana powder used for deserts and milkshakes. Js like other thoo fragrances it has its own direct concept and vibe. Loves it to the fullest

Okay here comes an actual review. Unique scent, we don't get many banana perfumes. I think it really stands out, you cannot mix it up with any other scent. These days it is hard, given that perfumes just all smell similar somewhat. So props to THOO for not fearing to experiment with scents that could be a hit or a miss. And let's be honest, banana is not that conventional scent which everyone would easily go for. My biggest fear was that it would smell like banana-scented condoms. Likely not. Someone mentioned it smells like kids perfume. I have smelled a fair share of kids and teenage scents, but I cannot recall any similar smells. The banana here is more like banana ice cream however. But it is a rather realistic banana/fruity ice cream. And I would not say this perfume is juvenile. There are indeed "adult" notes inside. I cannot pick up what it is exactly but I think it is a great blend of amber, ylang, fruits and peanut. I was surprised vanilla is not listed. Finally, the longevity completely sold it to me! I gave 2-3 sprays on the shirt yesterday. Today I can still pick up the scent in my room! I am impressed. The few THOO scents I tried before never lasted that long on me. I totally see this scent being the perfect companion for a light-coloured linen suit or a dress. I would grade it as "feminine" but it could potentially fit some kind of men (as lond as they are wearing a light-coloured linen suit :D )

What a journey! There is peanut butter and banana but not in a fresh way. They exist here almost like in memory, more of a baked banana bread/ rum cake. But the batter you eat beforehand if you added a bit too much extract. It was fun at first, and then it was cloying/off putting, but I kept coming back. My partner likes it and it smells good in the air when they wear it but on its own on my skin, I’m not a big fan. I’m a fan of layering so leaning into the ripe edible facet of banana I mixed it with vanilla de Tahiti by Paris, Monte Carlo. That combo is lovely and rounds out of the almost savoury quality in this perfume. I’ve smelled Celeste and I think Celeste is a much easier introduction to whatever this category is. But I also really like Bianca latte. The real question is do I think this is wearable? Yes, but it takes a big sense of adventure. Not for the faint of heart and not blind bind worthy.

Smells like a heavily sweetened and floral peanut butter banana sandwich which is interesting but I dont think Id want to wear it out

I don’t think I would’ve guessed that this is a banana perfume if it wasn’t for reading the notes. And if it is, it is a very artificial one at that. Kinda like tutti frutti. The drydown on the paper strip is way better than just smelling the bottle cap, the strip drydown feels more flowery and ylang dominated, which I love. But I do not get the peanut butter/banana combo that people described, only that weird summer edition of Fanta with the tutti frutti flavour. On my skin it is way more artificial. Some lemon shines through that I never smelled on the paper strip, which makes it lemony and gourmand in the same way as ‘Bake’ from Akro. It gives off that cake vibe, and when I inhale, I understand that this must be the bread note. But maybe I am coloured from working in a cafe? The musk and fruity bottom notes are really trying to tie this together, but it still smells slightly off and ??? Maybe it is the overpowering ylang, the lemon and the fruit candy bottom that blends into a weird composition that I cannot grasp? I just wish I could smell the peanut butter more... In the final drydown it could give banana bread, but it also gives newly extracted honey. The amber shines more brightly, the lemon is completely gone, but the sweet fruits are lingering on with some spices. It never gets to a wow for me, but it is unique, and I like that even though I would never wear this myself.

Very unique, I would imagine a cool edgy, very contemporary and stylish girl would wear it. Love how incredibly well it performs, so loud and long-lasting! Also, love banans in perfumes but one notes completely dominates and ruins the experience for me. It is violet and I find it hard to tolerate it in perfume and to my pain and disappointment, violet is very prominent here 😢

opens up as creamy florals with banana candy and bread, but the longer it stays on the more the peanut butter note is drawn out. and when it's fully-fledged, my god, it punches you in the face. by far the strongest scent i've tried from THOO. can't decide if i actually like it or not but has great longevity and projection! overall rating: 🩷🩷💔🖤🖤 2.5/5

It's alright, but for the price and the lack of longevity, it’s just not worth it. On my skin, it opens with a very synthetic banana-candy scent and quickly dries down into a faint, musky banana. The whole experience lasts maybe 15 minutes. I loveeee banana as a note, so this was a letdown for me. :(

Oh my gosh, wow. It really does smell like spicy banana bread lathered in peanut butter. Not sure if I want to smell that way, but this sure is unique.

Marshmallow-like, slightly firm, pale yellow candies coated in sugar This scent is one of the strangest fragrance experiences I’ve had with any release from 2025. I smelled it immediately back in February, but because of its unusual character, I’ve only worn it a handful of times throughout the year. It’s rare to come across a gourmand that feels genuinely unique, but this is one of them. The fragrance features an extremely uncommon note, banana bread, which is what makes it so distinctive. I don’t like bananas in any form except Chiquita bananas with a hint of green left on the peel. They can’t be fully ripe, they can’t be sweet, and they certainly can’t smell sugary the way many other banana varieties do. They must smell clean and fresh. Because of this, I was fairly certain I wouldn’t be able to tolerate this scent at all. The fragrance opens very strongly with the smell of banana bread, and I was surprised by how much I wanted to keep sniffing it, even though I definitely wouldn’t want to smell like that myself. The creamy, rich ylang-ylang works surprisingly well with the synthetic banana accord. Fortunately, the bread-like aspect fades after about 15–20 minutes, allowing the scent to develop in a smoother and, in many ways, more beautiful direction. It then reminds me of those marshmallow-like, slightly firm, pale yellow candies coated in sugar. There isn’t much spice present, at least not enough to clearly identify. The overall aroma is soft and restrained, yet it remains unmistakably unique. Because of this candy association, the scent reads as very sugary to me. I think sugar would fit naturally among the listed notes, as would vanilla - especially since the creaminess and density coming from Ylang-Ylang, and likely the peanut butter note, make the banana accord blend into a subtle, synthetic vanilla-like sweetness. This fragrance is heavy and cloying in warm or hot weather, but in winter frost it is not overwhelming at all. So who is this scent actually for? In one of my videos, I talk about how we influence ourselves and others through fragrance, and this is one of those scents that does not create a professional impression. It’s unsuitable for formal settings due to its playful, candy-like, almost childish, character, and it may be unpleasant for people around you. The distribution of ratings surprised me: I expected far more extreme reactions, yet most ratings sit somewhere in the middle. My guess is that many people approach it the way I did - recognizing that while it isn’t personally wearable, it still deserves credit for being genuinely special. That said, it’s very difficult to find the right occasion for it. In the end, this is a fragrance I respect far more than I enjoy wearing. Its originality is undeniable, and it proves that gourmand perfumery can still surprise - even unsettle - those of us who think we have smelled it all. While it doesn’t earn a place on my shelf or in my regular rotation and remains difficult to wear in real-life situations, I appreciate it as a bold creative statement rather than a practical scent. Sometimes a perfume doesn’t need to be lovable to be memorable, and this one certainly is. Performance-wise, the scent lasts well and projects strongly, but it can easily become overwhelming and even cause headaches if applied too generously. I think the scent is unisex. I added this to my wishlist with high hopes. Banana bread, peanut butter, gourmand heaven. Everything I love. So I came in with sky-high expectations, and unfortunately, this one is really not good. The opening smells like fake banana mixed with nail polish remover. And no, not the alcohol blast that burns off after two seconds with a regular parfum, this stuff lingers like it’s part of the composition. The alcohol clings on, making the whole opening smell like chemical warfare. It's pretty hard to describe the scent, but something I would not call wearable (to me, of course. It's all subjective) to say the least. After this, it gets real musky and floral while keeping the fake banana in the forefront. The best way I could describe it is if you smeared a mushed rotten banana on a black ice car freshener while eating violet candies. That’s what I've got. The musk is not animalic in a sexy, daring way. Animalic in a trash bin kind of way. I wanted so badly to love this. I wanted to smell like a peanut butter banana dessert. Instead, I got chemicals and regret. If there's anything redeeming about this, I think the violet note is quite lovely, actually.

Compared to my other THOO scents the oil concentration doesn’t seem so high in this one. You’ll have to spray a lot for it to keep some of that banana scent as it goes away. The scent kind of favors the inside of a shoe sole that brand new. I do get bready and some spices. Very sweet banana though. Sticks close to the skin so I’m not happy with that. I’ll come back after I let the fragrance sit a few weeks to a few month and see if it ages.

Yellow Banana Runts crushed into a sugary powder that was mixed into banana bread. Then I get browning banana peels. So sweet. So strong. Definitely a banana dessert, banana liquor, or banana candy vibe. Other people will smell you. Eccentric fragrance. Unfortunately,I'm a boring accounting person.

I wanted to love this one so badly. I watched reviews, hyped myself up, counted the days for delivery and sprayed it... immediately I was like WTF?!? It smells like cat urine... so I rationalized: it just released, it may need some time, it was in the UPS truck in the summer in FL, it just needs to cool down... sprayed it out a few more times, put it in a dark dry cabinet in the coolest part of my home... and waited 4 months... it still smells like cat urine to me. And it’s strong and it lasts... I sprayed a test strip yesterday (I keep trying to make it work) and accidentally got my finger tips, I washed my hands a few times throughout the day but when I got in the car to pick my son up from school... I could still smell it. Can anyone help me out? Which note might it be that’s giving me that impression?? I have a few other banana fragrances (some that I like and others that I don’t love), but none that smell this pungent. I’m just recently getting into perfumes (April/May) and I’m trying to approach this analytically - and clearly there are many people who love this scent - so it must be a note that I just pick up as foul

Ok immediately gross. I kept wondering if it was my shirt that maybe I put on a shirt that hadn't been washed yet. It smells like how you'd smell if you went into someone's home who was cooking and the house smells like fried food grease that transferred into your hair and clothes. Topped with powdery violet and lots of it. There's a weird herbal grassiness to it. Almost hay like or malt I dunno honestly. Definitely a scrubber, definitely about to take this shirt off. And never look back. And yes actually it smells like stale bread or stale fries

This is a good test for how sensitive you are to modern Amber-Musks (amber fixatives). To me these amber base notes are so strong that they kill all the other notes that I was just beginning to smell. I generally love this house, but I hate that they also have jumped on this train of strong Amber-Musks that I personally find disgusting while there are so many people that are completely anosmic to them. Imagine banana bread but instead of actual banana you used cheap banana candy to make it. At first the scent doesn't seem "that bad" but I (unfortunately) sprayed my tester on skin, and the performance is extreme. I smelled the tiny test spray for 8+hours (with the same intensity!) and the scent becomes sickening after 1h or so... It's actually nausea inducing. Please don't wear this if you plan to go in enclosed spaces...

Ugh! SO disappointed. I got a sample after watching one of KathleenLight's recent videos... I love banana, lemon, violet, literally everything in the scent list, but I get this weird medicinal, mint scent that stays throughout the entire scent journey and ruins everything for me. The dry down smells like a banana runts or like a banana toothpaste mixed with violet. Gross!

Yes, there is a little savory peanut smell. Also, there is the banana - as chemical as it gets. It's a cool, niche gourmand concept, but smells absolutely foul to me. I'm in awe that someone actually gave green light to bottle this. So far, it's the worst thing I have smelled in 2025 yet, but I'm very curious to read what other people think about this.

Cat urine. 100% sold immediately... wanted to love it and thought “it might just be me and my unsophisticated nose” and then I went deep into perfume madness, got a sample of it and ... CAT URINE. I wish I was getting what so many others are picking up but I’m not... I can’t... it’s vile :(

The peanut butter and bread notes made me nervous, but this is much more about the creamy banana and florals. It does not smell really synthetic - I love banana fragrances so I've tried A LOT. This is not what I would call a synthetic banana at all. It's actually well-blended, not as loud as I expected. Do I need it? Not sure. I own Bana Banana and this one is slightly more gourmand and smoother than that one. I may add this to my collection, the bottle is adorable. And no it does not smell like a children's fragrance, it's got more going on and better quality for sure. But you have to be a little adventurous with your perfumes to "get it" imo.

I have twelve perfumes by the house of oud but this is my absolute favorite! an unconventional gourmand, you can immediately smell the banana and ylang ylang, then after an hour You can smell more the gourmand side! the peanut butter is definitely there! On me it lasts more than 12 hours and leaves a powerful trail! Bana Banana Vibes (not a clone but if you love bana banana you will love this) ❤️

This is soooo cute and pretty smelling. I don't get spices, bread, nor peanut butter. I get purple, lightly sweet scent, a slight, tiny touch of creamy/nuttiness with banana candy dust. It's wearable, girly and fun!
