The Time or Thé Time (tea time in French) is a tea masterpiece. As a self proclaimed tea fragrance expert, this is what I had been looking for for years when I discovered this beauty three years ago. In this composition, tea is set on a base of light woods and florals. The flowers aren't creamy or pink, they're airy and aromatic. And oh does this last. I can smell it at the end of work day. Tea scents will never perform loudly like oud bombs; they're not intended for the "notice me in this room" effect, that was never their purpose. However, people will stop you and ask what you're wearing simply because it's an unparalleled refined and sophisticated scent. Subtlety, calmness, elegance, and peace is what tea evokes. This fragrance is one of my signature scents. I gravitate towards it when I want to feel happy. In a more rational way, I also wear this to work and during important meetings or work events as I know it could hardly offend anyone.

Tried this today and both my wife and I fell in love with it. The opening reminds me of a nice tea rose smell even though it's not rosy at all - it's just that pleasant. I'm not good at picking notes but I can say it's spicy, airy, crowd pleasing, comforting, not vanillac or ambery, not too woody, and not aromatic in the medicinal sense. Just a slightly fruity, slightly spicy, floral tea that is hard to dislike IMO. Good longevity and OK sillage. Definitely give it a try if you come across it. Bottle is hideous but oh well. Also quite overpriced IMO so look for it on discounter websites. Found if on Jumashop for half retail.

Fifth essence of excellence, exclusive for lovers of aromatic / citrus fragrances. Opening notes a sensational and Mediterranean bergamot drenched with a celestial chamomile, followed by a green train of Roman wormwood. Quenches your thirst. Well done House of Oud. Smells like sipping an arnold palmer on a tall country club hill over looking the salty ocean! I got a sample of this, but could see myself buying this to wear on a vaction to a seaside village in northern France during the early summer. The Lemon Verbena smells lovely in this fragrance, and the tea notes just make you want to keep sipping/sniffing lol! While anyone can wear this, it's likened for the more mature, and sophisticated. Quite unisex too, which I love!

This is a such a beautiful fragrance. Upon spraying it, the whiff of bergamot carries which could be a bit much, but the white floral note complements it really well. And then it develops into a sublime, long lasting, herbal green tea smell. It's just divine, very well balanced in my opinion. Perfect for a date. ***Others remarked that the smell they detect is a reminiscent of a "toilet cleaning product."...girl... i want my toilet to smell like that, what do you mean.

Strong tea opening, a warm cup of black oriental tea on a cool day. It settles into a quiet breeze, the sound of wooden wind chimes. The smell of the trees in the garden drifts in. Comforting and meditative. It's beautiful and mellow. Not much projection, I have to smell my arm to know it's there. But the longevity is good - it still smells as strong after a few hours. This is my new favourite fragrance!

It gives the feeling of drinking chamomile tea in your cozy balcony wearing soft white shirt while you smell the citrus and green leaves in the breeze. this one is really easy to like for someone who enjoys the tea note. clean and refreshing with good longevity and moderate sillage.

I adore it, but I do find it rather weak. HOWEVER, I wore it to play some light sports and ~1.5 hours after application someone about 10 feet away said “what smells so good??” And it was me. A beautiful scent for when you want something light and easy.

i really like this. a lot of tea notes make it very welcoming. got a lot of compliments with this and on my skin lasts 12+ hrs. on my clothes even longer.....like 4 days. best tea fragrance i have so far.

Really nice fragrance. Blind bought. It's fresh, citrusy, with nice tea notes. Thankfully, not getting powdery notes. Good price point if you find at discounters. Very easy to wear.

To me this smells very similar to Moschino's I Love Love but without the sweat aroma, whatever that sour/salty element may be.

The Time (Thé Time?) is an intimate aromatic scent, cooling and refreshing without relying on citrus notes. Its performance is extremely limited however, and given its price point, I could never justify buying a full bottle. It is a tea-centred scent - a note I love. Clean and soothing, it is nicely composed and pleasant throughout. It just doesn't last much beyond an hour. TT opens with bitter, herbal wormwood and a drop of bergamot - refreshing and aromatic from the very beginning. The chamomile enhances the herbal quality, and the cool tea note creeps in shortly afterwards. A hint of herbal-lemon verbena rounds it out, and it quickly dries down to a woody, musky skin scent. Sillage is intimate and longevity is weak. A simple, comforting scent, it is the kind of scent I would spray after a shower/at bedtime in hot weather in an aromatherapy context. Definitely overpriced in this context, however. A nice composition that is perfectly unisex, it loses points for its performance, or lack thereof. 2.5/5.

THOO writes "blue tea" instead of oolong as a heart note. While blue tea and oolong are synonymous in Chinese culture it has nothing to do with the butterfly pea flower which westerners often connect with the color blue in tea. Smelling this my initial reaction was green. Smooth greens and yellow citruses. But throughout the progression of this fragrance and as a smooth buttery heart of iris and cedar started taking up more space and the tea turned darker i realised i was thinking of a deep indigo. Somehow still fresh and vibrant.

gorgeous tea scent! I wasn't really sure what to expect with the combination of chamomile, wormwood, and lemon verbena, but I find this to be energizing when first sprayed and more comforting as it dries down and the initial notes fade away. I think this would make a great year round tea scent as its perfectly fresh smelling, but not too summery.

I love the opening and the instant fresh oolong and black tea scent. I wish it was stronger and longer lasting. It's definitely a fragrance you wear for yourself, others won't smell it. No sillage, very little projection, very faint. Lasts maybe 2-3 hours on my skin. I love the smell though, it's lovely and would be perfect if it lasted longer.

Smells like another fancy hotel lobby fragrance. I dont know why but citrus/tea combos often go that direction for me. It smells nice though. No toilet cleaning product vibes whatsoever. Also reminds me a bit of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea and yes Dear Polly as well.

Superb tea scent, I like the hint of smoke here, even if its pretty tame. I would call it a safer and more palatable cousin of Byredo Mixed Emotions, where the smokiness is amped to 11, but well balanced with sweet and sour gorgeous black currant.

Very pleasant, I edit the comment for 3rd time, cause its growing on me so much. There is a small but noticeable hint of smokiness and also some sweetness, like some blueberry tea. If only performance was better...

I love the smell but have to bury my nose in it to smell it. Great tea scent. Refreshing.

First blast of soft wet greens and black tea. I guess the name of the perfume is meant to be Tea Time (since The is the French word for tea). Softly pleasant for the 10 seconds it lasts. This is the 2nd House of Oud perfume I've tested and both of them have been super fast and fleeting. Kind of frustrating and the only reason why I'm ranking this one low. Try Atelier's Oolong Infini if you want a tea scent that lasts and projects. Unisex and good for all weather. Go ahead and bathe in it because that's the only way to make this one last more than a minute. 6+ hours later: Okay I'm changing my review. Yes the perfume is so light and transparent for the first half hour that it's like you sprayed water. But over time, I'm finding that it just takes an incredibly long time to bloom on my skin and the dry down is stronger than the initial spray. I'd still be too impatient to wait around for it though.

The way this smells like hardly anything is perplexing. 5 sprays, (3 on skin, 2 on shirt). Having the same issues as others here and I didn't even get my sample from Lucky Scent.

At the very beginning it reminded me a bit of Chloè's Nomade, then it quickly warmed up, changed very quickly, it became a bit more tea-ish. I like it

on paper I love the combination on my wrist it has something I can't fully understand but its not pleasant on me

An okay citrus tea scent. Nothing to write home about. Moderate sillage and longevity.

Light inoffensive tea fragrance

In the last note I find some sort of aroma chemical which is kind of sharp and perfume-y and unpleasant to my nose. I quite often find the same aroma chemical in Escada's limited edition perfumes.

I also got my sample from Luckyscent and am also having the same experience. I suspect it may be type of tea note used. I noticed someone compared it to O Unknown by Imaginary Authors. I had the same experience of not being able to smell anything of that fragrance except something that faintly reminded me of a sheet of paper fresh off a photocopier. Yet I have both Five O'Clock Au Gingembre by Serje Lutens and L'Artisan Tea for Two and can smell them just fine. In short my suspicion is there are different kinds of tea notes and apparently some of us are just completely anosmic to them.

I can pick some notes (chamomile, tea leaves, bergamot, iris) that could make this smell like tea, but the more I sniff it the more it smells like a toilet cleaning product. There is a note in there that makes it unpleasant. Also, really overpriced. Sadly, this is a no for me. All I can smell is the overwhelmingly medicinal combination of wormwood and verbena. The tea and oolang notes smell stale and cheap, like old discounted boxes of teabags. Definitely not worth the price, despite the beautiful bottle.

I think Luckyscent provided straight up WATER in the vial. Came here first to see if I should expect it to smell like nothing and saw the review below mine. Because I couldn't smell anything on the dabber, I decided to pour it onto a sheet of tissue but the viscosity is not that of an alcohol based perfume. It doesn't easily drip out. It literally sits there at the edge of the opening exactly like a bead of water. I'm not nose blind to it. It's not that the scent is too soft to smell. It's WATER in the vial. Water. I'd rather they didn't charge me or send another sample altogether. I don't think it's chemically possible to have cedar, bergamot and amber combined together to smell like NOTHING. In what fragrance universe does cedar and amber disappear into the ether without a trace? I contacted LS and they offered to send another sample and test it before shipping, but I can't get past the audacity to send water in the first place. Instead, I'm about to order the discovery kit directly from House of Oud and will update this review ASAP. Received my kit about 30 minutes ago and immediately sprayed this one on my wrist. I wish I could upload pics to demo the slight sheen it leaves compared to the WATER supplied by LS that evaporates without a trace. The scent is very light like a body splash version of Valentino's Rosa Verda. It also reminds me of the white tea Westin Hotels uses to scent their properties but with a bit more lemon. It's pleasant enough, but it's not a scent I'd want to catch whiffs of on a really hot day as I think it would give me a slight headache. If either of the users who got bamboozled by LS still wants to try it, I'll send you my THoO sample.

Opening: Chamomile + Citrus. Very nice and pleasent. Mid: Oolong tea + Lemon verbena. Fabulous, i like tea notes and tea infused with lemon just won me away. The tea note is the best i have smelled. Base: Black tea + Woods. Just amazing, tea note is yummy. I sniff my wrist again and again. The time is the best tea fragrance i have ever smelled. The composition is simply masterful. The notes infuse extremely well with each other. I would totally buy several bottles of this amazing fragrance but there is a huge problem of longevity, projection and sillage. My skin is already an eater so i had a hard time even smelling myself :(. I am used to get good performance from other thoo fragrances such as Dates delight, but this one is faint and powerless. The time is probably a summer time fragrance which needs high heat to show itself. But i dont think it would last long even under high heat. In cold weather you need heavy sprays and perhaps several reapplications.

“The only thing that belongs to us is time” (Seneca) The time is a fragrance that wants to catch what is one of the most underestimated aspects but to which we should give more importance: time for oneself. Sit down, relax, stop: one of the most representative moments is certainly the moment of tea (a note clearly perceptible in this creation) not totally belonging to our culture, but which makes us reflect on the sacredness of carving out personal moments, living them and enjoying them. Let's leave the rush behind for a moment (represented in my opinion by the sparkling and citrus notes at the beginning) and live slowly (even the chamomile, present at times, contributes to this vision). And who, if not Salvador Dali with his watches, could better represent everything? Time is a perception that changes, through our actions and emotions.

The Time reminds me very much of other popular citrusy tea perfumes like Nishane's Wulong Cha, Floraiku's I am Coming Home, and Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea. I had hyped this in my mind - not sure why, maybe due to the bottle?- but I was let down by this perfume. I like the herbal touch added by the chamomile note which sets The Time apart from the previous fragrances, but it's a bit too astringent and green for me. The longevity could also be improved but I understand tea perfumes typically perform pretty poorly. I think The Time would be nicer on a man.

This is light, airy, pretty. I love to savor a cup of tea every morning. Every afternoon and evening as well. I love to smell all of the different teas I have, and making a cup of tea is a form of meditation for me. This fragrance puts me in an introspective frame of mind. It creates the most peaceful bubble around me. I don’t get anything in this that would hint at cleaning supplies. I also love that I can wear this to work and know it won’t bother anyone. A reminder throughout my day of the time I can go home, make some tea, and relax.

Light, almost invisible greens and tea, lemon verbena, very summery. About fifteen minutes in, the iris makes an appearance in its metallic form, then fades back. Never high on sillage, this is very hard to detect on the skin without pressing the nose in. It’s quite nice, a summer fresh, nearly floral scent, that doesn’t much resemble the listed notes. And for the price, the sillage is stupidly low. Not worth full bottle. At a drugstore price, I would buy this. For the huge price tag they ask for House of Oud, they can certainly keep it.

I enjoy it, it has a very gentle presence with a little bite from the incense, considering that the whole scent is mild, the incense is like a silent nod, you notice it but it doesn’t stand out. A few minutes in, you start to get some lovely sweetness and the tea starts to develop. The scent reminds me of I am coming home by Floraiku but both have different finishes. I have a full bottle got on a good deal and I am happy to have it but wouldn’t say you must get your nose on this. Also, yeaa, the bottle is quite something.

to the folks in the comments who are looking for a tea scent they are not noseblind to... my mother regifted bvlgari thé rouge to me, and it smells like tea, but also like a refined ladylike perfume that i rather enjoy. of all my perfumes, this is the one my S.O. most frequently requests i wear. (if we are going to sit on the couch together, I let him sniff 3 and pick one) i own perfumes at all price points, but the cost-benefit analysis doesnt support buying this one.

Emerald green citrus, vetiver, jasmine tea, ginger, nutmeg, white musk and iso e-super. A crisp, fresh citrus-based scent with lots of airier notes in the style of something like Nishane's Wulong Cha or perhaps Rosendo Mateu no.1 This composition feels more woody than both and less sweet than the latter but more loaded with synthetics than both, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. A happy, sparkling summer fragrance.

for a while i have been looking for tea scents i have tried a few,mostly they are on the feminine side until i got this. soft refreshing tea scent with soft traces of chamomile and iris which the musk makes go together with a wonderful scent of tea. the best tea scent i have tried and bought so far.

This perfume disappears on my wrist after 15 min. I barely smell it. The tea note is dominant with a hint of citrus. It is a nice smell but omg, it is just so soft.... VERY VERY SOFT. I don't dislike the smell but I'm disappointed for sure.

Out of the nozzle / first 5 minutes it smells like honest to goodness cat pee, but the dry down is fantastic. Evokes a soft citrus and this odd "concrete" accord. Great office fragrance to apply just before you head out for work.

Identical to Time for Energy by Versace from 2000s. Leans towards more masculine fresh on me. Would be a great summer fragrance but unfortunately too boyish for my nose.

clean and fresh! This gives a different take on Spring and summer scents. Very calm and relaxing aura with this scent. Another winner from the House of Oud!

Surely its inspired by Clive Christian Matsukita . The light vibe of smoky, woody tea. Its beautiful, but light. So yeah Matsukita wannabe!
