Wind Heat

1st impression: I didn't expect much from this, but turned out surprisingly pleasant! One of the best from this line. It's bright (almost aldehydic) and calming at the same time, with a vague floral bouquet sitting on white musk (very little "suede")--sounds boring but it's very classy and niiice~ 2nd try: This time the aldehydic vibe is much stronger like a classical floral, yet quite fruity with strong peony & freesia. It's officially my favorite from the collection :)

This is a spicy and fresh scent with rose to my nose. I can see this as unisex: the heavy pink pepper and suede afford this. BUT the florals are quite feminine. The peony and freesia are a fresh, feminine soap combo that play nicely with the musk. Definitely a like but doesn't knock my socks off.

The opening is just dynamite. It is so bright it evokes some forest notes to me. It glides smoothly with minimal change down into a skin scent.

Wind Heat is the first disappointing scent from THoO for me. While the name suggests something along the lines of Chergui or L'Air du Désert Marocain, it is instead a sweet-spicy peony-rose with a slightly unpleasant animalic quality to the drydown. The suede note is very subtle - it is more synthetically musky than truly leather-like - a pity, as I really enjoy a good suede note in perfumery. WH opens with soft, sweet peony and something akin to aquatic lychee in the background. Pink pepper adds rosy spice. A pine-like quality develops after the opening settles a little, woody, green and aromatic. Some powdery rose emerges as it develops, becoming drier and more animalic. As it dries down, it becomes an animalic musky-rose skin scent with remnants of pink pepper adding soft spiciness until final fade. I'm not a fan of the synthetic, animalic musk here - it is a poor substitute for a well-rendered suede note. Sillage is strong and longevity is moderate. A simple, linear scent that starts off intriguingly but runs out of steam, WH is not bad overall, just underwhelming. Feminine-leaning and best worn in warm weather. OK, but pointless in my opinion, especially given the price. There are much better THoO offerings available. 2.5/5.

Wind Heat is ok. It has some complexity and depth to it but I can't help that it reminds me of an early 2000s perfume that gave me a headache. It also comes off a bit cheap. I want to like this brand so much but I can't get past the synthetic smells. A scrubber.

I always look for what to wear my Nishane’s Suede et Safran with, because I love it in when subtle, but even then it can tire me eventuality because if it’s longevity. If Wind Heat isn’t a light perfume, but lifts it up somehow. If you were to tell me that Wind Heat was an airy/blue take on Gris Dior, or Kenzo Flower, or Bottega Veneta or even Tom Ford Oud Wood - a flanker of any of those, featuring notes of freesia and suede, I’d believe you, because they all will share the sort of smoky pastel lipsticky side of Wind Heat. The pleasant “gloomy” vibe. Wind heat is more floral and slightly skanky but in a good way. Very unisex and not like the gourmande of the house. Something like a soft leather sour musk funk makes it interesting - probably it’s the type of oud they use. If I want to tame a bit its floral side, and don’t feel like too much leather or suede notes, I simply layer Wind Heat with JHAG Musk Invisible - this make the aldehydic notes pop better and add some extra “alkaline” touch - the one you smell in a wet bar of creamy vintage soap or it’s lather. If there’s a bar of vintage milk soap with a scent of luxury, for some Victorian royalty to groom with - this is how I imagine its rich lather would smell. This is not an advice on layering. But since by amplifying certain notes or toning down others by combining scents I get to understand the compositions better and how they work - these are my two cents to others who are like me and this is how they too form a fuller picture. And for layering, denser perfumes benefit from Wind Heat, as long as you actually like them :). Here are my suggestions: Initio Psychedelic Love, Amouage Journey, Nishane Suede et Safran, D&G Red cap, Eau de Sisley 3 (last 2 layer each other nicely too); some leathery irises (Evoke Gold for him/ Prada l’Homme etc...) and many more.

This is a good example how Fragranatica confuses people and dictates what their noses feels, or they build their descriptions around the notes listed here. But the pyramid is totally wrong! Check out on the official website! Top: pink pepper, nutmeg, bergamot. Middle: Virginia cedarwood, iris Base: suede, musk, vetiver, Burma oud. I hear it as citrusy spicy, nothing floral. “For women and men”, ONLY if you crave to be all the way PC. This is as masculine as Victoria’s Secrets Annual Sale. Speaking of which, this smells of every Vickie’s Secrets I’ve been in. Wind Heat starts off with a fuzzy-fruity-rose, backed by loads of freesia and peony. I was hard pressed to find a formidable leather note lurking within, but to no avail, there is none on my skin. Wait a minute, this reminds me of a very run of the mill fruity-floral-musk scent, that just so happens to explode in a woman’s handbag – there’s the leather! And there is my stomach in knots! No thank you.

Something extremely potent in here since it's making me noseblind almost immediately. The faint nuances I do feel are - a clean synthetic oud, bergamot peel, a slightly powdery candied peach and a hint of raspberry. Quickly gets sweeter with white musk dominating and a hint of violet. The immediate opening is great and then it goes south from there but definitely not a bad fragrance, just not for me.

This is a direct copy of Alaïa black bottle. I like Alaïa more since it's fresher and possesses something magical but this isn't bad at all.

It’s fine to me but I’m being patient with it to sit longer and hopefully it’ll get better with maceration

Too Feminine. Totally not Unisex. Mis-labeled and mis-leading. Smells like Miss America.
