Wonderly

Wonderly is the last of the Desert Day collection for me to test, allowing me to finish on a high. These five perfumes varied in quality from the superb rose-oud of Blessing Silence to the unconvincing peony that is Wind Heat. Wonderly is perhaps the most unusual offering, featuring an odd combination of notes that blend together surprisingly well to create a luxurious powdery caramel effect. To my nose, it is reminiscent of Prada Candy, perhaps the best mainstream gourmand scent, but Wonderly is less sweet and features a more artistic approach to its composition - a niche alternative to Candy. The sweet, fruity opening of Wonderly is soft and hazy rather than juicy, giving it an air of sophistication. The apricot more resembles osmanthus here. Powdery florals emerge after a little while, blending beautifully with the fruity opening. Clean jasmine and soft iris are most evident. A beautiful floral almond note emerges, hazy and heliotrope-like. Powdery, dry vanilla adds sweetness, and, together with the almond blossom and fruity opening, takes Wonderly to gourmand territory. As it dries down, it becomes softly woody and a sweet amber accord emerges, blending beautifully with the vanilla, giving a soft, powdery caramel effect. Remnants of the florals remain, adding to the sweet powdery quality. It becomes slightly musky in its final stages, fading to a sweet, musky-amber skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Creative yet utterly cohesive, Wonderly is an intelligently composed woody-amber scent with gourmand aspects. It is easy-to-wear, elegant and feminine-leaning, and is best worn in cold weather. Such a beautiful, beautiful fragrance. I ordered testes of the full range of HoO and this was my first tester. It makes you wonder what you just smelled. Apricot, Goji and Almond are a super triple and the dry down is a dream. Get a tester and enjoy the experience. I will get myself a bottle. *I am new to the world of scents, I have a good nose, great insides but still learning the right words for it. Stay with me (: *

Love this one! It was a blind buy, and I love it so, so much. I don't think it smells like anything else I can think of. It is floral and sweet and pretty, and it has everything beautiful that I like. I love the apricot and almond blossom and Incense and flowers. Gorgeous blend!

Wonderly is wonderfully designed. The almond and Berries are blended perfectly and smoothly. It's a very gentle fragrance and does not scream at you, rather it lays on your skin like a soft pillow of comforting almonds and Sandalwood. Love it.

Beautiful perfume. The opening is dominated by almond, which blends with peach and flowers, creating a fruity and sweet aroma that's not cloying. The almond note then recedes, and the sweet and fruity notes take center stage.

9 - Fruit and almonds, strangely muted. A lot of musk. A little bit of iris. 9:30 - The myrhh has blended with the apricot and taken center stage. A very small, shady stage with shy actors. I think maybe this needs some warm weather to blossom. I'm feeling underwhelmed but not annoyed. The bottle and the name made me want to like this more than I do, but it isn't terrible. Makes me think of a niche version of drugstore perfume, but not as pungent as that implies. It's good enough that I'll try more from this house, but not good enough to buy or even get another sample of. 10:30 - It's somehow stronger now than it was an hour ago. It's nice, but still boring. Maybe I'm just cranky. 1 - for all that I didn't think much of the performance at first, it's still going fairly strong. 4 - well I can't smell anything directly, but I smell fantastic in a general way. Huh.

On first spray, this is straight play-doh. That mellows out a little bit and that powdery iris comes through quickly (<5min). It's not thick but soft and pleasant. Not beastmode so definitely a "for me" scent.

First blast of sweet bright fresh fruit overlaid with slightly smokey incense; the fruit is hard to pin down. The notes say apricot and I get pear on my skin. No almond, no jasmine. Frustratingly but not surprisingly, the scent is gone after about a minute. I so want to get something from this house but the performance just isn't there. I can't justify that price tag, especially since I had to go super heavy on the sample just to pick out a couple notes. Lovely fresh yet mysterious fragrance, unisex and probably good for all weather day or night. I'll try boosting the performance with petroleum jelly but at that price tag it shouldn't need help. 6+ hours later: Gone, even with the help.

I agree with some reviewers saying that this has a clean musk smell that leans soapy (probably the neroli) as first thought that came to mind when I first smelled this was the fabuloso floor cleaner. Not a particularly bad smell though. Just too odd for me to wear.

I bought Wonderly for a very good price, but this won't save it. On me it is a bit fruity (mainly goji berries), and Sandalwood, Myrrhe, a bit Iris and almond Blossom.. it is slightly sweet, very comfortable but nothing special. Simple as that.

Sweet but somehow also aquatic - now there’s a conflicting juxtaposition. It doesn’t smell luxurious or high-end as it’s so unspectacular. As usual, the vanilla is way too sweet for me.

The closest thing I've ever smelled to celery. Unique is right.

Everyone liking this a tad too much in this review section, so I'll come and ruin the party. Scent profile wise, Wonderly is the most average 7 you will find as it doesn't really do anything that impressive. Upon applying the scent, you clearly get the top two accords which are powdery & sweet. After I reapplied, only then was I getting the sandalwood base as well (which is noticeable, but not without me looking at the scent pyramid). You can notice the notes THoO includes in their other scents here as well, e.g. Golden Powder (dupe of Bouquet Ideale) definitely has some overlap here. I am mainly smelling musks & almond blossom on a vanilla & sandalwood base, with some fresh spicy accords built in. I do get more of those fresh spicy accords as it dries so if I had to guess what this scent is duping, it would most likely be Initio's Rehab. This does a pretty poor job at it though, at best I'd say it's a 60% comparable. Opening was like 60% Bouquet Ideale (sweet powdery vanilla), drydown is ~60% Rehab and 50% Ani (fresh spicy vanilla). Performance seems fairly poor. I'm assessing longevity of around 8 hours, but sillage is intimate-to-moderate the whole time. Wouldn't recommend it as we can do better in this price bracket. I'd say spring-summer-fall, this lacks the strength necessary to strike through cold weather.

Clean musk that lead to soapy effect with more of myrrh than fruitti or floral! I thought for once that this fragrance was about coconut, & coffee as "Sandra Raičević Petrović" said in pitti fragranze 2017 video review besides almonds but it turned to be more of a clean musk, with doses of myrrh, & sandalwood, with the least fruits, and almonds! as i feel it's a bit salty. I had high hopes to be honest, and i liked it when i first applied it on plotter, but now after having the whole sample, it's not what i've expected. I'll give it more time to see if it will grow on me.

Mmm almond powderbomb. Blind tested felt the same clay note as in almomd harmony maybe it's the line's DNA makeup. I feel something a little fresh and minty here. I guess it's the neroli. A little fruity but no distinct apricot. Sweet and subtle. These bottles are gems but I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze in this line. Maybe if you're looking for a gorgeous parfum corner - as an interior piece ;) ***Get in touch to swap samples! UK***

This is the promise of Wonderly, a fragrance that depicts the hot energy of the desert meeting the purity of snow, where notes of mouthwatering fruit, bone dry incensed woods, silvery florals and enchanting vanillic myrrh weave together in a tapestry of such beautiful contrast that it seems as unlikely as snow falling in the world's hottest desert. Smells very unique.

Soft vanilla, light peach note, tobacco, white musk, patchouli and a hint of sandalwood with the faintest liquorice whispers in the background. Gives me a vibe of Just Before mixed with Golden Powder but much more calm than either one. Very pleasant and super plush but a real minimalist in terms of performance.

Received a free sample...floral, a bit too much for me. The ingredients in this one don't seem to mix well. Not a real pleasant one IMO... I won't be making a purchase.
