Revel

I just received this with a purchase of Dream by The Maker, and I could smell it before I even opened the tiny, triangular box it comes in. WOW! I knew straight away that I liked it. In reading the previous comments, I can smell the L'Oreal kids' shampoo someone else described, and, again, that isn't a bad thing at all. I sprayed once and fell in love, so I had to spray three more times. I've been smelling my wrists and arms ever since! I'm not much of a tropical/fruity girl, but this is something altogether different. I can't imagine that a vehicle that smells like this would be a bad thing, but I usually gravitate toward musky/oud scents in my vehicle. It doesn't smell masculine to me at all, but everyone's individual body chemistry changes a scent. So far, I'm loving Revel.It does remind me of Wild, also by The Maker, but Wild isn't as fruity as Revel, and I have both now. I have yet to smell a scent created by The Maker that I don't love: Dream, Revel, Naked, Wild, Paradiso, and Lover are all fantastic in their own right for different reasons.

I don't really get any of the opening notes in this, and its definitely more of a gardenia perfume to me. Its a nice perfume don't get me wrong, but its shampoo-y and clean, which is not really my taste. It can be a little overpowering, especially in high heat

Finally finished my 2ml of this and after much delibaration, my thoughts are as follows. Let's start with the marketing campaign of this. I was very excited to receive their newsletter about their new summer release. Excited to try because I have always ended up steering away from the fruity summer fragrances, I thought surely The Maker would be one of those rare instances in which I would end up loving a tropical fragrance. I wore it through work shifts and meals out with friends and even at home. I ultimately decided this was just too soft for my liking. Now do take this with a grain of salt, because those around me gave me whole different perspective of it. I felt I went a bit nose blind to this after about an hour and it was a very intimate coconuty musk that I could get only if I put my nose to my arm. My coworker opposed and said she could absolutely smell me and even went to say she got a sort of coconut vanilla vibe from it, which according to her experience with testing the same fragrance, was very different on her skin. At the end of the day, I love The Maker as a brand and belive they do not miss. They make fragrances for every taste, you just have to find which suit your interests more. I have decided to steer clear of getting a full size as I know I won't be really reaching for it. Maybe I'll revisit as a travel spray somewhere down the road but for the now, I don't think I need this in my collection. Do try though! It was a pleasant scent and everyone seems to be having different feelings about it. The Maker offers a wonderful scent library for a great price on their website!

I really, really like this. It's bright, fruity and floral but dries down to something that is somehow both a little spicy and clean. I don't really pick up any particular notes, but this feels a little too heavy to me for warm weather. Regardless, it's complex and beautiful and I found myself actively sniffing my arm all day.

Wow what an incredibly beautiful classy floral fruity fragrance! Smells pretty similar to mojave ghost in the opening but then takes it's own musky floral dna in the dry down becoming less fruity but maintaining that sparkling light airy nature all throughout

Very light and sweet. A fruity, clean, and delicate vibe. It reminds me of the powder you put down before you vacuum or a fancy hairspray in a good way and I like it.

Very pretty and feminine. I would call this a delicate, slightly sweet gardenia. I really like this one

On first spray this was bright and exciting and warm, but as it dried down it started to smell like an elevated, expensive version of the L'Oreal kids shampoos of the 90s. That's objectively not a bad thing and is nostalgic af, but it is mildly headache inducing. I don't get rosewater at all, which I'm grateful for. I'm hanging onto my travel size and will try it again in warmer weather.

First impressions: (on paper sample) This is lovely. It’s gardenia but with a fruity tropical twist. Edit 1: Ooo I love that gardenia with a tropical twist I love this one. I’m starting to think I’m really in love with tropical scents, and this one hits the mark for me. It’s a little sharp in the beginning, but the dry down is calmer. Edit 2: Oof tried it on today and something about my skin chemistry is not working with this, when I saw Gucci gorgeous gardenia I was like oh that’s why. Nothing bad with gorgeous gardenia it’s just it doesn’t have that specialness that I like in perfume.

I wanted to like this sooo bad. It opens up with pineapple but dries down very masculine. It honestly has a unisex opening that I generally don't mess with but I actually liked. However the dry down is identical to Lost in Paradise by Chris Collins. It does not give tropical at all or fruity. If you like Lost in paradise but want a hit of juice then get this instead. Definitely musky. It screams cologne. I think if you like aquatic vibes you might like this. On a positive it last a while on the skin. I showered and this mf was still on me. lol. Definitely a return for me.

This was so yummy and fruity at first. About 5 hours in it turned sour. I kept getting wafts of something not pleasant and then it’d keep occurring to me that it was the perfume. Will give it one more chance... ETA: smelled it again this morning on paper that I sprayed yesterday afternoon. It’s a NO. Yucky weird sour note in dry down. Not pineapple!

The opening = heaven. Every second after that = oof. It took all of three minutes for Revel to putrefy into the smell of a tropical-scented car tree that'd been left in a busted Honda two summers too long. Non, merci lol.

I truly love this one. I loved Wild by the Maker and I love this even more. I'm a white floral fan to begin with, but the delicious lychee pinapple combo with the florals is toe curling. I would say this really smells like the notes. I blind bought this from sephora because I had some points and I had seen an ad for this. No regrets on that decision whatsoever. I only wish I had the money for a bigger size. 7/21 Edit to mention that this smell very similar to Detour by Noyz, which is much cheaper

Very juicy and fruity in the opening, with frangipani. Dries down to reveal gardenia and the frangipani is still there. 5hrs in I noticed the pineapple was more noticeable! It’s still on my skin 8hrs later, but now all that’s left is basically a sweet sandalwood. I really love it!

On the first try I really like it, I'd love to use this for spring/summer. It's soft and somewhat reminiscent of a tropical shampoo.

This has nothing to do with Chris Collins Lust in Paradise. This is a beautiful fragrance, well blended, special!

This is straight Gucci flora gorgeous gardenia, I love it.
