Blue Tea

For a tea scent, Blue Tea lasts quite well. It’s an expensive fragrance so I kinda expected it, in order to justify the price. And smells pretty nice. I am not the biggest tea fan, but over the years I have grown to like it both as a drink and in perfumes. Scent wise, I detect very easily the tea plus matcha notes, nutmeg, magnolia and rose. I wouldn’t say in equal quantities but the warm, spicy and floral notes are almost as noticeable as the tea and matcha. The opening it’s a bit earthier, spicy and bitter but once the floral heart develops it’s pretty sweet, dewy, watery and rosy with the greeness of the teas in the background. The bottle is a true piece of art. I had the pleasure to test some of Merchant of Venice creations and every single one felt very heavy when holding it and beautiful decorated with intricate details! I might want a bottle of Blue Tea if I can find for a reasonable price! Edit 25.04.25 I have purchased a bottle of Blue Tea from an online discounter for a very reasonable price! Wearing it today and it’s so beautiful and different from my usual perfumes!!

Piacevolmente sorpresa da questa fragranza ispirata all’Asia! Sono un’appassionata del mondo asiatico e quando ho avuto la possibilità di provare questo profumo ispirato ad un tè cinese, sono stata davvero felice. Appena si spruzza Blue Tea si possono odorare le foglie stesse del tè combinate con noce moscata, che ti circondano come un caldo abbraccio in una fredda giornata invernale. Il cuore sprigiona una freschezza romantica, grazie alla presenza di un bouquet floreale formato da Rosa, Magnolia e Neroli, rendendo questa profumo perfetto per chi (come me) ama fragranze fresche e fruttate. Quando dico che questo prodotto è perfetto per me dico sul serio, perché le note di fondo ricordano, in maniera sempre delicata, il pulito elegante del Muschio che scalda e rende corposa, persistente la fragranza stessa. Una menzione speciale anche al packaging, che rispecchia in tutto e per tutto il pregio del tè e la raffinatezza, nonché del fascino, asiatico. Lo consiglio a tutto coloro che stiano cercando un profumo importante, che trasmette eleganza e ricchezza!

Oh, boy, I actually really like this. I generally dislike tea fragrances, such as Elisabeth Arden, or even the more recent Maison Margiela Matcha Meditation. But this one is beautiful. To me, it smells like Earl Grey Lady Blue tea which is a little citrusy from the bergamot (not listed here), combined with magnolia, which gives it a natural sweetness. It is also a little soapy, from the Neroli and I think I am smelling some jasmine and lilly too, although not listed. Overall, a slightly sweet floral, soapy tea that smells very natural and well blended. Gorgeous bottle, very underrated, lovely scent. Full bottle worthy, would work great in spring.

I personally haven't known how the blue tea note smells like... But this perfume is a pleasant interpretation of chinese blue tea. It's a magnolia heavy perfume, with a little bitterness of tea. The first spray for me a bit citrusy, and then the magnolia punches in, finishes with vetiver and musk. I don't detect any rose here. The final dry down is a clean and soapy scent, and unlike any tea I've ever smelled. It's green and mesmerizing. Usually tea note doesnt project nuch, but in this it does, and it stays more than 12 hours on me.

Super elegant tea fragrance. Its longevity is more on cons side but the scent and smoothness of blending is critical point for me to determine a full bottle. I have Wulong Cha and Banana Republic Vintage Green 78, one has beast mode performance and the rest one (78) has affordable yet interesting blend. But when spraying Blue tea, I immediately fall in love with it, especially my taste is leaning to soft and no so sweet fragrance. Highly recommend for tea fragrance's fans!

Un vero gioiello! Ho la profumazione Blue Tea e posso dirvi che mi ha lasciato senza parole! Pungente ma allo stesso tempo dolce e avvolgente. Da quando lo indosso, tutti mi chiedono cosa stia indossando. Sento tantissimo la dolcezza del Te e la pungenza delicata della rosa. L’erogatore crea un getto super fine e il formato da 30mL risulta molto comodo da tenere in borsetta. Adesso sono troppo curiosa di provare anche le altre profumazioni.

A very special green floral scent, the very fresh notes of blue tea and neroli mixed with rose and magnolia gives an elegant and sophisticated touch maintaining it fresh and green at the same time. The mate and vetiver scent in background makes it delicate but persistent. I love it specially in the summer mornings and the bottle is amazing....it’s just a pleasure to enjoy it.

un profumo davvero particolare, soprattutto non la solita fragranza sentita mille volte. fresco e floreale con tratto aromatico intenso, per me è un profumo da giorno ma versatile anche per le occasioni. ha una bella scia e resiste abbastanza. se vi piace il genere asiatico floreale, questo fa al caso vostro, comunque restando attuale e moderno.

Un profumo davvero molto buono, appena aperto si puo sentire subito la fragranza del the, e successivamente si sente molto la rosa e il muschio. L odore rimane a lungo bastano davvero poche gocce, adatto a chi piace un profumo molto intenso. Per il mio gusto personale lo ritengo un profumo piu invernale. Prezzo nella media.

Amo questa fragranza. Inizialmente sono andata ad intuito ma quando mi è arrivata mi è piaciuta tantissimo! Io ho scelto il blue tea. Basta un solo spruzzo. All'inizio risulta essere una fragranza forte ma dopo poco rimane la freschezza sulla pelle. Sicuramente avrò il piacere di provarne altre. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Una notte d'oriente nel deserto sotto le stelle, tra fiori e spezie. Un sogno, un viaggio onirico. Fiorato prima, speziato e avvolgente subito dopo. Persistente, ne bastano poche gocce per arrivare fino a sera. Quando decidi d'indossare un'opera d'arte. Assolutamente consigliato.

Questo Eau de Parfum mi ha conquistata. Intenso,ma nello stesso tempo delicato. Una profumazione fresca ed avvolgente che persiste.Il flacone da 10 ml è comodissimo da portare in borsetta e in viaggio ed è molto elegante e raffinato.

Ho provato questa fragranza per alcuni giorni e devo dire che la profumazione mi piace tantissimo dura a lungo ed è di ottima qualità mi piace tantissimo anche il packaging. Ho scelto la fragranza Blue Tea

Interesting tea opening but the rose overpowers everything else in the mid notes. So after 30 mins of spraying, it starts smelling like rosewater until 2 hours later when it starts to get more floral.

The opening is wonderful with tea and neroli, then a combination of white flowers, a little wax of neroli and Magnolia, very little rose and tea. Sadly it didn't last long on my skin.

Beautiful tea scent, elegant and fresh. Sillage is pretty weak on my skin:( Absolutely adore this!

This is very disappointing. Very nice presentation in terms of bottle and box. But the fragrance... I am not sure I get tea. I get flowers but quickly turns very green stem (not tea at all) grass. It’s not terrible, but it’s not exactly pleasant for my olfactory preference. Moreover, it does not last long. Even a cheapie Elizabeth Arden Green tea is better. Estée Lauder Tender Light is very nice—with tea note. Blue Tea is unfortunate, uninspiring, and underwhelming. Alert: There are many fake reviews below. Their reviews are for only this perfume (their profiles were created for this in mind only) with “love” rating. A string of them in Italian. Update: 4/8/2025 to the kid reviewer above dissing plant stem and grass. I have been drinking all sorts of tea daily from towns well-known for their tea from Japan, China, Korea, Singapore (also lived and visited those places) for a half century. I know what tea smells like versus grass. Smells and tastes very very different. Leaf and grass are miles away in terms of aromas. Try steeping grass and plant stem and steeping tea leaf. Very different. Freshly cut grass will smell so different from freshly cut tea leaves, too. 10/05/2025: after I got rid of the bottle about a year ago, I got a small sample of this and tried out again today. And it’s so much better. How odd. I could smell tea and jasmine. No grassiness this time around. It is not bad at all.

Don’t know why it’s called Blue Tea but I bought it for its beautiful bottle. The opening was a beautiful soft tea blended with neroli. After a while what was left was a soft woody tea scent with floral touch. Certainly not the best tea perfume but certainly one of the better looking bottles. Still its a very soft beautiful tea perfume. Bought mine together with Gyokuro. Prefer that one which is a peach tea scent. Edit. After nine hrs, the skin sample was gone. The clothing sample projected on.

Very Tea fragrance, I really like. It's straight fresh Tea but you feel little bit smooth something like Milk but it's not very strong. If you love the smell of tea before you pour water over it, this is the one for you

I'm kinda dissapointed. It has a very nice opening and middle notes, but....they dont last! For this price and for de Merchant of Venice quality, one really expects a lot more!

Made me fall in love with Merchant. Very fresh, light scent that lasts surprisingly long.

Magnolia's sweetness is tamed by the neroli and mate. You can smell the rose slightly in the back ground and it's not over powering which is a plus for me. I'm not a fan typically a fan of rose dominant perfumes. As a base note, mate is a lovely earthy herbal tea note which works well in this perfume, mate is used to tone down florals. The immediate dry down post the initial blast is the high light. It's a clean fragrance, to me, perfect for any season post a shower when you don't want anything overwhelming. The longevity and projection leaves much to be desired. Over all, I'd say the florals are well balanced by the mate and soft green tea note. The nutmeg must lend a supporting role only as I can't detect it on it's own. Due to the poor performance, I paired it with Aveda Rosemary Mint lotion. I applied 10 sprays. A negative is I started to sneeze, my nose started running, which tends to happen with some synthetic oils in perfumes. *I don't sneeze from EA's Green Tea EDT or EDP and that's dirt cheap. The woody scent is defiantly from the vetiver which I suspect gives it, it's semi smokey charm. Smokey earthy, not incense vibe. The bottle is beautiful, as with most bottles from this house, I cannot justify paying full price for this scent since there's other tea scents I believe are far better, for example, Jasmin Perle de Thé by Fragonard or Killian's Imperial Tea. In fairness, I'm clearly more partial to citrus or jasmine in a tea scent than I am rose and magnolia, hence, I'm bias. This scent is perfectly unisex. It's okay. If one sprays heavily, you'll get 3 hours easily but a skin scent. I do find this scent inoffensive enough to wear where fragrances aren't typically welcomed. When I applied the lotion, Blue Tea complimented the lotion well. I'd recommend an herbal lotion to pair with this. To me, this fragrance shouldn't sell for more than $80, and that's only because of the pretty bottle.

I received this fragrance as a gift right in The Merchant of Venice flagship boutique - in Venice, where else. For any perfume addict, it’s an absolute must-do: to bring back from Venice not just a souvenir, but a piece of fragrant legend in a heavy, beautifully crafted bottle. That’s where I first discovered the brand, and I must say, the merchant fully lives up to his name. What do merchants do? They adapt to trends and to their customers. And who is the main customer of niche perfumery today? The Arab client, with bottomless pockets and a taste for oud, saffron, and rose. And also the global crowd of hype-driven consumers chasing ambroxan and woody amber. Against this background, Blue Tea is a politically correct outsider: gentle, clean, transparent, with a touch of cool jasmine and a wisp of tea smoke (to me it feels black tea). It’s refined but vanishes too quickly, like steam above a cup. Pleasant, intelligent, yet fleeting. In the end, the bottle on the table remains simply a beautiful memory of Venice, nothing more.

For a scent I expected to hate (it was a freebie) the sample was actually kind of fun to try to figure out. The first half hour I don’t care for it as it’s too much floral for me. But later, it reminded me of something really familiar and I finally realized it smelled like sun tea which my mom would make outside on hot summer days. It’s very light and I’m not a tea scent person but I thought it was a nicely made scent.

I bought a small sample of this and the opening is so stunning. A nice realistic floral tea. But then after an hour it smells like chemical bug spray. What a let down.

gosh this brand is really mediocre, all they perfumes are presented like the 8th wonder with very high price and inside it's always the same technical mediocrity, a very nice opening who srumble in 3 minutes ...it's the level of a good brand room spray. So here again....nice tea note opening and then flat boring white musk with tiny touchs of flowers. Next!

Unfortunately the bottles are always better than the perfume with this company. And they are very expensive.

Where has this one been hiding?!? Beautiful tea and white floral scent that has literally gotten me no less than 6 compliments today and it's only 2pm! I received a bunch of decants last week and grabbed this one without even knowing what I picked this morning on my way out the door... so needless to say, I've already ordered the full bottle! The longevity is impressive and the drydown has gotten softer, but I can still pick out the tea, the magnolia, the neroli, a little soft musk. I get zippo rose at all and the nutmeg faded quickly. This is a gorgeous fragrance. Not too serious. Not too flirty. Not too sweet. It has the potential of new signature scent, for sure. Pricepoint on this one is excellent with a coupon code - I found it for under $100 for the 3.4 on Fragrancenet.com for a tester. The Yulong from Armani Prive was, what I thought, my favorite tea perfume... 'til I tried this one. No contest.

I got an assuring feeling reading reviews confirming my impressions. The scent in itself is ok, very forgettable, but there is a feeling of cheapness that I shouldn’t get wearing a perfume with this price and presentation! It feels like the brand is giving the illusion of luxury and quality without really investing in product quality. If you smell this next to a FM or even PdM the difference in quality will be striking! Performance: average to poor, I am always perfumed at work and wearing this, colleagues asked why am I not wearing anything today, that was about 45-60 minutes later! I won’t be trying anything more from this brand actually.

Most tea scents don't have a great longevity but I'm hoping to extend it since I have the hand cream in this scent and will do layering. The earthy notes (nutmeg, maté, and vetiver) ground this scent well, bringing pleasant facets and make it unique among my 9 other tea scents. This is not your standard citrus green tea, it's more elegant and upscale to my nose: an elevated hotel lobby tea scent. And for people saying this smells like grass and stems, do you not know that's how tea is supposed to smell like LOL? I don't think the green quality in this is very sharp or obvious at all, it's quite muted and mellow with a rounded character.

Blue Tea is a slightly sweetened tea scent, likely from the nutmeg or magnolia, which sets it apart from other tea scents that typically lean toward a more citrusy or icy-cold tea profile. While I don’t like it enough to purchase a full bottle, I’m surprised by people calling out the brand (Merchant of Venice) for being overly expensive. It’s certainly not in the celebrity perfume price range, but it’s also not prohibitively pricey. Currently, I see a 3.4oz bottle sold for $95 on Jomashop and $92 on Maxaroma, which I’d say is quite reasonable given the aesthetics and quality of the perfume oil they use.

This is a brilliant, green floral with blue butterfly pea flower tea from South East Asia (have no idea about its actual smell but it belongs to the oolong family) accompanied by nutmeg, neroli, vetiver, magnolia and mate extract. Fresh with a slight dryness from the vetiver and tea notes. There seems to be a tiny lactone accord tucked in somewhere as I sense a barely-even-there milkiness in the drydown, similar the one found in a brew of milky oolong with its natural taste of milk. All in all I really enjoy wearing this; it makes me feel light as a feather and very well taken care of.

I am tea lover, all types of tea. Red, black, green or white, I love them all. specially the Green tea as a note. Yesterday I tried this one accidently, I mean I had no plan to buy any perfume, but this one was a irresistible. I sprayed once on my hand and the light smell of green tea or mate was appearing. I waited for 10 minutes and when it cooled down it gave a delicious rose smell. could not wait longer to own one so I bought it with no hesitate.

It is awkward. Given the price and the compliments I had heard, I expected the natural aroma of tea, but all I got was a meaningless and common floral scent. I had already smelled some perfumes in the same atmosphere, like bois 1920's oltremare, nishane's wulong cha and other nonsenses. and I have only one request from these brands: please don't stink the tea!

Fragranza molto particolare. Si avvertono subito le note speziate della noce moscata che lasciano in breve tempo lo spazio a quelle fresche e delicate del tè blu. Il profumo è intenso e persiste, uno dei miei preferiti. Il flacone da 10ml lo rende perfetto da portare in viaggio o in borsa. La confezione è elegante e raffinata.

Blue Tea è una fragranza super raffinata. È ispirata ai profumi e alle materie pregiate delle terre asiatiche che pone al centro della composizione il Tè blu, un ricercato tè cinese. È un profumo che lascia la scia, persistente e delicato allo stesso tempo. Un profumo elegante e dal fascino orientale.

La fragranza è bellissima! È delicata ma al tempo stesso intensa. Inoltre la senti sulla pelle per tutto il giorno! Si sente il tè ed è leggermente agrumata. Adatta per uomo o donna. Ottima anche come idea regalo. Il packaging è stupendo!

It’s not super strong or attention-grabbing more like a peaceful, ‘I smell fresh without trying’ type scent. Some people might expect stronger tea vibes, but it’s actually more floral than tea.

Amaaazing for 30min~ ... was ready to buy it, but I thought I'll wait and see how it settles. Sadly I agree with others that it just turns into rose water to me :(

Magnolia and a nice hot pot of tea. It's very likable and yet I don't see myself wearing this ever. Not anything dislikable, but not also that wearable

Another one of the line that stands out. Very fresh green tea not herbal no strong neroli or rose. A must smell for green lovers.

It's something I would not wear but somehow I like to smell this over and over again or be near it.
