Flamant Rose by The Merchant of Venice is much more than a simple perfume: it is a work of olfactory art that captures the elegance and delicacy of the pink flamingo (from which it takes its name) and the refinement of the Venetian lagoon. Launched in 2021 within the Concentric Collection, this fragrance designed by Cyrill Rolland is a luminous and enveloping sensorial journey.The fragrance opens with a sparkling and citrus freshness, then evolves into a fruity heart and closes with a warm and velvety base. Citrus opening notes of mandarin, Petitgrain, Verbena Odorosa. An energizing citrus and botanical start, very natural and airy. The heart is creamy, Apricot, Orange Blossom, Geranium which give a velvety sweetness that combines with the brightness of the white flowers. The base is rich in Tonka Bean, Musk, Enveloping Patchouli: A soft and slightly powdery finish that guarantees persistence. The Balance of Apricot: Unlike many fruity perfumes that are excessively sweet or "caramel-like", here the apricot is treated with extreme elegance. It recalls the velvety peel of the fruit, made luminous by the orange blossom. It is a fragrance that transmits cleanliness and sunshine. It is perfect for the day, for the office or for a formal outdoor event, as it is present without ever being intrusive. The Packaging: As per tradition for The Merchant of Venice, the Murano glass bottle with shades of pink and coral is a collector's piece that visually recalls the grace of the flamingo. Before the Russia-Ukraine conflict, I had a penchant for Brocard perfumes, that became unavailable in Australia via the UK overnight. Going by research and a sample of the most divine scent - Brocard's Once Upon a Time Fortune that Cyrill Roland created, I made a leap of faith and blind bought this Flamant Rose. How are no samples available? Anyway, as a bird lover, the presentation and concept appealed to me. Learning that Flamant Rose translates to Flamingo Pink, and there is no rose note in the perfume, helped a lot. The notes and reviews also helped. Well, it has arrived. Packaging: theatric, feminine, stunning, special. The scent: Like something exquisite and wonderful, better than the Brocard I had sought to replace. I feel like I have just found my YES perfume. It is unusual yet I can't imagine it being anything other than universally appealing. The apricot note is the key - it steadies out the citrus into something edible, a delectable lemon meringue delicacy perhaps. Yet it also adds a rich depth of interest. Tonka embraces the mix and the whole effect is not jarred in any way. The notes all merge symbiotically and create a presence that is warm, sexy but elegant, dignified and delightful. This is everything I've been looking for. I cannot understand why it's not more popular. I should also add that it has no notes of facade, nor cheap or synthetic processing. It's so much more high end than the price implies and in good stead to compete with some of the biggies like Roja or Amouage in quality, sillage, projection and perfection. I'm in love with this smell.

I kept smelling myself, wondering what the hell that note was, and I figured it out....geranium. The geranium is so strong in here and it's honestly off putting. I've never really thought very highly of geranium, the fuzzy green plants my mom always had in her garden. I think they have a strange, pungent, bitter quality to them and unfortunately, in this fragrance, it really dominates over the other notes and that's unfortunate. I was really hoping for apricots, orange blossom, and tonka. For me, it's more pettigrain and geranium. It's very, very green, to my nose. It's about time for me to a big declutter and put these weird ones on Mercari. Someone else who gets the apricots and tonka should have this perfume, not me.

Ahhh, this is my signature scent for winter. It’s a passionate, sexy, and unique feminine fragrance. It smells creamy and very clean, with a special touch that feels different from anything else. The tonka note in the background makes it warm and addictive. This perfume really represents me. Every time I wear it, I feel very sexy. It’s creamy and clean, but also slightly sweet and full of unique notes. It’s definitely not ordinary—this is my true signature scent.

Love, love, love this. My first expensive niche splurge with my own money (adulthood sucks right) but worth every penny. The notes or so well blended it’s hard to pinpoint what you’re smelling. This is like the Aphrodite of fragrances: you smell what you want to smell in it. Some days this smells like a baby, some days sunscreen. Lasts days on clothes and projects. I was hoping to wear this for summer, praying that it won’t smell cloying.

Gorgeous perfume. Thanks to Marie my friend who fell in love with it and I end up buying it for her as a gift that made me discover it. I have many perfumes from this brand but this is my 3rd favorite from The Merchant of Venice. The dry down of Blanche Bette smell exactly like this perfume. I smell an obvious note of Cinnamon which I love

A niche and unique fragrance, completely different from the classic citrus-rose perfumes. I was surprised by vanilla, tonka and geranium in the dry down. It's somewhat light, it won't be suitable for winter, but the projection is still very nice. I even received compliments 5-6 hours after trying it in the store. I love this hobby.

This scent is really beautiful and surprisingly long lasting! It has a very youthful quality to it and reminds me a little bit of baby skincare :) It's not a turkish delight-type of rose scent at all. It's really fresh and I pick up quite citrusy lemon notes too.

For so long I wanted a modern day Eden. I appreciate the Cacharel creation so much, that I stand in awe before it, but I just couldn't handle it myself. It was always much bigger than me. And undeniably retro. I could have only owned it as a consumable art piece, not a wearable fragrance. Now that I have finally find one (Flamant Rose obviously), I dont care for it. It feels like a heavy white floral, with that inflatable beach ball lingering scent. Very much Eden-like. It's also kinda matronly like La Prima in the "reminds me of" section. So I have found the new Eden, I just don't crave it any more.

The scent reminds me of an old wooden rosary. Very nun-coded to me, probably mainly because of patchouli and geranium

It's a NO for me! This is a soft, powder-y, sweet, and feminine fragrance. If you don't enjoy "sweet," I'm not sure how you will enjoy this. Everything about it reads "delicate" to me - just like the pretty pink bottle. I can truly look at pictures of pink flamingos and envision their feathers smelling like this. The sweetness, the apricot, the musk - just wonderful...had it not been for the geranium!! Thoroughly annoying my nostrils and having the audacity to stay present from top to bottom...no fade away and no disappearing. Most geraniums (not all) ruin the fragrance for me; and unfortunately, this has been one of those "ruined" times.

At first I didn’t like it but it gets better and better and it reminds me of xerjoff JTC 400 but without the powerful projection and longevity u get from xerjoff
